Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 550: Chapter 325: Threats, Fleeing, Tribulation

Listening to what he said, Lin Chu gave him a long, hard look.

The call hadn’t ended.

”I understand. Head to the Philippines now. Get a head start, then go to the island. As for what I just told you to do, find someone you trust to handle it.”

For now, although the threat from Liszt had been temporarily neutralized, the danger from the outside world was growing even more intense.

Total online exposure.

This was far worse than getting slammed by the entire internet because some woman wrote a tell-all post about you.

That would just be a matter of morality.

But this was a matter of law.

Even though this world had two sets of rules, and he could—and did—operate by the unspoken ones, the public rules still had to be followed.

Now that something like this was out in the open, life was going to be extremely difficult.

He would be like a rat scurrying across the street—everyone would want to take a swing at him.

”Okay, I understand. Are you coming with me? Or do you have other plans?”

Gao Haitao asked, his tone grave.

The video currently circulating didn’t just show Lin Chu; he was in it, too. They were now completely in the same boat—though they always had been.

And yet, at this moment, Gao Haitao didn’t feel much panic.

There was still some room to maneuver.

”Don’t worry about me for now. Think about your family first. My advice is not to move them. Leaving them in the country is actually a form of protection.”

”Modern law doesn’t have a concept of punishing the whole clan. Even if they’re under surveillance, at least their physical safety won’t be an issue.”

”What you might need to worry about more is your child’s mental health... How’s your wife?”

”If your wife is the type who can handle the pressure with you, send them to the company’s benefit school. Or you could ask President Yuan for help and send them to his side.”

”Old Yuan might not be able to protect the two of us—it wouldn’t be realistic to expect him to—but he’ll have no problem protecting our families.”

Lin Chu spoke calmly. At a time like this, anger and other emotions were meaningless. The priority was to solve the problem.

On the other end of the line.

Hearing Lin Chu’s words, Gao Haitao sniffled.

He hadn’t expected that at a time like this, these were the things Lin Chu was worried about.

”Don’t worry about all that. I’m sure everything will be fine on my end.”

”What I’m worried about is the company...”

Gao Haitao’s tone grew more emphatic.

’To put it bluntly, even though his wife was a good woman and their relationship had been great for many years, that side of things wasn’t a major issue.’

’As long as he provided enough money, any problem could be solved.’

’It was true. From a legal standpoint, his wife and child wouldn’t bear any responsibility.’

’Lin Chu’s concern was, frankly, a little too considerate.’

”The company doesn’t matter. It’s just material possessions. If they get smashed, we’ll start over. I don’t lack the courage for that.”

”Even if I lose everything, give me five years, and I’ll be back on my feet again, good as new.”

”Lose the land to save the man, and both man and land will remain.”

”Go. Go now. Hurry. On that island, Brother Xiong is a 50/50 toss-up. I can’t be completely sure of his stance yet. Take a few more men with you. Make contact with him and sound him out.”

Lin Chu instructed again.

’The current situation was a bit like an outlaw going on the run. Xiong Jianwu had sworn an oath of brotherhood with him back on Bohe Island and seemed deeply loyal at the time, but you couldn’t fully trust something like that. People, after all, change.’

’The virtual panel hadn’t even authenticated him, so Lin Chu couldn’t trust him one hundred percent.’

Gao Haitao took a deep breath. ”Okay, I understand, Brother Chu. You take care of yourself. I’ll head over first and be the advance party.”

”Alright. Hanging up.”

Lin Chu hung up the phone, nonchalantly lit a cigarette, exhaled a cloud of smoke, and looked at Liszt.

The man was very calm.

Calmer than he was.

It would have been a lie for Lin Chu to say he didn’t hate the man who had orchestrated this entire storm, but hatred was useless.

”Tell me your plan. Besides the media firestorm, what other moves are you going to make against me?”

Lin Chu asked, as if he weren’t the one at the center of it all.

’From Liszt’s point of view, this current storm was his ”test” for him.’

’It was an absurd test, and one he refused to accept in his heart, but it had arrived all the same.’

Lin Chu didn’t think that a man as important as Liszt would make his test so simple. There had to be subsequent moves.

’Whether he chose to answer was his business, but he would ask anyway.’

Liszt blinked and said in a steady voice, ”The three people you shot and killed were from three different countries: China, America, and France. If all goes according to plan, their families will be filing lawsuits with the courts on the next business day. National powers will then get involved...”

”Forgive me. It has to be this way. Without this level of intensity, the test would be meaningless for you.”

”Even for news that makes global headlines, the timeliness is a week at most.”

He shrugged, a gesture both candid and apologetic.

Lin Chu couldn’t help but shake his head and chuckle.

”Brilliant!”

”Truly a brilliant move!”

”What else?”

”Is there more?”

Lin Chu pressed on.

’Clearly, the state and the law were just another weapon in the man’s hands.’

’Although once the state’s apparatus of violence got involved, things wouldn’t necessarily go according to Liszt’s design—the country wasn’t run by fools—it would still create additional complications for him.’

”And then... there are your rivals within the club. The other five people, and the other candidates competing with you for the same position.”
