Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 344: Chapter 241: Big Brother Meets Big Brother, An Unexpected Situation in the Livestream Room

He had already accepted the invitation to the golf course’s opening ceremony, which established a foundation for future collaboration.

Besides, Lin Chu had been frequently inviting male stars from Xiangjiang to his stream over the past few days. He came across as both broad-minded and fun. With Zhang Jiahui and Zhou Runfa having already made appearances, the stage was already set.

Jackie Chan’s status spoke for itself.

An international superstar’s influence wasn’t just limited to the entertainment industry; it permeated every aspect of society. He was even invited to attend meetings in the Imperial Capital.

His public image had always been very positive.

His status in the industry was off the charts.

When she saw that Jackie Chan was the one hosting the dinner, Jin Zhenxian pursed her lips in utter astonishment. She was gaining a much deeper appreciation for the influence of her client.

Jackie Chan... Who could be more famous than him?

He was practically the undisputed king of the entertainment world.

’This President Lin... is definitely a big shot!’

Lin Chu took the gift box from Duan Kun—the usual three-piece set: a gold statue, a golf club, and a membership card—and handed it to Jackie Chan with a smile.

This...

Jackie Chan’s expression froze for a moment before he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He also took out a gift box from his agent.

Their eyes met, and they both burst out laughing.

This was a wonderful coincidence.

After a round of pleasantries, they sat down to eat and chatted casually.

To be honest, Lin Chu sensed a genuine sincerity from Jackie Chan, who truly had the air of a respected ”big brother” in the industry. Of course, a lot of it was about maintaining appearances, too.

On the surface, his conduct was impeccable.

For Lin Chu, it was about leveraging his wealth. But for Jackie Chan, it seemed to be instinctual—he just loved making friends from all corners of the globe. He had immense personal charisma.

”President Lin, what made you decide to get into live streaming?”

As the atmosphere warmed up, a beaming Jackie Chan asked with a smile.

”To make a name for myself, you know? To get recognized. Fame is influence. I’m not a celebrity, I can’t act, so this is the only way for me. Right now, you could say I’m just an entertainment personality. Once I’ve built up enough of a following, I plan to pivot to business. What do you think, Brother Long?”

Lin Chu said with a laugh, his posture relaxed.

Jackie Chan nodded with a smile, the tip of his nose seeming to shine. ”A great idea! I would’ve had a hard time coming up with that. And you’re only 24... Young people should be ambitious. I have high hopes for you. Your generation is living in the best of times.”

They raised their glasses and each took a drink.

To be fair, Jackie Chan surpassed him in every way—be it wealth, fame, connections, or even age.

His attitude was that of a senior addressing a promising junior in the industry, which made Lin Chu feel quite comfortable.

As Lin Chu chatted and laughed with him, he also felt a sense of wonderful serendipity.

He’d attempted to ”network up” a few times before. All had failed, which had been a bit frustrating. This time, however, was by far the most comfortable.

The key was that they were just on the same wavelength.

Big brother meets big brother.

’We’ll have to stay in touch from now on.’

Honestly, Lin Chu truly admired him. He was a veteran, after all. In terms of age, he was old enough to be his uncle, and his way of carrying himself was so pleasant it felt like a spring breeze.

To put it more pragmatically: while he himself didn’t have friends all over the world, having a ”good big brother” like this was basically the same thing.

Tsk.

”I came to Xiangjiang today for another reason: I wanted to buy a house for vacations. I found an agent, and at first, he told me there were eight major luxury residential areas in Xiangjiang for me to choose from... Wow, my eyes glazed over. I couldn’t be bothered to look, so I just asked him, ’Which area does Brother Long live in?’ He said Shallow Bay, so I bought a place in Shallow Bay.”

Lin Chu said with a laugh, in the tone of someone telling a joke.

Hearing this, Jackie Chan was also slightly taken aback. He leaned in a little closer. ”You’ve already bought it?”

Being an established resident versus just passing through were two completely different things.

Someone without roots is a powerful outsider, a guest from afar. You’d naturally treat them well when they arrive, but what happens after that is all up to fate.

But someone with roots is a different story, especially if they’re a neighbor you’re bound to run into all the time.

”Yep. My friend and I each bought one. One is number 92, the other is number 108.”

Jackie Chan’s eyes widened. He joked, ”The Chief Executive should give me an award for promoting Xiangjiang’s real estate industry! I live in number 54. We’ll be neighbors from now on! Are you busy lately? We should have a party!”

He extended the invitation himself.

His old buddies were all too old to party hard anymore. It was rare to find a young person who could chat and laugh with him so easily. It felt like fate to meet one, and what’s more, they were going to be neighbors.

’When making friends, you naturally have to go all out from the very beginning, showing them the warmth of spring.’

This had clearly become an instinct and a source of joy for him.

”Okay! Busy or not doesn’t matter. If you’re throwing a party, I’ll definitely be there.”

Lin Chu agreed immediately.

He couldn’t have asked for more.

”Great! Then... in three days!”

Jackie Chan was a man of etiquette. A party naturally required inviting guests, and giving three days’ notice was a small gesture of respect.

...

After dinner, they hadn’t had much to drink. The effects of the alcohol from lunch had long since worn off. Lin Chu didn’t even feel the slightest bit tipsy. He led Jackie Chan straight upstairs to prepare for the night’s live stream.

All the preparations for the stream had already been taken care of by his two assistants.

At eight in the evening, the stream went live.

As was customary, he kicked things off with a lottery giveaway.

As the viewers flooded in, they were stunned to see that today’s guest was none other than Jackie Chan.

With the previous guests setting a precedent, his appearance wasn’t entirely out of the blue.

But it was still a pleasant surprise.

After all, he was a true childhood icon, someone they had grown up watching. His status was on an even higher level.

”I’m in Xiangjiang today taking care of some personal business, and I invited Brother Long ahead of time to come on stream and chat.”
