Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 512: Chapter 306: Treat Them Like People

After a quick review, Lin Chu casually hit publish.

It was... quite sensational.

It was like a throwback to the 90s, when companies gave employees free housing.

But for him, this kind of thing had very real benefits. Give things away, hand them out—it didn’t matter. It all came with a rebate.

Building morale and fostering loyalty... those benefits went without saying.

’I’m short on money right now!’

’Very short!’

’It’s not an urgent need, but in the long run, acquiring more high-quality foreign assets will require a colossal amount of money.’

’It’s better to share the joy than to keep it all to myself.’

’So I might as well let all the company’s employees share in the fruits of my money-printing.’

Before...

Giving benefits to all employees inevitably ran into one unavoidable problem: the system only gave rebates for money spent on men.

But with this new policy, the problem was perfectly solved, with no gender discrimination involved.

The email went out.

The executive chat group, the managers’ group, and the company-wide employee group all blew up at once.

No one had expected Lin Chu to release such an open letter at a time like this.

This...

It was just too insane, wasn’t it?

A free house for getting married?

And a free car?

What kind of company offers benefits like these?

”President Lin, have you... have you been drinking?”

Lin Chu suddenly received a private message on his WeChat.

It was from Jiang Fu.

He was stunned, completely and utterly stunned. ’What the hell... is he kidding me?!’

’What company would dare pull a stunt like this?’

’A single apartment in Peng City has to be worth millions, right?’

’Just giving them away like that?’

’Has he gone mad?’

’Many of the company’s divisions, especially retail and security, are still losing money. They haven’t even achieved net profitability yet.’

’Even if we were profitable, we couldn’t afford to burn money like this.’

Jiang Fu could only guess that Lin Chu had probably had too much to drink. He must have gotten carried away showing off to someone and wasn’t thinking about the consequences.

If he retracted the announcement now, it wouldn’t be too late.

It would damage their credibility, but that was better than the company collapsing, right?

”No, I’m serious. Just do as I say. Draft the detailed regulations as soon as possible. The company’s various divisions are thriving, and it’s time to let all employees share in the fruits of our collective labor.”

”The houses and cars will be given as gifts from the company. Of course, you’ll need to handle the risk control measures to prevent people from gaming the system. But the guiding principle is: we’re giving them away!”

”There is no upper limit on the annual budget for this policy.”

Lin Chu replied quickly.

He believed that the vast majority of people were good and had a conscience, but he also had to consider the possibility of others exploiting loopholes.

He could be generous, but he refused to be taken for a fool.

But he could leave those details for Jiang Fu and the others to figure out.

Seeing Lin Chu’s reply, Jiang Fu was speechless.

’He’s mad!’

’He’s really gone mad!’

He now felt that this company might be a sinking ship.

’The boss is so unreliable!’

”Can... can I apply too?”

”I’m not married yet.”

With a sense of throwing caution to the wind, Jiang Fu asked again.

His own annual salary was in the millions, roughly the cost of a regular apartment. It wasn’t that he was being calculating about it; he just felt antsy and decided to act out a little.

”Of course!”

”I’ll give you a budget of twenty million. Go pick out a place.”

”Once you’ve found one, I’ll foot the bill.”

”Don’t be shy. I have more money than I can spend right now.”

”If you want to do great things, you need to have a broad perspective. You have to be empathetic. How does that saying go? ’If a ruler treats me as a national treasure, I will serve him with the devotion of one.’ Food, clothing, housing, transportation—these are the most basic needs of every employee. If I can’t even satisfy those, what’s the point of running a company? Do I really want to treat people like beasts of burden?”

”Treat them like human beings! You’re going to be the general manager one day. Don’t act like some kind of sellout foreman.”

Lin Chu sensed what he was thinking and decided to elaborate.

After all, this VP was pretty good. Judging from his performance recently, he handled everything in a neat and orderly fashion.

Business development takes time, so there hadn’t been any major breakthroughs yet.

But when it came to holding down the fort, he was perfectly capable.

At this moment, as he read Lin Chu’s message, Jiang Fu’s brow furrowed, but a strange tingle pricked his nose, and he felt as if he’d been punched in the gut.

