Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 535: Chapter 318: Grandmaster of Capital Manipulation, Super Luxurious Chaotic Scene

Among the flood of news, Lin Chu paid special attention to Frederick’s social media.

This was the man behind the Crazy Horse Show.

He was the young third son of the LV Group and one of the top figures in the entertainment industry.

He himself hadn’t yet made any comments on the matter, but the comment section under his previous posts was certainly abuzz with all sorts of reactions.

Some expressed regret...

Some were gloating...

And some were full of sarcasm and ridicule...

Lin Chu figured that the other party probably wouldn’t make a big deal out of this. After all, the Crazy Horse Show wasn’t exactly an asset they could openly boast about. Besides, he’d learned from Li Kexin that they had even considered selling it.

The blow still wasn’t painful enough.

’Deep down, I know this was nothing more than a small test run—a way to test out the team and gauge my own power.’

’To truly achieve my ultimate goal, these methods are, in the end, just petty tricks, not fit for the grand stage.’

’The methods that can truly be brought to the table are, naturally, those of capital and finance.’

With that, Lin Chu opened the stock market app and glanced at the day’s opening trends.

Currently, the LV Group’s overall stock price was on a downward trend, already carving out a major decline.

That had nothing to do with him, though. After all, the global economy was in a slump, and luxury spending had plummeted.

In the past year, after being the world’s richest for less than a month, the Arnault Family’s fortunes had turned. They had been knocked from the top spot, and their market value had evaporated by over 150 billion euros from its peak.

However, even though Lin Chu didn’t know much about the stock market, he had a gut feeling that now wasn’t a good time to buy the dip in the secondary market.

Because this was nowhere near the bottom.

It was going to fall further.

This matter had to be approached slowly and methodically.

He got up, washed up, and half an hour later, met with Bian Gaige.

Now that the bank acquisition was a done deal, it was time to speed things up.

”There’s one more thing. I want to acquire 5% of the LV Group’s stock. Secondary market, primary market, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, this is a short-term goal—let’s say three months. For the specific execution, I’ll have to leave it to you.”

Lin Chu said with a chuckle, feeling a bit sheepish.

’I really am a demanding client.’

’My requests just keep piling on.’

’From acquiring a bank, to recruiting, and now to buying stocks... I’m just adding more and more. The old man is over sixty; it’s a lot to put him through.’

’But hey, the more capable you are, the more work you do.’

’Right now, I really don’t have any financial experts on hand. This makeshift team is highly dependent on Bian Gaige’s connections and influence; they aren’t my own employees.’

Bian Gaige gave him a meaningful look, stroked his chin, and rolled his eyes.

He had anticipated this.

Maybe not with perfect accuracy, but he wasn’t far off.

When you start a bank in Europe, you’re definitely not in it for the savings and loan business. How much money is in that?

Beisen Bank itself didn’t get its start that way.

With enough capital, you’re naturally going to get into stocks, investments, mergers and acquisitions...

The target Lin Chu had chosen was also quite suitable.

A blue-chip stock.

His luxury goods business also overlapped significantly with the LV Group’s.

Overall, he was very pleased with this move from Lin Chu.

”It’s doable. There’s only one month left this year, so the timeline is a bit tight. Let’s extend it. Six months. There’s no rush.”

”Going straight for the top dog in the global luxury industry... you’ve got a big appetite and a grand vision. But some things are best done slowly; the slower you go, the smoother it gets.”

”But that’s not how you break down a goal. I have an idea. See what you think.”

”Domestically, this industry is currently a blank slate, or close to it. Louis Vuitton is too rich a meal; you’ll choke on it. You can accumulate their stock slowly. Instead, you could start by picking a suitable target from the top 5-10 companies, or even one ranked lower than 10th.”

”You don’t even need to go after a whole group’s business. Start with the individual pieces: cosmetics, bags, perfume, clothes, watches, sports cars... For each category, let’s say one brand is enough for now.”

”If you take on too much, it will be hard to integrate everything later.”

”I suggest starting with a sports car company. Sports cars have prestige. Once you acquire one, you can gradually merge the brand with LC. Then, do the same with the remaining brands, one by one.”

Bian Gaige laid out his detailed suggestions.

If he were doing this himself, this is how he would do it. The path to success would be clearer and more controllable.

Lin Chu frowned slightly.

He had actually considered this path before, but not in such clear terms, and had ultimately opted for an outright acquisition of the whole thing.

Now that Bian Gaige had made his suggestion, Lin Chu felt his own resolve waver. He felt that trying to take down the LV Group directly through the capital markets was indeed a bit too difficult.

Breaking the task into a more indirect approach actually seemed like a more feasible strategy.

”That could work. Do you have professionals on hand who handle this kind of thing?”

Lin Chu considered this, smiled, and followed up with the question.

”Yes... there’s an old fellow. This is his bread and butter, and his methods are brilliant. But I’ll have to ask his opinion first.”

”I reckon he’ll be very interested.”

”Let’s wait a few days. This isn’t urgent, after all. We need to settle the bank acquisition first.”

Bian Gaige said, perfectly at ease.

TSK.

Hearing this, Lin Chu felt a sense of certainty.

’It really is true what they say: an old person in the house is like a treasure.’

’This old dog, despite his age, is proof that the older the ginger, the spicier it is.’
