Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

The moment Zhao Rong and his group of five entered the dance hall, a flock of gaudily dressed, fashionable women in heavy makeup swarmed them.

The assistant stared at the women and said to Zhao Rong in wonder, ”Zhao Rong, I never expected a dance hall in this desert valley to have so many stunning women...”

Zhao Rong rubbed his eyes. He looked at the women, each doused in strong perfume, and remarked with great interest, ”How interesting. This dance hall is in such a remote location. Where did they find so many beautiful women?”

While Zhao Rong and his assistant were still wondering, the group of women approached them directly. They took Zhao Rong and the assistant by the hand, leading them toward the center of the dance floor. ”Gentlemen,” one of them said flirtatiously, ”since you’ve come to the Phoenix Dance Hall, why not follow us to the dance floor for a song?”

As a group of beautiful women led them by the hand toward the dance floor, Zhao Rong and his assistant exchanged a look. ”In most dance halls or bars, it’s the men who ask the women to dance,” Zhao Rong commented, intrigued. ”But here in the Phoenix Dance Hall, the women are inviting the men. That’s a new one...”

Faced with several options, the assistant chose the most beautiful woman and joined her on the dance floor. As they danced, he said, ”Miss, in my entire life, I’ve never been invited to dance by a beautiful woman. You’re the first.”

The long-haired woman wrapped her arms around the assistant’s shoulders and said seductively, ”Since you’re here at the Phoenix Dance Hall, you should enjoy the dance. Look, the lights are dimming...”

Before she could finish, the dance floor, which had been bright a moment ago, was plunged into darkness as music began to play.

When Zhao Rong and the assistant heard the music playing in the Phoenix Dance Hall was Murong Xiaoxiao’s ”Love for Sale,” they were stunned.

Zhao Rong looked at the short-haired woman dancing with him and asked, ”Miss, why is your dance hall playing songs from seven or eight years ago? Isn’t that a little out of date?”

The woman placed her hands on Zhao Rong’s shoulders and gave a completely unrelated reply. ”Sir, since you’re here to dance, you should make the most of this blackout dance. Otherwise, once the lights come on, you won’t be able to get anything done.”

Her words baffled him. ”Miss, what do you mean by that?” Zhao Rong asked. ”Why do I need to seize this time while the lights are out? Is something supposed to happen on the dance floor?”

Hearing this, the woman looked him up and down. ”Sir, is this your first time at the Phoenix Dance Hall?” she asked.

Before Zhao Rong could respond, the song ended. As the lights came back up, the people on the dance floor immediately scattered.

When Zhao Rong saw people leaving the dance floor, he released his hands from the woman’s waist and prepared to leave as well. But before he could take a step, she grabbed his belt from behind. With a smile, she said, ”Sir, you danced with me, but you haven’t paid yet.”

Hearing that he had to pay for the dance, Zhao Rong was shocked. Good heavens, you can’t be serious! I have to pay for a single dance? Don’t tell me it’s ten thousand yuan!

Feeling duped, the assistant standing nearby lamented, ”If I’d known these women charged for dances, I never would have accepted. Now we’ve been fleeced! We’ll probably have to fork over thousands of yuan...”

Just as Zhao Rong and his assistant braced themselves to be extorted for a large sum, the woman smiled and said, ”Same as always. Ten yuan for a dance. Pay up.”

When Zhao Rong and the assistant heard a dance was only ten yuan, they were both stunned. Zhao Rong hurriedly pulled ten yuan from his pocket and gave it to the woman. ”I can’t believe a dance is so cheap...” he murmured.

The assistant, while paying his own dance partner, grinned. ”This is a great opportunity! Only ten yuan a dance? I can dance with a lot of beautiful women!”

With that, he pulled out a hundred-yuan note and went off to find more partners.

Zhao Rong, however, stepped off the dance floor. He scanned his surroundings, completely bewildered. What is this place? It’s so strange. Could the mastermind, Hong Ju, and his son, Zhou Xiaoer, really be hiding in this Phoenix Dance Hall?

Just as Zhao Rong was pondering this, he suddenly heard three women arguing nearby.

Miss Lili was shoving a man away. ”Get lost, you pig!” she spat. ”Who wants to dance with you? Scram!”

The woman named Yu Lan pointed at another man in dirty clothes who looked like a country bumpkin. ”You must be joking,” she scoffed. ”Did you really think offering us ten yuan each would be enough to get us to dance with you?”

Beside them, a third woman, Xuelian, pulled out a can of pepper spray and aimed it at a man with dyed yellow hair. ”You pigs, get lost!” she warned. ”If you don’t take your ten yuan and disappear, I’ll spray every last one of you!”

Zhao Rong rushed over and stood in front of the three women. ”Ladies, what’s the problem? Are these men harassing you?”

Seeing Zhao Rong arrive, the three women instantly grew bolder.

Miss Lili stepped forward, pointed at the man, and said indignantly, ”Zhao Rong, can you believe this? This creep waved ten yuan at me, trying to get me to dance with him!”

Yu Lan scoffed at the men. ”You pigs really have no idea who you’re dealing with. Do you actually think you can win us over with a mere ten yuan? Let me tell you, even with ten million yuan, you couldn’t have us! That’s because our hearts already belong to someone... and that someone is this talented young man standing right in front of you.”

Xuelian stepped forward, wrapping an arm around Zhao Rong’s shoulder. She glared at the men and said, ”You bunch of pigs, scram! If you try to act tough, Zhao Rong will knock all your teeth out!”

When the men heard this and saw Zhao Rong protecting the women, they sneered at him. ”You? You’re not even 1.7 meters tall and weigh less than 130 pounds. You look so frail, like a gust of wind could blow you over. We’ll knock you down right now and then take these ladies for a dance!”

With that, the men swung their fists and charged at Zhao Rong.
