Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 326: Chapter 234: The Three Traits of a Male Leader

The next day.

Lin Chu had an MBA class in the morning, so he arrived bright and early.

Today was Bian Gaige’s Corporate Strategy class again, which Lin Chu was quite looking forward to.

As soon as he entered the classroom, classmates who had arrived early began greeting him from all sides.

”President Lin, I watched your stream last night! That was a power move, a real power move. You gained almost a million followers in one night.”

”Class Rep, that was amazing! You held a lottery, but my luck was terrible. I didn’t win a thing.”

”Brother Chu, remember to let me get some screen time on your next stream. Tell me, were you doing it on purpose? You’re messing with my head!”

Lu Ming looked at Lin Chu with a resentful gaze, speaking in a speechless tone.

Of course, he was just kidding.

It was just that...

His own startup was a small-time affair. He was also planning on doing livestreams to sell MBA courses, but he hadn’t even set up the framework or prepared the curriculum yet. Meanwhile, Lin Chu had already become an overnight sensation.

Objectively, the difference in their resources was still enormous. After all, Lin Chu owned LC Media.

But while he was still fighting a guerilla war with ”millet and rifles,” Lin Chu was already carpet-bombing the field with planes, cannons, and rockets.

The feeling made Lu Ming envious, jealous, and a little bit bitter.

There was even... a hint of a ”whine” in his tone right now.

’Brother, I want in on it too!’

Lin Chu glanced at him and blew a mock kiss. ”No problem. I’ll definitely bring you on when I hit ten million followers. But I’m not selling products yet, so there’s no rush.”

He then greeted each of his classmates in turn.

They definitely knew about the ”Peng City’s Most Devoted” incident, but they hadn’t discussed it much in the group chat. A few people had just messaged him privately to express their concern.

Of course, none of that was particularly useful. It was just normal social courtesy.

After last night’s stream, the storm had somewhat subsided.

But it also marked the beginning of his ”self-promotion” campaign.

The first livestream was over, and it had gained a small foothold.

Lin Chu was now mentally prepared for fame. He had a general direction strategically, but tactically, he was still somewhat underprepared.

But that was the good thing about live streaming. You could summarize and get feedback every day, then iterate and update for the next one.

’Just start doing it, and improve as I go.’ he thought.

...

Chen Yuanxing came in late today. As he entered, he was dismayed to find that the seats on both sides of Lin Chu were already taken.

On his left was Lu Ming.

He knew, of course, that Lu Ming was Lin Chu’s good friend, even before they started the class.

On his right was Li Fangfei.

And he couldn’t exactly fight a woman for a seat.

Sighing faintly and silently cursing the morning traffic, Chen Yuanxing walked over and sat down next to Lu Ming.

Lin Chu was currently chatting with Li Fangfei.

They had already exchanged a few words. Li Ke’er was a member of her family, and he had already told her about the joint publicity stunt.

As an elder and a senior in the entertainment industry, Li Fangfei naturally had a few more questions.

In truth, she wasn’t opposed to this kind of thing.

”Actually, it’s very normal for female stars to collaborate with entrepreneurs. It’s not just about romantic feelings; there are factors of mutual benefit and social circles involved. You could call it a powerful alliance.”

”To be honest with you, my ex-husband was also a businessman,” Li Fangfei delved deeper into the topic, even revealing her own private matters in a low voice.

Lin Chu gave her a surprised glance. That was something he really didn’t know, but then again, he hadn’t paid much attention to the entertainment world before.

Besides, it was very common for artists of that era to have secret marriages.

However, the topic of conversation was now getting a bit sidetracked.

”It’s just for publicity...”

”There’s really nothing else to it,” Lin Chu denied with a smile.

Hearing this, Li Fangfei also smiled. ”Of course it’s for publicity. You two have only just met, after all. What I mean is, we could make the publicity stunt a bit more... in-depth. Ke’er is considered a third-tier starlet right now, and I’m planning to get her on a variety show next. We could really plan this out.”

Lin Chu: ...

’In-depth? How in-depth?’

’People in the entertainment industry really have a high degree of self-objectification.’

But of course, Lin Chu wasn’t going to refuse. He smiled and said, ”Sure, no problem. I’ll cover all the expenses. You can plan the specifics. In this area, I’m sure you’re the professional.”

The two of them quickly continued their ”in-depth” discussion.

They discussed some inside information and little tricks of the publicity trade.

Until...

Bian Gaige appeared at the lectern and coughed lightly twice. The entire classroom fell silent in an instant.

”Class, let’s begin!”

”Last class, we discussed corporate strategy and personal positioning. Today, we’re going to talk about one word: Leader!”

”A successful male leader in society must possess three traits.”

”First, be formidable! If you’re not formidable, you can’t command respect!”

”Second, be approachable! If you’re not approachable and likable, if people don’t like you, you have no charisma.”

”Third, be altruistic! This is from a utilitarian perspective. People will only follow you if there’s a benefit in it for them. They’ll keep following you, and even bring others along with them.”

Bian Gaige got straight to the point right from the start.

