Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 501: Chapter 301: Brother Chu, He’s Boosting His Luck Again

”Yesterday at the auction, I saw nine pieces of Yuan Blue-and-White Porcelain and bought the whole lot. There are nine of us brothers, so it’s one for each.”

Lin Chu said, laying the groundwork.

”How much?”

Liu Junfeng asked with a casual laugh.

”Not much.”

Lin Chu replied nonchalantly.

At this, Lu Ming’s eyes suddenly widened. He stared at Lin Chu in disbelief. ’That’s fucking *not much*?’

’I’m the one who placed the bids!’

’One hundred fifteen million USD!’

He scratched his head, his lips moving, but in the end, he didn’t say anything. He just felt like his mind was about to explode.

”That thing you mentioned last night, what’s the situation?”

Li Kai asked, looking a little awkward.

Since getting married, he hadn’t hung out with his old friends much. He couldn’t resist joining them this time, but after so long, he felt a bit of distance between them.

”It’s a pretty big deal. Some damn financial tycoon has taken an interest in me. He’s invited me to meet in Switzerland next week.”

”It’s like a club, a fraternity, that kind of thing... When the time comes, I’ll go check it out. Bunch of sons of bitches.”

Lin Chu said with a roguish smile. There was no point in telling them the details; they couldn’t help, and he didn’t need any emotional comfort.

It is what it is.

’I’ve developed too quickly. My brothers can’t keep up at all.’

’So what can I do?’

’Other than smile and treat them all like my dear sons?’

”Holy shit? You’ve already reached that level?”

Wang Zhefei’s eyes widened. He found it hard to believe. Lin Chu probably had a few hundred million, maybe even a few billion, though no one knew where it came from... But to be involved at *that* level? It felt absurd to him.

It was too far removed from his reality.

’Is the guy fucking riding a rocket to the top?’

Lin Chu shrugged. ”I’m on a major lucky streak. You’ve never been rich, so you wouldn’t get it. Once you have your first pot of gold, the rest is just snowballing.”

Hearing Lin Chu’s casual words, the guys exchanged glances and collectively rolled their eyes.

’As if we’d believe you!’

’What kind of business snowballs to this extent?’

However, it was a well-worn topic and not worth discussing further. Sometimes, ignorance truly was bliss.

If he wasn’t talking, he had his reasons.

”Go for it. I don’t see a problem. This is just how things are now. Consider it being part of history... Is there anything I can do? Like, if you acquire a multinational corporation, you could make me the CEO or something,” Wang Zhefei said with a grin.

In truth, he had a lot to say after hearing the news, but with so many people in the car, it wasn’t the right time. He could only joke around for now.

”Sure,” Lin Chu quipped. ”In the future, I’ll grant you the lands of North America. Go on, move into that big white palace.”

The guys couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

A bunch of guys getting together and shooting the shit—it was a happy time.

When they arrived at the hotel, Lin Chu received a message from Li Kexin. The porcelain had been delivered, and they were waiting outside the room.

He’d already booked rooms for them.

After quickly parking the car, Lin Chu led the group upstairs. When they reached the door to their suite, they saw a dozen or so staff members from the auction house waiting, carefully holding large styrofoam boxes.

”Come in. Unload them.”

He swiped the key card to open the door. After the porcelain was taken out and arranged neatly on the table, Lin Chu dismissed the staff and then started calling his friends’ names one by one.

”Ah Fei, this thing is worth one hundred and fifteen million USD. I just won it at auction. It’s for you. Consider it a testament to our friendship,” Lin Chu said, gesturing to the most expensive piece, his tone suddenly very formal.

Wang Zhefei was completely stunned by this display.

Of course, the price of the porcelain itself was also stunning.

’How... How much?’

’One hundred and fifteen million... USD?’

”Are you fucking crazy? No, seriously, what is this for?”

”It’s not for anything. It’s just a gift. There’s a lot I can’t explain to you right now. Just take it. My situation is very complicated at the moment, so just think of it as you doing me a favor.”

Lin Chu furrowed his brow slightly, putting on an air of ’I’m harboring a great secret.’ His tone was serious and left no room for refusal.

Wang Zhefei was speechless.

’Fuck!’

