Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 513: Chapter 307: Lin Chu’s Sentiments and ”Professionalism”, Bootlicker Tang Qiang, Habsburg

It was nearly midnight, and a good number of people had left the Moulin Rouge.

The performance on stage was also coming to a close.

Lin Chu had had a couple more drinks and was now pleasantly buzzed, in high spirits. ℯℯ𝑙.

The company-wide CEO letter he sent tonight was, for him, both a flash of inspiration and a major step forward.

Across all its departments, the entire LC Group had nearly five thousand employees.

’I’ll make sure every employee can live a good life!’

This filled Lin Chu’s heart with a quiet, inexplicable sense of nobility.

After all, besides a rich kid like Lu Ming, what man hadn’t had to struggle to get by?

He had been the same way.

Because he had been caught in the rain.

He wanted to hold an umbrella for others.

Besides, with his rebates, it was a win-win situation.

”Let’s get another bottle. We can drink a little longer, since we’re already here.”

In no hurry to leave, Lin Chu said with a smile to Gao Haitao, who immediately stood up and waved over a waiter.

Just then,

Lin Chu’s phone began to ring insistently.

A glance at the caller ID showed it was Zhang Peng.

With a faint smile, Lin Chu lit a cigarette and casually answered the call.

’Zhang Peng must be back in the country.’

’After all, he didn’t have any real business in Dubai. He’d just been having fun for a few days, treating it as a vacation.’

”Brother Chu, what’re you up to?”

Zhang Peng asked with a chuckle, his voice tinged with a bit of exhaustion.

”Nothing much, just having a few drinks. What’s up? Are you back yet?”

Lin Chu had no idea why he was suddenly calling in the middle of the night. It was rather puzzling.

”I’m back. I’m at the office—just finished a meeting with some executives. I saw the company-wide CEO letter you sent out and wanted to ask what’s going on?”

Lin Chu could faintly detect a sense of caution in Zhang Peng’s voice.

They’d never had a conversation with this kind of atmosphere before.

Even though he’d been drinking, Lin Chu was still sharp enough to perceive the shift in tone.

”There’s no special situation. It’s exactly what it looks like.”

”You have something on your mind? Just say it.”

Lin Chu said bluntly.

At that, he had a pretty good idea of what this was about, and his eyes narrowed.

”Hahaha... I... Let me just share a few thoughts. Please don’t get mad, just hear me out first.”

”Okay, so here’s the thing. First off, I’m not against giving employees benefits. But just giving them houses outright... isn’t that a bit of a huge leap?”

”The standard practice at most major companies is to offer employees interest-free loans—say, five hundred thousand—and tie them to a three-to-five-year contract. They get an interest-free loan, and the repayments are deducted from their salary in installments. This gives them a real benefit while also helping with the retention of key personnel.”

”If you do this... what happens if they quit? What does that make our company?”

”That’s my first point.”

”Second, there’s the issue of the company going public. The media division, even if we spin it off for a separate IPO later, is still part of the parent group. For the group to spend such a large sum of money on employee benefits every month... that goes against the regulations for a publicly listed company.”

This was Zhang Peng’s main concern.

When he saw that open letter, his heart sank. It was like swallowing a giant scoop of ice cream, a chill running straight through him.

’If Brother Chu keeps this up, he’s going to wreck everything.’

’He even wondered if some treacherous courtier had gotten to Brother Chu and was whispering poison in his ear.’

After listening patiently, Lin Chu gently tapped his knuckles on the table, his brow furrowed slightly.

To be fair, Zhang Peng had a point.

His approach was, indeed, a little too radical.

After a moment’s thought, Lin Chu quickly came up with a solution.

And that was...

...to pay for it from his personal account.

If it didn’t go through company channels, then everything would be fine.

”Don’t worry. I’ll pay for it myself, out of my personal account. It won’t go through the company. As for the houses, we’ll go through Famous Real Estate. I’m a shareholder there, so of course, we’ll buy from our own. Besides, Famous Real Estate is about to go public soon, so this will help boost their performance numbers.”

Lin Chu said nonchalantly.

When you had this many resources at your disposal, it was an incredibly simple matter.

A problem that gave Zhang Peng a headache could be solved, for him, with a single phone call.

”Alright, then. I guess I was worrying for nothing. Haha, my bad, my bad.”

After hearing what Lin Chu said, Zhang Peng was completely reassured.

’As long as it doesn’t affect the IPO, anything goes.’

’Brother Chu could spend his money on whomever he wanted.’

’He was already quite used to it.’

”Anything else?”

Lin Chu asked.

”There is one more thing. I’d like to get your opinion. Although you’ve always given me a free hand with the media division, this involves major company strategy, so I still need to run it by you.”

”Right now, our company’s profits from live-streaming e-commerce are relatively stable. But achieving a major breakthrough will be difficult. The entire industry has peaked and is now starting to decline.”

”The profit prospects for the intangible cultural heritage products aren’t very clear yet. Right now, they don’t even make up one percent.”

”I think if we’re going to go public, we need some more stable pillars for the business. I’m thinking of acquiring a film and television company. We could start by producing a few movies, TV series, or even web dramas to test the waters.”

”Our current infrastructure is mostly in place, and in terms of scale, we’re considered a second-tier MCN company. We need to stay on our toes and plan for the future.”

Zhang Peng laid out his thoughts clearly.

He wanted to spend money!

A lot of money!

A lot of Lin Chu’s money!

And he was doing it openly and respectably, all for the sake of the company’s future.
