Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 345: Chapter 241: Big Brother Meets Big Brother, An Unexpected Livestream Incident

”Brother Long.”

Lin Chu looked at Jackie Chan.

He smiled and waved at the screen. ”Hello everyone, I’m Jackie Chan. To all my friends in the stream, good evening... Wow, your stream is so popular! You’re about to hit a hundred thousand viewers.”

Instantly, the comments started flooding in.

”Holy shit, Brother Long!”

”What a flex, streamer!”

”Unbelievable, he even managed to get him!”

”Did you guys just finish drinking? Why are both of your faces so red?”

”What are you doing in Xiangjiang? ’Field research’? What kind of ’field research’?”

”Obviously he’s there for some Lou Feng ’field research’! It’s not like he went to see the Flying Tigers!”

”I don’t envy lovers or gods, I just envy President Lin every single day.”

”Gimme the gossip! What’s the deal with that female celebrity!”

”Did you go to Xiangjiang to go on a date with her today?”

”I’m so jealous, for real. A few days ago I thought you were a bootlicker, but now I see... I’m sorry, I was too shallow.”

Looking at the comments, Lin Chu hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should call Jin Zhenxian over to make an appearance and heat up the scandal even more.

But after a moment’s thought, he decided against it.

’It would be too deliberate.’

Besides, it could easily throw off the style of his stream.

His streaming persona was all about being one of the bros!

’Definitely no female celebrities!’

Tonight’s stream, just like usual, wasn’t seeing an exaggerated boost in popularity even with Jackie Chan’s presence. It was just a bit more lively, that’s all.

After all, the viewers’ threshold for excitement had been raised.

They saw celebrities every day.

And, of course, there were plenty of people who weren’t fans of Jackie Chan.

”Brother Long, I heard you have friends all over the world. Is that true?”

A viewer who had connected to the stream suddenly asked.

Hearing this, Jackie Chan hesitated for a moment before smiling graciously. ”I’m already 70 years old this year, so of course I’d know a few more people. I’m an old man, after all.”

Hm?

At this, Lin Chu couldn’t help but glance at him, surprised. ’He’s seventy already?’

From his appearance, he only looked like he was in his fifties.

Of course, rich people are bound to take good care of themselves, and on top of that, his body was naturally strong.

”President Lin, Brother Long, I have something to say. If you know anyone who can help... I don’t know if it’s possible... could you help—help me?”

”My younger brother, my own brother, was kidnapped while traveling in Southeast Asia. There’s been no news, no news at all, for two months now.”

”There haven’t been any ransom demands. We just don’t know where he is. He’s definitely not a bad person, just a regular small-business owner. He used to run a breakfast shop, worked very hard, and had a stable monthly income. There’s no way he would have willingly gotten involved in anything bad. We just don’t know what kind of accident happened.”

”I know this is very forward of me, but I’m truly at my wit’s end. My elderly mother is at home; she’s practically cried her eyes out. I’m in Nha Trang right now, still searching for him everywhere.”

”This is my ID card. My name is Lu Dahai. I’m a veteran, and I used to work as a security guard. Everything I’ve said is true. Please, share this. I’m sorry to trouble you, President Lin and Brother Long...”

In the video feed, Lu Dahai held up his ID card. He looked travel-worn and exhausted, his eyes were bloodshot, and tears were welling up.

This unexpected situation genuinely surprised Lin Chu.

’At a time like this?’

’He’s still in the mood to watch a livestream?’

Using his spare phone, he tapped on the man’s profile picture and glanced at his homepage. It was almost entirely filled with videos about the search, asking for them to be shared across the internet. He had posted nearly a hundred of them, but they had very little engagement.

At this moment, the viewers in the chat exploded with activity.

”Holy shit! Bro! You’ve been through a lot! But... where the hell are they supposed to look? Aren’t you putting the streamer in a tough spot?”

”Well, that’s one way to get your message out to the whole internet.”

”President Lin is super popular now, he should share it.”

”Anyone in the stream in Southeast Asia?”

”Bro, hit me up, I’m in Bangkok!”

”This is heartbreaking...”

After looking through Lu Dahai’s homepage, Lin Chu was mostly convinced of the story’s authenticity. He thought for a moment, then looked over at Jackie Chan.

Jackie Chan was clearly taken aback by the situation as well.

However, seeing how emotional the chat had become, he glanced at Lin Chu and sighed softly.

”I only know people at the embassy. I can help you get in touch with them.”

”As for anything else, I don’t have a better way to help.”

In this kind of public setting, even if he was well-connected and truly knew people with shady backgrounds, he obviously couldn’t say so. He could only offer this for now.

Lin Chu looked at him, seeming to guess the hidden meaning. ”Buddy, here’s what we’ll do. Add me on WeChat first, and we’ll chat privately. I’ll help however I can, and if there’s something I can’t do, well, there’s nothing to be done. But as for money, just say the word and I’ll definitely support you.”

”Thank you, thank you both! I’ll add you, I’ll add you right now! I’m sorry for causing you trouble. I don’t want the prize I won, you can... you can give it to someone else. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m just at the end of my rope...”

Lu Dahai said, sniffling and choking back sobs.

He was just like a helpless child who had nowhere left to turn.

Hearing this, many of the viewers in the stream flooded the chat with a dense new wave of comments.

This guy is pretty decent.

It seemed he really had no other options and came here to try his luck, just on the off chance it might work.

Running into something like this was just a lifetime’s worth of bad luck.

At that moment, feeling the atmosphere in the stream, Lin Chu couldn’t help but press his lips together.

’Saving a life is, of course, pretty important.’

’Besides, if this is handled well, the publicity could be just as effective as the ”scandal hype,” if not more so.’

’And with a sudden incident like this, boosted by the stream’s popularity... I’ve been put on the spot. With great power comes great responsibility. And to be pragmatic, this is also a good opportunity to ”reinforce my persona.”’

’I should help if I can.’