’I fucking hate it when people are cryptic. What the hell is he playing at?’

Still, he was mentally prepared for something like this. After all, it was impossible for a total nobody to make this much money in six months without some kind of secret.

”Fine! Fuck! I’ll be waiting for the big reveal!”

”Tell me, what else do you need me to do?”

He threw his head back and readily agreed.

”Also...” Lin Chu chuckled softly. ”Can you call me ’Dad,’ just like old times? Please. Don’t make me get on my knees and beg.”

Lin Chu forced a smile, his voice low, almost as if he were giving his last words.

’Life is a stage, and it’s all about the performance.’

’I’m not actually trying to trick my brother. Of course, you can’t really call this a trick. It’s more like putting on a little show, casting a little spell.’

”Dad! Papa! Daddy! My dearest dad! Just be okay! That’s more important than anything!”

”Hey, maybe you should just quit whatever you’re doing.”

”I’ll support you!”

Wang Zhefei was at a loss for words. He patted Lin Chu’s shoulder, suddenly quoting the classic line. He felt a sense of frustration, wanting to help but being unable to, which left him not knowing whether to laugh or cry. A feeling of helplessness simmered inside him.

Lin Chu looked at the virtual panel that appeared before his eyes. Ten-fold rebate.

1.15 billion USD credited to his account.

Lin Chu licked his lips, a brilliant smile spreading across his face.

’Good brother!’

’Just as I’d expect from Daddy’s good boy.’

”There will be a chance, there will be a chance. The wheel of fortune turns. Thirty years on the east bank, thirty years on the west. Just you wait for my turn on the west bank.”

”Old Liu, this one’s for you. Ever since we met, I’ve always looked up to you as a big brother. Sure, I became the ’big brother’ later on, but that doesn’t mean a damn thing. Between brothers, we’re practically fathers and sons to each other. This is for you.”

Lin Chu then looked at Liu Junfeng. ’Among the group, Old Liu was the most easy-going. Getting a ten-fold rebate on these two most expensive items would account for the bulk of my earnings.’

”Tsk... Alright then. So, what, do I have to call you ’Dad’?”

He asked with a cheerful laugh.

”Call me ’Dad,’ and I’ll tell you a big secret.”

Since he’d already opened the door, Lin Chu naturally played along with a smile.

”For real? Dad?”

”Here!”

”The secret is... you’re not my biological son.”

Lin Chu said with a wicked grin, handing him the porcelain piece.

Liu Junfeng: ...

”Son of a bitch! Fuck! I thought you were gonna tell me a real secret, you dumbass! Hah...”

He laughed and cursed good-naturedly, picking up the porcelain piece. He glanced at it, seemingly not paying it much mind, and held it casually with one hand. ”How much is this thing worth?”

”Not much. A little over forty million USD, not quite fifty million.”

Lin Chu replied nonchalantly.

The panel appeared before his eyes again. Ten-fold rebate. 410 million USD.

’This whole act is a little awkward, but the rewards are seriously amazing!’

Hearing Lin Chu’s words, Liu Junfeng’s whole body jolted. He instinctively clutched the large jar with both hands, hugging it tightly to his chest before planting a loud kiss on it. SMACK.

”Dad!”

”Are there any more?”

”Great Dad!”

”Do I get one every time I call you that?”

”I can fucking call you that until you go bankrupt!”

He laughed, his tone wildly exaggerated.

Lu Ming chimed in with a laugh. ”Like hell it’s your turn! I’m still in line here... Hurry up, scram.”

Liu Junfeng shot him a glare and pinched his fingers together in a delicate pose. ”You’re horrible! The biggest stumbling block on my path to riches!”

Acting all coy, he hugged the jar and sat back down on the sofa.

At that moment, the atmosphere in the room turned slightly bizarre.

Everyone was laughing, but Lin Chu’s actions were truly bewildering.

It felt like some kind of sinister ritual.

Giving gifts was one thing, but insisting that people call him ’Dad’ felt a little awkward and very strange.

Only Hu Ping’an stood there, completely unperturbed. He wasn’t surprised at all, his mind flashing back to a scene in Lin Chu’s office a few months ago.

’Brother Chu, he’s at it again! Performing his luck-summoning ritual!’

’He did the same thing to me last time!’
