Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

The moment the old turtle saw the two strange fish launch their surprise attack, it cowered and immediately hid behind Zhao Rong and his assistant.

Seeing the very turtle that had just been boasting about its bravery now hiding faster than anyone else at the first sign of a monster, Zhao Rong and his assistant exchanged a knowing glance.

”It seems the saying ’a turtle hiding in its shell’ isn’t just an empty phrase...” Zhao Rong said, sighing. Shaking his head, he charged forward to face the two strange lake fish.

”You two picked a great time to show up,” he said fearlessly. ”We just finished off 100 water roaches, and we’re still seeing red from the slaughter. Your arrival is the perfect chance for us to let off some steam.”

”Brother Zhao,” the assistant said, stepping forward as well. ”Since the Samadhi Fire you bought from the Paradise Shopping Cart is voice-controlled, let me handle this. I’ll command it and exterminate these two strange fish. You can sit back and take a breather.”

With that, the assistant stared at the two menacing fish, their fangs and claws on full display. If Brother Zhao could command the Samadhi Fire to wipe out 100 water roaches so easily, then I can definitely use it to eliminate these two strange fish.

When Zhao Rong saw that his assistant was eager for some action, he took a step back. He retrieved the iron box containing the Samadhi Fire from his Magic Ring and handed it over.

”Alright, Assistant, if you want to take care of them, then this box of Samadhi Fire is all yours,” he said. ”Fight well. I’ll record a video on my phone and post it online to get you some publicity. It’ll help you gain more followers.

”Who knows? Maybe some beautiful woman will see this video of you fighting bravely underwater, fall for you, and come seeking you out. Then you can finally say goodbye to being single and settle down with a wife, kids, and a cozy home.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s words, the assistant’s desire to show off swelled, and he spoke with excitement, ”Brother Zhao, you’re absolutely right! Nowadays, everything is about the internet. You have to promote yourself and get fans to make money, reach the pinnacle of life, and marry a beautiful, wealthy woman!”

As he spoke, the assistant opened the iron box and commanded the power within. ”Samadhi Fire, quickly become a roaring inferno and burn these two lake fish to death!”

He then waited, expecting the Samadhi Fire to erupt into a massive blaze and incinerate the two strange fish. However, after a long moment, the fire that emerged from the box was no bigger than a candle flame.

When the two strange lake fish saw this pathetic flicker, they roared with laughter. ”Humans! Clumsy, foolish humans with negative IQ! You think you can burn us to death with that tiny flame? You must be daydreaming!”

Seeing that the Samadhi Fire wasn’t growing under his command and was, in fact, getting weaker, the assistant turned to Zhao Rong in a panic. ”Brother Zhao, help me! Why isn’t the Samadhi Fire working for me?”

Seeing his assistant’s clumsy attempt, Zhao Rong stepped forward to offer some careful guidance. ”Assistant, if you want the Samadhi Fire to burn fiercely, you have to give it some oxygen.”

Hearing this, the assistant quickly took off his oxygen mask, spun around, and released a cloud of oxygen into the surrounding water. Instantly, the flame that was as weak as a kerosene lamp exploded in size.

When the assistant saw the tiny flicker transform into a raging blaze, he shouted with excitement, ”Oh my god, it really worked! With Brother Zhao’s guidance, the flame got huge!”

He then pointed at the two strange lake fish and roared, ”Samadhi Fire, by my command, go and burn those two monsters to death!”

At his command, the immense Samadhi Fire shot toward the two fish, engulfing them in a whirlwind of flames.

To the astonishment of both Zhao Rong and his assistant, however, the fish didn’t even try to dodge. They showed no fear at all, as if the raging inferno meant nothing to them. After the Samadhi Fire had been burning them for a full three minutes, the assistant stared at the scene, utterly dumbfounded.

The two strange lake fish weren’t just unharmed—they were bathing in the flames.

Zhao Rong couldn’t stay put any longer. He swam over quickly and said, ”This is bad! These two lake fish must be immune to the Samadhi Fire. Otherwise, there’s no way they could survive our fire for three minutes without being burned to a crisp.”

Just then, the two monsters began to sing cheerfully from within the fire, ”SCRUB-A-DUB, SCRUB-A-DUB...”

Hearing the fish not only surviving but singing, the assistant stammered, ”What’s going on? Are there really animals in this world that aren’t afraid of fire?”

Seeing the assistant’s look of disbelief, Zhao Rong took out his phone, opened WeChat’s scan function, and pointed it at the two singing fish. Almost immediately, their information appeared on the screen. It turned out that the skin of these creatures, known as ”strange fish skin,” was fireproof, waterproof, dustproof, sandproof, and even explosion-proof.

Zhao Rong immediately issued a new command. ”Samadhi Fire, come back! You can’t burn these two to death.”

Obeying his order, the fierce blaze shrank back into a tiny spark and returned to the iron box. Zhao Rong closed the lid, stored it back in his Magic Ring, and turned to his assistant. ”These two are fireproof. Our flames can’t kill them.”

When the assistant heard that the fish were immune to fire, he was shocked. ”No way, Brother Zhao! Do these things have an Indestructible Body? How else could they be completely unaffected by the fire?”

”It’s not because they have an Indestructible Body,” Zhao Rong explained. ”It’s because that layer of strange fish skin they have is completely fireproof.”
