Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong and the assistant saw that the venomous scorpion hit by the Laser Cannon was completely unharmed, they said in disbelief, ”No way! Has this scorpion developed an Indestructible Body? Otherwise, it wouldn’t be immune to the Laser Cannon, right?”

Just as they were reeling in astonishment, the scorpion picked up speed, shaking its head smugly as it charged toward them. ”Thinking you can kill me with your Laser Cannon? You’re still too green...”

The assistant asked Zhao Rong in surprise, ”Zhao Rong, isn’t this strange? Just now, we killed that super lizard—which was ten times bigger than a scorpion—with a single blast from our Laser Cannon. So why can’t we kill this scorpion?”

Zhao Rong scratched the back of his head, unable to figure it out. ”I really don’t get it. Why can the Laser Cannon kill a super lizard but not this super scorpion? Wait a moment. I’m going to contact the seller right now. I need to get to the bottom of this. Could there be a quality issue with the Laser Cannon they sold me?”

With that, Zhao Rong immediately took out his phone, opened the Paradise Shopping Cart app, and contacted the seller. ”Seller, I want a refund...”

When the seller heard that Zhao Rong wanted a refund, they asked in surprise, ”Sir, did our Laser Cannon fail to kill that super lizard? Why would you want a refund?”

Zhao Rong said angrily, ”It’s not that your Laser Cannon didn’t kill the super lizard. It killed the super lizard, but it can’t kill this super scorpion!”

Hearing this, the seller explained in an aggrieved tone, ”Sir, when you bought our Laser Cannon, you said you needed to kill a super lizard. So, I sold you a Laser Cannon specifically designed to counter super lizards. But now you’re telling me you’re not dealing with a super lizard, but a super scorpion... This puts me in a very difficult position.”

At the seller’s words, Zhao Rong had an epiphany. ”So, you’re saying your shop sells different Laser Cannons for different types of super insects?”

The seller explained, ”Sir, when you’re shopping, you really should take a look at our customer reviews. Any of our Laser Cannons that have added cadmium can kill a super lizard with one shot, but they can’t kill other insects. The ones with added nickel can kill a super scorpion with one shot, but they won’t work on other super insects.”

Zhao Rong finally understood. He quickly said to the seller, ”Seller, I apologize for blaming you. Right now, I must buy a Laser Cannon that can deal with a super scorpion. Please send it to me urgently.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong needed to deal with a super scorpion, the seller immediately started packing the item while preparing the shipment. ”That’s easy,” he said. ”Once you buy our nickel-laced Laser Cannon, you’ll be able to blow that super scorpion to pieces with a single blast.”

When he heard how effective the nickel-laced Laser Cannon was against the super scorpion, Zhao Rong paid without a second thought and asked the seller to use the Super Express Cannon to ship it. The seller was very efficient. After receiving Zhao Rong’s WeChat payment, they immediately sent the package over with the Super Express Cannon.

At that moment, the super scorpion had already charged right up to Zhao Rong and the assistant. Just as it prepared to raise its tail and sting them, Zhao Rong suddenly took a step forward and shouted, ”Stop!”

When the super scorpion heard Zhao Rong shout ”stop,” it immediately halted. ”Damn it, are you brain-dead?” it asked in surprise. ”Shouting ’stop’ in the middle of a fight? This is a battle to the death! Either I kill you, or you kill me.”

Zhao Rong smiled at the scorpion. ”Super scorpion, didn’t you say my Laser Cannon has no effect on you? If you’ve got the guts, let me take another shot. We’ll see if my Laser Cannon can kill you this time.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s words, the scorpion burst out laughing and shook its head. ”You humans really underestimate my intelligence. Don’t think I didn’t hear the conversation you just had with the seller. I’m telling you now, I’m going to kill you and your assistant before you get your hands on that nickel-laced Laser Cannon. Otherwise, once you get it, I’d be no match for you even if I had three heads and six arms.”

When the assistant saw how unbelievably cunning the scorpion was, she gasped. Feeling gloomy, she said to Zhao Rong, ”Zhao Rong, you really should have spoken more quietly when you were buying the weapon from the seller. Look, the super scorpion overheard everything. Your efforts are about to be wasted! We have no way to defeat it now. What should we do? Are we really going to be stung to death today?”

Hearing the assistant, Zhao Rong took out the handheld Laser Cannon he had bought earlier for the super lizard. He aimed it at the scorpion and said to her, ”Don’t panic yet. I’m going to try shooting this scorpion with this cadmium-laced Laser Cannon and see what happens.”

When the scorpion saw Zhao Rong aiming the same Laser Cannon that was used on the super lizard at it, it stood its ground nonchalantly, baring its chest. ”For every foot the righteous advance, the wicked advance ten,” it taunted. ”You may be cunning, but you’ll never outsmart me. Go on, I’m standing right here. Hit me with your Laser Cannon. Let’s see which is stronger, your weapon or my armor.”

After all, the Laser Cannon in their hands doesn’t have any nickel in it, the scorpion thought. A blast from that thing will have no effect on me. I’ll just play along. The moment they fire, I’ll rush them when their guard is down and tear them to shreds.

When the assistant saw Zhao Rong preparing to shoot the scorpion with the old handheld Laser Cannon, she sank to the ground in utter despair. ”Zhao Rong, I know that shot won’t do a damn thing,” she said, her voice filled with disappointment. ”I’ll just sit here and wait for you to fire. Then we can face death together.”

However, before she could finish speaking, Zhao Rong fired the Laser Cannon at the scorpion. To her complete astonishment, the blast knocked the scorpion to the ground.
