Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

In the blink of an eye, the Tree Spirit Grandmother had bound Zhao Rong so tightly he couldn’t move an inch.

At that moment, Zhao Rong could only struggle desperately. To his dismay, the harder he struggled, the tighter the binds became, rendering him completely immobile.

When the Tree Spirit Grandmother saw she had captured Zhao Rong, she laughed arrogantly. ”Zhao Rong, you think you’re so badass? You fought your way through every obstacle and eliminated most of our company’s masters. How is it that you’ve finally met your end with me?”

When the assistant and the three women saw Zhao Rong bound and helpless, they screamed in horror. ”What do we do? Someone as powerful as Brother Zhao Rong can’t do anything against this Tree Spirit Grandmother...”

The assistant said in disbelief, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’ve always been invincible! How could you suddenly fall into the hands of this seemingly ordinary Tree Spirit Grandmother?”

Miss Lili grabbed an ashtray from the table and hurled it at the nearby Tree Spirit Grandmother. ”Tree Spirit Grandmother, release Brother Zhao Rong at once, or I’ll smash your bark with this ashtray!”

Yu Lan grabbed a lighter, set a wad of toilet paper on fire, and threw it at the creature. ”Tree Spirit Grandmother, let Brother Zhao Rong go, or I’ll set you on fire and burn you to charcoal!”

Xuelian snatched a bottle of baijiu, splashed it on the Tree Spirit Grandmother, and then charged forward with a lit torch to set her ablaze. ”You think you’re so tough? I’ll set you on fire right now! We’ll see if you let go of Brother Zhao Rong then!”

However, to the utter dismay of the assistant and the three women, the Tree Spirit Grandmother before them seemed invulnerable. Even fire couldn’t ignite her. When they saw that nothing they did could harm the creature, let alone rescue Zhao Rong, they burst into tears of desperation.

At that moment, seeing Zhao Rong about to be strangled to death by her roots, the Tree Spirit Grandmother cackled arrogantly. ”Zhao Rong, your time is up. Don’t bother struggling. Just close your eyes and wait for death...”

But before she could finish, Zhao Rong managed to pull his phone from his pocket and toss it toward his friends. ”My fate is mine to decide, not yours! Assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian! Quickly, open my phone and go to the Paradise Shopping Cart! Search for a knife called the Iron-to-Mud Knife! With that knife, we can take care of this thing!”

When the assistant and the women heard that there was a knife in the Paradise Shopping Cart capable of killing the invulnerable Tree Spirit Grandmother, they immediately grabbed Zhao Rong’s phone, ready to make the purchase.

Lili’s hands trembled with excitement as she handled the phone. ”The Paradise Shopping Cart is incredible! With this app, no enemy can defeat us...”

Yu Lan reminded her urgently, ”Lili, hurry up and open Brother Zhao Rong’s phone and buy it! Can’t you see the roots are strangling him? He’s about to suffocate!”

Xuelian was even more frantic. ”I remember Brother Zhao Rong set up screen locks! A number code and a pattern! Do any of you know them? If you do, unlock it now and buy the Iron-to-Mud Knife! We have to hurry; we can’t waste a single second...”

Before Xuelian could finish, Lili froze. She had no idea what the password to Brother Zhao Rong’s phone was.

Holding the device, she asked frantically, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what’s your phone password? We have to unlock your phone, but we don’t know the code!”

Although Zhao Rong wanted to tell her the password was 0231, he couldn’t force the numbers from his lips. The roots were crushing his throat too tightly for him to speak. All he could do was roll his eyes, trying to show that he was unable to make a sound.

Seeing that he couldn’t talk, Yu Lan snatched the phone from Lili, activated the facial recognition feature, and aimed it at the distant Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, don’t worry! Even if you can’t speak, your phone has face unlock! I’ll just point this at your face, unlock the phone, and we’ll save you from this mess!”

She thought to herself, You people are so dense! If you know Brother Zhao Rong can’t speak, why are you asking for passwords and patterns? Why can’t you be smart and clever like me, thinking outside the box in a crisis? I’ll use face unlock to open his phone and buy the Iron-to-Mud Knife right now...

However, to Yu Lan’s embarrassment, Zhao Rong was being squeezed so tightly by the treant that his face was distorted beyond recognition. The facial recognition failed.

When Yu Lan saw that even facial recognition wouldn’t work, she turned to the assistant. She shoved the phone into his hands and glared at him. ”Assistant, I bet you know Brother Zhao Rong’s password. Unlock it, now! There’s no time to waste! If you’re any slower, he’s going to die!”

Listening to her, the assistant said awkwardly, ”Ladies, I... I only know the password for the folder where he keeps his private videos, not his screen lock password...”

As it turned out, the assistant often secretly borrowed Zhao Rong’s phone to watch those videos while occupied in the restroom, so he had memorized that specific password. He had no idea what the screen lock password was.

Before the assistant could finish his sentence, Xuelian slapped him hard across the face. Pointing at the screen, she yelled, ”Cut the crap! If you know the password to his video stash, then try it! Maybe it’ll unlock the screen!”

With no other choice, the assistant decided to give it a shot. He drew the unlock pattern on Zhao Rong’s phone screen.

To his astonishment, the screen unlock pattern was exactly the same as the one for the folder containing the video stash.