’What kind of boss is this?’

’What kind of vision is this?’

’This, this is true entrepreneurial spirit!’

He was suddenly struck by a deep sense of shame. It was true—his own perspective had been too narrow.

An amazing company might use all sorts of methods, even dirty tricks, when dealing with outsiders. After all, the marketplace is a battlefield.

But when it came to distributing wealth, to its own employees, it had to be upright and humane.

When people are united, they can move mountains.

It was just as Lin Chu had said... if you treat your employees like beasts of burden, they’ll want to string you up from a lamppost.

”President Lin, I was mistaken. I admit my error. In all my years, you are the most principled and daring entrepreneur I have ever met. I am proud to work for LC Group. And I’m not just sucking up—I mean it from the bottom of my heart.”

Seeing his message, Lin Chu sent a casual reply.

”Good. Then it’s settled.”

”Go draft the regulations.”

”I’ve got something to do on my end, so I’ll talk to you later.”

Ending the chat, Lin Chu took a sip of wine and went back to watching the song and dance performance.

Being rich means you can be as capricious as you want!

And since he could basically print money, he could be even more so!

_Oh, for a great mansion of a million rooms, to shelter all the poor scholars of the world in joyful reunion!_

...

「Meanwhile.」

The main company group chat had completely blown up.

Even Gao Haitao and the bodyguards standing nearby had seen the email. They stared at Lin Chu, dumbfounded and in utter disbelief.

They completely lost interest in the lavish song and dance performance before them.

”Brother Chu, are you serious?”

Gao Haitao asked, his voice wavering.

This is too wild!

Seriously, it’s too wild!

This was a company-wide announcement!

It wasn’t just targeted at the senior executives!

Does that mean every single employee qualifies?

How much would that cost?

”Of course I’m fucking serious. And hey, as executives, you all need to set an example. Lead the charge in getting married. Wait, you’re already married, aren’t you? Want to get a divorce and do it again?”

Lin Chu said with a grin, his tone comically exaggerated. He was obviously joking.

Gao Haitao couldn’t help but laugh, waving his hands dismissively.

”My wife and I get along great, so I think I’ll pass... HAHAHAHA...”

The bodyguards nearby also couldn’t help but chuckle.

The men nudged each other privately.

In the end, it was Tang Qiang who stepped forward. ”President Lin, are we eligible too? Or is there a waiting list? Not that a waiting list is a problem, of course, I’m just asking. Heh heh. The benefits the company and you are offering... they’re just too tempting.”

”There’s no company in the world this incredible!”

”I was so excited just now I almost cried.”

”The whole reason I gritted my teeth and came abroad for a high-paying job was because I couldn’t afford a house back home.”

he said with sincere, unadorned honesty.

”Of course you’re eligible. Everyone is. And since you’re here, how about this: for the Paris branch, however many employees you have, forget about the marriage requirement. Go start looking for apartments tomorrow. As long as I’m still in Paris, once you’ve picked them out, I’ll pay for them directly. One for each of you, my treat.”

”Be quick about it, within three days. I’m flying somewhere else after that.”

”As for the paperwork and all that, if you’re not eligible, just find a broker. Hell, there’s nothing in this world money can’t fix.”

Lin Chu nodded with a smile, his tone remarkably casual.

’Since I’m here anyway...’

’...might as well hand out some perks to the guys.’

’Even though it breaks the rule I just established, it doesn’t matter.’

’I’m the one who’s here, after all.’

’I make the rules.’

’And what I say, goes.’

’Special circumstances call for special measures.’

’My guys working overseas really don’t have it easy. This is a foreign country. If they could be happy and settled, who would choose to be a wanderer so far from home?’

’Finding a woman to marry in three days would be pretty tough for them, but finding an apartment? No problem at all!’

’I’ll buy them!’

Hearing Lin Chu’s words...

Tang Qiang and the other men were instantly overcome with an indescribable excitement.

It was absurd.

Truly absurd.

But it was happening right before their very eyes, as real as could be.

’Holy mother of god!’

’What kind of god-tier boss is this?!’
