Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 523: Chapter 313: Viceroy, Chaotic Gray, Crazy Horse

Leaving the conference room, Lin Chu returned to his own room.

After a moment’s thought, he decided to give Liu Junfeng a call.

”Brother Feng, how do you like Paris? I’m buying a bank here, and I want you to be a director. I’m seriously short-staffed. Just hold the fort for two years, and once we have more people, you can step down if you want. This is a desperate plea for help.”

There were seven board seats. Old Bian could fill two of them—both operations-heavy positions—which left the other five for Lin Chu to coordinate himself.

It wasn’t that there were no positions available.

Rather, the problem was too many openings and not enough people.

After all, they were developing so quickly that their logistics and talent pool couldn’t keep up at all.

The group had previously recruited a batch of students from Qingbei as management trainees, but they had only been there for a few months and were far from being seasoned enough.

Liu Junfeng: ...

He was just sitting at home when good fortune fell from the sky.

Back when they were in Dubai, they had all found out that Lu Ming was going to take charge of the entire Dubai operation.

If you viewed the LC Group as a business empire, then this was the equivalent of being appointed a viceroy.

And while there was no real envy, jealousy, or hatred, he couldn’t help but feel a little emotional about it.

The guy was on a career elevator that shot up like a rocket.

He had taken off in the blink of an eye.

Previously, whether it was his position at the club or at the group’s headquarters, he was mostly just going through the motions—clocking in, getting paid, not having to make any real decisions or bear any real responsibility.

A company that large ran on its own momentum anyway.

Of course, he wasn’t about to rock the boat, either.

But now, getting this call from Lin Chu, Liu Junfeng was also dumbfounded.

’So... it’s my turn now?’

”Hey, you’re moving so fast you’re going to give me whiplash.”

”But hey, what the hell, I’ll go. I’m just a brick, ready to be moved wherever I’m needed.”

Liu Junfeng said, a cheeky grin in his voice.

’Why would I ever refuse?’

’A bank!’

’A director!’

’DUM-DUM-DA-DAAA! Mom, Dad, your son’s made it big!’

”Damn, you sound a little reluctant. Say that again.”

Lin Chu teased with a laugh.

’What a character.’

’He hits the jackpot and still plays coy.’

”Hahahaha... Yes, President Lin! I guarantee I will complete the mission!”

Liu Junfeng roared with laughter, his voice firm and resounding.

”Mm, that’s more like it. Get over here as soon as you can. Come to Paris. Elder Bian is still negotiating the acquisition, so you can join the team first, get familiar with everything, and then you can hit the ground running.”

Lin Chu gave him the instructions, chatted for a few more moments, and then hung up the phone.

Tsk.

And so, the second ”viceroy” was grandly born.

It wasn’t a matter of whether he was capable or not. It came back to the same principle: for specific business operations, find professional talent.

For personnel and financial authority, find trustworthy and reliable people.

This was the unavoidable path for all large corporations.

Even though it might sacrifice some efficiency and initiative, it was the only way.

In the process of building his company up step by step, Lin Chu now understood why many of the leaders he’d met in the past seemed like complete idiots, yet still managed to hold their positions.

A person’s energy is inevitably limited.

You can only prioritize people you are familiar with.

’Besides, the work is more or less the same. It is what it is. Does it really matter who does it?’

Aside from the heaven-sent geniuses, most people are just ordinary.

Including himself.

One spot filled, four to go.

After hanging up, Lin Chu mentally went through his list again, and another candidate’s name popped into his head: Xin Fu.

The former Vice President of Sales at the golf club.

Ever since the club had been spun off, he hadn’t managed it much. He’d just look at the year-end financial audit results. Even if he wanted to be more involved, he didn’t have the energy.

But Lin Chu had an extremely deep impression of Xin Fu.

”President Lin, you were looking for me?”

Xin Fu’s voice was slightly hoarse when he answered Lin Chu’s call.

”Yes. How have things been lately?”

Lin Chu asked casually.

”Very well. All performance metrics are on the rise. Ever since we hosted the Gold Professional Tournament, our course has been booked solid daily. Competitors have tried a few little tricks, but it’s nothing major.”

Xin Fu replied, choosing his words carefully.

”And you? Are you interested in moving up?”

”You’re a master at sales and public relations. I’m acquiring a foreign bank right now, and the client management division needs a Vice President. Want to give it a shot?”

Lin Chu asked in a relaxed tone. ’Being able to reach the top in any field is already proof of his ability and professionalism.’

’Now that the golf club is well-established, there isn’t much room for growth there anymore.’

”Oh? And where exactly would the job be located?”

After a brief moment of surprise, Xin Fu asked cheerfully. ’Moving from domestic to international, from high-end services to the financial industry—this is a major change in my career path, but it’s also a massive opportunity for me.’

’The boss appreciates me.’

’If I can pull this off, it’ll be a huge leap forward.’

”Europe. Luxembourg, Paris, Lisbon, London, maybe the United States later on. Don’t worry, the benefits will be good. You don’t drive a Rolls-Royce on a gravel road, do you?”

”Come on, it’s decided. Give it a try first. I’ll give you three years. If you feel it’s not a good fit, you can go back to the club. Don’t worry, your old position will still be there. That’s my word.”

Lin Chu said with a casual laugh, but his tone quickly became firm and decisive.

Xin Fu: ...

”Alright. Since you’ve put it that way, I’ll give it a shot. When do you need me to start?”

He knew that Lin Chu wasn’t a very patient person. When he spoke like this, it was less of an offer and more of a notice.

’The work environment is acceptable; after all, those are all developed areas.’
