Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 509: Chapter 305: Night Paris, the Godfather, the Unrestrained Lin Chu

The main street outside was relatively fine.

This alley, however, was a cesspool of filth, and the reek of urine was overwhelming.

A bodyguard scratched his head, explaining with an awkward smile, ”It’s a shortcut. Our destination is just across the road after this alley.”

”Forget it, it’s fine.”

Lin Chu waved his hand and walked cautiously.

”Paris... Does it have an underworld?” Lin Chu suddenly asked.

’I’ve heard a lot about it online—snatched purses, muggings, that sort of thing. To be honest, I kind of want to experience it for myself now.’

’Just for a bit of fun.’

’But with five hulking bodyguards trailing me... I doubt any clueless foreigner would be stupid enough to try anything.’

’It’s... actually a bit of a shame.’

Tsk.

”Of course, a ton of them!”

”They don’t call it the European Gotham for nothing.”

”The area we just walked through is full of tourists, so there are a lot of local police too. The bad guys usually stay away from here.”

”But in the neighborhood next to the company, the one with a large African population, it happens all the time. I’ve even played basketball with them.”

”We even got into a fight on the basketball court once. There were more than twenty of them, and the five of us absolutely destroyed them. Now, whenever their leader sees me, he has to offer me a cigarette,” a bodyguard behind him said, a hint of smug pride in his voice.

In a place like this, might makes right.

Guns were rarely used; knives were the worst of it.

Lin Chu looked at him with a hint of ”envy” and smiled. ”Take me to see it tomorrow.”

”Is it possible for us to start from here and build something big?”

The bodyguard: ???

Gao Haitao: ...

He was rendered speechless for a moment.

He realized that Lin Chu was very interested in martial prowess. Perhaps it was because such things were lacking back home, but it was also a personal hobby of his.

He’d known for a while about Lin Chu undergoing military training in Russia.

People had already been sent to that base to negotiate an acquisition; it would become one of the Security Group’s training facilities in the future.

Having to deal with such a ”warmongering” boss, Gao Haitao felt rather helpless.

Coming from a bodyguard background, his typical mindset was purely defensive.

As long as others didn’t start trouble, everything was fine.

But clearly... that wasn’t Lin Chu.

Lin Chu was the type who loved to stir up trouble; he was very proactive about it.

”Well...”

”It’s not impossible.”

”As long as the money’s there.”

”Bribe who needs to be bribed, recruit who can be recruited, and beat who needs to be beaten! Taking over everything might be impossible, but securing a few blocks would be no problem.”

”But what’s the point of messing with a bunch of scumbags like that?” a bodyguard behind them chuckled, clearly intrigued. ’The boss’s way of thinking really suits my taste. He wants to rule both sides of the law!’

”For fun...”

”What else would it be for?”

”What’s your name? Just go with your idea. Old Gao, approve his funding. Give him however much he wants, but I’ll be checking your progress every month.”

”Also, don’t use my name when you’re out there. If you really build a crew, do it all under Boss Gao’s name. Or your own.”

Lin Chu said with a casual smile, as if it were the most trivial thing in the world.

The bodyguard was completely stunned.

’He never imagined that such an immense fortune would suddenly land in his lap.’

’If he really did this, it would mean... endless piles of cash!’

’Sure, there were risks, like getting arrested and going to prison.’

’But if it came to that, there was no way the boss wouldn’t get him out.’

’With money, what was impossible?’

’Was an exorbitant bail fee unpayable?’

’Or were the doors of the police station truly unbreakable?’

”President Lin, my name is Tang Qiang.”

”Uh, hahaha, I kind of feel like I’m about to become the Godfather,” he said, joking.

’Thinking about it, it actually sounds pretty awesome.’

”Alright, we’ll use your name then. Tang, a good surname! Easy for foreigners to understand.”

”From now on, I’m entrusting you with the heavy responsibility of maintaining order in the underworld of Night Paris. Do a good job.”

”Brother Qiang!”

Lin Chu patted his shoulder very deliberately, unable to keep from laughing out loud.

Tang Qiang knew his cue and immediately started flattering him, ”President Lin, please don’t tease me. What kind of Godfather am I? You’re the real Godfather!”

The men all broke into laughter.

Even the foul, stinking air suddenly seemed a little more pleasant.

...

The cabaret show at the Moulin Rouge was truly magnificent. The performers wore very little, the style a mix of extravagance and elegance.

Many of the guests coming and going also looked like tourists.

It seemed the place was quite famous.

Lin Chu filmed a short clip of a less revealing part of the show and casually posted it to his social media feed.

”Night Paris.”

He considered it just a little memento.

’Anyway, the only reason to post on social media is to show off.’

’I used to hate those people who’d go on a trip and spam their feed with photos!’

’Pah!’

’So what if you went abroad? What’s the big deal?’

’Now I’ve become the very person I used to hate. Maybe... this is just fate.’

’Besides...’

’Wherever I go, I want to make friends.’

’It’s just that I haven’t found the right opportunity yet.’

’On Bian Gaige’s end, it’s all been business negotiations.’

’They have their own acquaintances in academia and finance.’

’Those circles are highly specialized, and I haven’t had a chance to meet anyone from them.’

’On the Security Group’s side, the social circle is a bit too low-tier; they’re all just regular working stiffs.’

’If I want to have more fun, I’ll have to do the digging myself.’

’How am I supposed to rack up spending if I don’t meet new friends?’

’If I keep fleecing the same few people, they’ll go bald.’

’It’s time to expand my core circle of bros.’

’I met Rashid in Dubai; here in Paris, I want to make a friend on a similar level.’

’Posting on my feed isn’t going to accomplish that, though.’
