Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Looking at the fireproof monsters before him, Zhao Rong thought. If I want to kill these two, I have to figure out a way to peel off their fireproof skin. Otherwise, this is all for nothing.

At that moment, the two lake monsters saw Zhao Rong put away the Samadhi Fire and immediately began to mock him and his assistant.

”You two humans, don’t think you can kill us with your petty tricks,” one sneered. ”Let us tell you, we are the bosses of this lake! Forget about you humans—not even the Emperor of Heaven himself could do anything to us if he came here.”

The old turtle, who had been hiding behind Zhao Rong and his assistant, took a step forward. ”Sirs, you’d better not make enemies of these two lake monsters,” he advised. ”We should run. If we can’t escape, we might as well surrender. At least we’ll avoid being eaten alive.”

Seeing the old turtle, who had just sworn to fight fearlessly, shrink back into his shell again, Zhao Rong shot him a glare. ”Old Turtle, if you’re scared, then you can go beg for mercy,” he said fiercely. ”As for us humans, we would rather die with honor than surrender in disgrace.”

The old turtle lowered his head in shame at Zhao Rong’s bravery. Zhao Rong then took a step forward and faced the two lake monsters. ”Is that all you have? A special fish skin?” he taunted. ”I’m about to peel that very skin right off of you. Let’s see how you handle fire then.”

As he spoke, Zhao Rong took out his underwater combat weapon—the mouse—and aimed it at the two monsters. When the assistant saw Zhao Rong aiming the mouse, he quickly pulled one out of his own pocket. ”Brother Zhao Rong, that’s right! How could I forget we prepared weapons? The Silver Needle Mouse! Ugh, we must have been too nervous and forgot what we brought. Let’s use these mice to shoot out silver needles and kill these two monsters right now!”

With that, the assistant fired over 100 silver needles toward the two lake monsters. Time to die, you monsters! he thought as he fired.

However, to his astonishment, the monsters were completely impervious to the needles. He watched as the hundred-plus silver needles he fired struck the monsters’ bodies, but it was like hitting diamond; they couldn’t penetrate their skin at all. In despair, the assistant looked at Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, what do we do now?” he cried. ”Our silver needles are useless against them! It’s like throwing an egg at a stone!”

Then, the assistant began to complain to himself. Honestly, Brother Zhao Rong... If you were going to buy weapons from the Paradise Shopping Cart to fight these monsters, you should have bought needles that could actually pierce their skin! This weapon might be powerful on land with great range, but underwater, it’s completely useless against these things! It’s like trying to stop a chariot with a praying mantis. What are we supposed to do? Just wait here to be eaten?

The lake monsters laughed mockingly. ”You two humans vastly underestimate us. To think you could pierce our bodies with a weapon like that is a fool’s dream. Let us tell you, you may have caught us off guard with your oxygen tanks before, but we’ve since eaten a plant in this lake called the Indestructible Body Herb. Our bodies are incredibly hard now. Forget silver needles—even if you detonated a nuclear weapon right next to us, it wouldn’t harm us in the slightest, let alone kill us!

”So, you two humans should just surrender. Kneel and let us eat you. That way, we’ll at least make your deaths quick and painless.”

Having said this, the two lake monsters roared with laughter, their eyes filled with contempt for Zhao Rong and his assistant.

The old turtle scurried forward again and patted Zhao Rong’s shoulder. ”Brother Zhao Rong, just give up fighting them,” he pleaded. ”Follow me and let’s escape. I know a shortcut we can take, and I guarantee those two monsters won’t be able to catch us. But if you stay here and keep fighting, there’s only one possible outcome: certain death.”

Seeing the cowering turtle, Zhao Rong leaped into the air, delivered a spinning back kick that knocked the old turtle to the ground, and then turned to face the two water monsters. He pointed at them and shouted, ”Go to hell, you monsters! Who said my silver needles couldn’t pierce your bodies?!”

With that, Zhao Rong raised his mouse and clicked, firing the needles. Instantly, the silver needles launched from Zhao Rong’s mouse struck the water monsters and began to peel their skin right off. In just a few moments, the scales of the two monsters rained down, and their skin slowly sloughed off their bodies.

Witnessing this miraculous scene, the assistant asked Zhao Rong in amazement, ”Brother Zhao Rong, how can the silver needles from your mouse peel their skin? That’s so strange. Why do the needles from my mouse only strike them, not peel their skin?”

Zhao Rong watched the two monsters, now stripped of their skin, and laughed wildly. ”Who said my silver needles couldn’t kill you? Now that you don’t have your powerful skin, you can just wait to be burned to death by my Samadhi Fire!”

Saying this, Zhao Rong took an iron box from his Magic Ring, opened it, and retrieved the Samadhi Fire. He hurled it at the two skinned lake monsters and bellowed, ”Your time is up, monsters! I’m going to watch as my Samadhi Fire renders you into fish oil, which I’ll then put into a capsule and sell to a pharmacy!”

The two lake monsters, who had been so arrogant just moments before, had lost their protective layer. When the ball of Samadhi Fire began to burn them, it took only moments for them to be reduced to a pool of shimmering fish oil.

Zhao Rong then took a large, empty capsule from his Magic Ring, threw it over, and used it to collect all the fish oil. He stepped forward, picked up the capsule, and placed it in his assistant’s arms for him to hold. ”Assistant, hold this carefully,” he said. ”This single capsule of fish oil is worth ten million US dollars.”
