Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 543: Chapter 322: ”A Loving and Harmonious Family

Outside, on the sun-drenched lawn, the men from the parked motorcade had already cleaned up the scene.

It was as if nothing had just happened.

Everything was back to normal.

Lin Chu watched them, his mind racing to figure out his opponent’s thoughts. This ”solution” probably wasn’t what Liszt had planned from the start, but a reaction, countering move for move.

’Putting myself in his shoes, his core objective is to control me, not kill me.’

’Of course, if he can’t control me, I can’t rule out the possibility he’ll go for the kill.’

’Once I’m clear on that, things become simpler. I’ll just have to counter his moves as they come. As long as I’m alive, anything is possible.’

’Even if I have to play along for now and join his club, that’s fine.’

’I can’t let myself be boxed in by rigid thinking.’

With that in mind, Lin Chu continued to observe them intently. He made a rough estimate: over twenty vehicles, and a team of nearly a hundred men.

Judging by their stances and degree of organization, they didn’t seem like soldiers. They were probably from a security company or something similar.

There were plenty of security companies in the world more formidable than LC Security, both at home and abroad. Although on the surface the rule was to avoid using force, it was definitely used when necessary. It just wasn’t something the general public knew about.

In a way, security companies could be considered the private ’armies’ of major capitalists.

Now, after cleaning up the scene, the men still hadn’t left. Some had gotten back into their vehicles, while others stood guard in the vicinity.

’They must be waiting.’

’Waiting for Liszt to arrive.’

Lin Chu figured that now that Liszt knew he was willing to open fire at any moment, his opponent’s next moves would be far more cautious.

’After all, the man isn’t a fool.’

’To him, short of an all-out firefight, I’d be a tough nut to crack.’

These men made no move toward the house, maintaining a safe distance.

”Ah Hui, where are our guys at?”

Lin Chu looked at Liu Chenhui and asked, while simultaneously tapping out a message to Gao Haitao: ”Did you get out?”

’There’s no doubt that this idyllic little town is now completely within the enemy’s ’surveillance perimeter’.’

’This level of tech is a real pain in the ass.’

’Of course, if I were the one in control of it, that would be fucking awesome.’

’But right now, I’m at a complete information disadvantage. It’s like I’m blind, forced to be reactive.’

Gao Haitao had left earlier, but whether he’d actually managed to get out was still an unknown.

’If he gets intercepted out there, I need to be prepared.’

Fortunately, a few seconds later, Lin Chu received Gao Haitao’s reply.

”I’m in the car. I’ve already cleared the town. Just talked to the guys—they’re about five minutes out. Four choppers, twenty-six men in total. What’s your situation?”

Gao Haitao had complicated feelings about the decision Lin Chu had just made.

In such a perilous situation, Lin Chu hadn’t fled. Instead, he had sent him out first.

That act went far beyond the bonds of a boss and his employee, or even friends and brothers. It was the bond of comrades-in-arms, who live and die together.

To him, Lin Chu was without a doubt the boss, the soul of their group.

’What makes a real boss?’

’The one who can shoulder the burden is the boss!’

As a bodyguard, Gao Haitao felt a pang of guilt, as if he were a deserter. He felt he had let Lin Chu down. His boss was still in there while he had escaped. But he wasn’t one for melodrama. He knew in his heart that this was the rational, mature choice.

It was an order from Lin Chu.

Any unnecessary hesitation or sentimentality would only waste precious time.

Someone had to be on the outside, coordinating their response.

Every countermeasure Lin Chu had proposed was correct, but they needed someone to execute them. The burden he now carried was not light. He had already dispatched reliable men to handle the initial preparations.

”I’m fine for now on my end. Their people came and took care of the bodies. We’re supposed to have dinner tonight, so it looks like they want to negotiate.”

”Our plan hasn’t changed.”

Lin Chu gave him a quick rundown of the situation, then paused. After a moment’s hesitation, he added, ”If I don’t make it, haha, I’ll have to trouble you to take good care of my dad.”

Lin Chu had already made up his mind about how to handle the current situation, but he still needed to arrange for his ’affairs’, just in case.

You can never rule out the worst-case scenario.

It was, as they say, a matter of embracing death to find life.

’For a moment, Lin Chu wondered, if I were to die right now, would I have any regrets? That night, the panel I saw in the bathroom... if I could choose again, would I still want it?’

’And... would I regret any of my past decisions, at every crossroad I faced? Even the women I’d wronged?’

’The final answer from the depths of his soul was: no regrets.’

’Maybe I just have a streak of madness in my personality. Excitement, insanity, adventure... at least I had a blast.’

Behind the wheel, Gao Haitao was rendered speechless for a moment when he read the message. He had to fight the urge to turn the car around. ”Understood. If it really comes to that, your dad will be my dad. The guys should be there soon.”

”Alright. That’s all for now.”

After sending the casual reply, Lin Chu shook his head and chuckled.

He lit another cigarette, opened the contact list on his phone, and stared at his father’s number. He hesitated for a moment but didn’t make the call.

’The option of asking my father for help has been off the table for a long time.’

’If I can get through this, there’s no need to tell him.’

’And if I don’t... if there’s a firefight tonight and I die here, then there’s even less reason to tell him.’

’As for my dad, it’s better for him to just live out his days in peace.’