As Lin Chu listened, his heart stirred. He once again felt that there was always something to gain from opening a book.

This old professor might be unconventional and quite cunning, but he genuinely had real substance.

A lot of solid information.

Next, he began to elaborate on these three points.

And from them, he derived four dimensions and eight abilities.

The four dimensions were: value orientation, trend analysis, organizational operations, and talent development.

The eight abilities were: the ability to learn, to foresee, to decide, to organize, to lead, to execute, to communicate, and to inspire.

Lin Chu listened with extreme focus, filling in the gaps in his own knowledge.

He was far more attentive than he had ever been in his undergraduate classes.

His level of focus was comparable to when he took the elective ”Classical Literature: An Appreciation of *Jin Ping Mei*” as an undergrad.

Before he knew it, the class period had flown by.

”When is your ’big nephew’ coming back? Tell me the second he does. We need to hurry.”

Lin Chu said this to Chen Yuanxing before leaving the classroom directly.

The second class was Corporate Financial Strategy.

He skipped it.

’Corporate Financial Strategy my ass.’

’The System is my greatest financial strategy.’

...

Leaving the university, Lin Chu headed straight for LC Media. He needed to prepare for tonight’s livestream.

The ”scandalous hype” part of his personal marketing would have to be postponed for a while.

After all, he was ”the most devoted” yesterday; it wouldn’t look good to have a new flame today.

There had to be a ”descent into darkness” process.

’At least a week from now,’ he thought.

Furthermore, given that there were occasional awkward silences during last night’s stream, Lin Chu wanted to find an ”assistant” for his second broadcast today.

A celebrity would be the most suitable, of course.

He already had the lists and contact information.

He had gathered it all when preparing for the golf club’s opening ceremony.

In his office, Zhang Peng and a few livestream planners held a small meeting with Lin Chu.

”President Lin, of the 620,000 followers from last night, we’re down to 590,000. We lost 30,000.”

”According to our data analysis, these followers fall into three main groups. About a third are female users—after all, the atmosphere in your stream is not very female-friendly. Another third are likely ’wool-gatherers,’ and the final third are just casual passersby.”

”Actually, this is pretty good. Although we haven’t reached the stage of ’cleansing’ followers yet, weeding them out as we grow will make the account’s tag and positioning more precise.”

One of the livestream planners first reviewed yesterday’s data with Lin Chu.

Hearing this, Lin Chu didn’t think much of it. He nodded and smiled. ”That’s fine. Don’t worry about them. Let’s just keep pushing forward. The persona is still fragile, and we haven’t built user stickiness yet. We have to let the bullets fly for a bit.”

”I plan on inviting a celebrity today. I have someone specific in mind.”

”Zhazha Hui. I’ve already booked him. He’s on his way.”

The line, ”If you’re my brother, come and cut me down,” is probably more famous than the man himself. Lin Chu even used it often. Besides, his appearance fee wasn’t expensive. The quote for the golf club was two million a day.

These Xiangjiang artists, to be frank, offer really high value for their cost.

They’re famous, professional, and not picky.

On the way over, Lin Chu had already called his agent and confirmed he had an open schedule today. He was already en route.

After all, it’s only about an hour’s drive from Xiangjiang to Peng City.

Huh?

At that moment, hearing Lin Chu’s words, everyone, including Zhang Peng and the other planners, were all stunned. They hadn’t expected Lin Chu to be so efficient.

”Great! I’m a big fan of his. I can’t believe I get to meet my idol today.”

”Brother Chu, what’s the plan for what’s next?”

After offering a bit of praise with a smile, Zhang Peng pressed for details on Lin Chu’s upcoming plans.

”Keep streaming, all the way to ten million followers.”

”I reckon it’ll take about a month.”

”The plan is daily lotteries plus celebrity guests. Zhazha Hui today, then book someone else for tomorrow. Only male stars, and specifically the veteran actors with good images, great charisma, and a focus on brotherhood. Brother Xiaoma, Chen Xiaochun, Jackie Chan, Chen Daoming, Li Dakang, Gao Qiqiang, Wang Baoqiang, and even from overseas, what’s-his-name, Ma Dongxi... get me everyone we can possibly book!”

”I’m not going to do anything. No selling products. I’ll just sit in the stream and chat with them.”

”Also, get the fan groups up and running. Ask everyone who they want to see. Start polls on Hupu... I want to firmly lock my persona into this ecological niche: a tough guy, rich, has lots of brothers, reliable, and loyal.”

”Let the masculine energy and male hormones overload the entire stream!”

Lin Chu declared with considerable bravado.

To become a top-tier streamer with tens of millions of followers, you must have your own unique ”ecological niche” and become the leader in your own lane.

Lin Chu was confident that he was the only one on the entire internet playing the game this way. There was no one else like him.

It would require burning through cash, but so what? He didn’t give a damn.

At this moment, listening to Lin Chu’s words, everyone, including Zhang Peng, was utterly dumbfounded.

This...

When you thought about it, it was pretty explosive.

Truly explosive.

And it was also incredibly exciting.

Compared to this plan, last night’s stream, despite being a power move, seemed conservative in hindsight.
