Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

The assistant looked at the Water Shield in Zhao Rong’s hand and laughed. ”Brother Zhao Rong, do you really think a tiny floral umbrella like that can withstand the fire spewed from the subterranean salamander’s mouth?”

Miss Lili also felt the small umbrella was completely unreliable. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if we want to block those flames, I think we need to be wearing the kind of fire-resistant suits that firefighters use...”

Miss Yu Lan, however, took out her phone and started searching for fire hoses on Pingshaoxiao. ”I’m going to buy an automatic fire hose online,” she announced. ”One that can spray water on the flames as soon as it’s connected. It’s the only way to guarantee we won’t get burned.” She then took out diving suits and handed them to everyone. ”Brother Zhao, you should listen to me. Let’s put these on and dive into the water. We can swim past the salamander quietly. That way, not only will it not notice us, but even if it does and breathes fire, it won’t be able to harm us while we’re underwater.”

However, just as everyone was doubting the floral, umbrella-like Water Shield in Zhao Rong’s hand, the subterranean salamander suddenly lunged forward. It spat out a ball of fire exceeding 1,000°C that shot fiercely toward the group of five.

When the assistant and the three young women saw the inferno, their faces paled with terror.

”It’s over!” the assistant cried, his face ashen. ”We’re going to be burned alive! It seems my life is destined to end in a sea of flames...”

Miss Lili was so scared she burst into tears. ”I don’t want to be burned to death! Burn victims look so twisted and ugly... A beautiful girl like me should have a peaceful death. That’s the only way to go.”

Miss Yu Lan was also frightened to the point of tears. ”We’re only eighteen or nineteen! To die in a sea of flames like this... it would be such a cruel and unjust fate!”

In stark contrast to everyone’s terror, Miss Xuelian was not only fearless but exceptionally brave. ”Flames! Fire! Bring it on!” she declared. ”With Brother Zhao Rong here, I’m not afraid of you!”

Just when they all thought death was certain, the ball of fire drew close to the group. Zhao Rong gave the small floral umbrella in his hand a light shake, and in an instant, a miracle occurred.

The tiny umbrella immediately transformed into a massive waterfall. The cascade of water completely blocked the 1,000°C flames spewed by the subterranean salamander.

When the three women and the assistant saw the small floral umbrella in Zhao Rong’s hand instantly become a waterfall, their eyes widened in utter disbelief.

”Brother Zhao Rong, you said this little umbrella was a Water Shield... We didn’t believe you at first. But now that we’ve seen it truly transform into a curtain of water and block the fire from the salamander’s mouth, we believe you! We really do!”

The assistant watched the umbrella become a waterfall, immensely grateful to be alive. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re incredible! Your little floral umbrella turned into the Niagara Falls of Nicaragua in an instant. This has completely blown my mind!”

Miss Lili wiped away her tears and exclaimed joyfully, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re amazing! Not only am I not dead, but I also got to see your little floral umbrella turn into Huangguoshu Waterfall!”

Miss Yu Lan was so moved she looked to the sky and sighed. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you truly are a peerless hero and an incredible magician! You conjured Hukou Waterfall out of thin air to block the inferno from the salamander’s mouth.”

Miss Xuelian was even more astonished. ”Brother Zhao Rong, this Shuilian Cave you’ve created is unbelievably powerful! It can block flames over 1,000°C. I never would have dreamed of seeing such a thing!”

Just as the three women and the assistant were lavishing praise on Zhao Rong, the immense waterfall suddenly vanished. At the exact same moment, the fire from the subterranean salamander’s mouth also died down.

When they saw the waterfall disappear, their hearts leaped into their throats. ”Brother, why did the waterfall you just conjured vanish?” they asked anxiously. ”Hurry, bring it back! Where will we hide when the salamander spits fire again?”

Before they could finish, Zhao Rong opened his Magic Ring and took out a basket full of small floral umbrellas. He smiled at them and said, ”The waterfall I just made was a one-time use, but I still have all of these right here, just waiting for the salamander to breathe fire at me. I’d like to see what runs out first: the fire it can spew, or the water my umbrellas can become.”

As Zhao Rong spoke, the subterranean salamander spat out another massive ball of flame that burned toward the group. Just as the fire approached, Zhao Rong instantly took out another small floral umbrella and transformed it into another huge waterfall. When the fierce flames hit the vast cascade, a standoff ensued. Clearly, the intense fire couldn’t penetrate the waterfall Zhao Rong had created.

When the assistant and the three women saw the waterfall again, they were stunned once more.

The assistant looked at the basket of umbrellas beside Zhao Rong and said in amazement, ”Brother Zhao Rong, are you saying that every single one of these umbrellas in this basket can turn into its own waterfall to exhaust the flames the salamander spits out?”

Zhao Rong smiled at him. ”Of course. Do you even need to ask? I have this basket of umbrellas for the sole purpose of turning them into waterfalls to deplete the fireballs inside the salamander’s belly.”

Miss Lili carefully counted the small floral umbrellas in the basket, her eyes widening in disbelief. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if I counted correctly, there are over a thousand small floral umbrellas in that bamboo basket!”

Miss Yu Lan stepped forward, picked up one of the thousand umbrellas, and held it in her hand. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I think this subterranean salamander is doomed,” she said. ”These thousand umbrellas are equivalent to a thousand Niagara Falls of Nicaragua. I refuse to believe that salamander’s stomach can hold a thousand balls of scorching fire!”

Miss Xuelian said with confidence, ”As the saying goes, it’s a matter of the elements. Water extinguishes Fire. As long as our waterfalls keep appearing and there’s enough water, we’ll be able to deal with this subterranean salamander easily.”

Before Miss Xuelian could finish her sentence, the great waterfall created by Zhao Rong’s second small floral umbrella also disappeared.
