Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 327: Chapter 235: Zhazha Hui’s Shock

Futian Port.

A Toyota Alphard with Xiangjiang license plates cleared the checkpoint and sped towards Zhuoyue Building.

Zhang Jiahui was in the back seat, being meticulously groomed by his assistant.

Today’s business engagement was rather strange.

He had been invited by the owner of a golf club in Peng City to do a livestream tonight. He didn’t even have to sell any products, just show up and chat. It was basically a personal interview—or to put it more simply, it was like he was just... visiting a friend.

’Is there really money this easy to make?’

He couldn’t help but feel a little curious.

Still, there was definitely nothing wrong with the event itself. The deposit had already been paid.

”Boss, we’re here. Should I call the client first?”

The assistant said with a smile as they arrived at the parking garage under Zhuoyue Building.

”No need. Let’s just go straight up. Are we really going to make them come down to greet us? They’re the client, after all. Come on, let’s go check it out.”

Zhang Jiahui said with a smile, opening the car door. He and his assistant then went upstairs.

...

LC Media.

Following the address he was given, Zhang Jiahui stood outside the company’s entrance. Through the glass doors, he could already see employees inside, all busy with their work. He couldn’t help but shake his head and smile.

’These media companies... they really make a killing.’

’No wonder they’re so generous.’

These days, never mind Xiangjiang stars, even many A-listers from the mainland don’t earn as much as the influencers who sell products online. Many have even started doing it themselves.

As an ”entertainer,” Zhang Jiahui had participated in these kinds of sales livestreams before.

But not often, and mainly to promote his films.

His popularity had taken a pretty serious hit in recent years. His fanbase had been heavily diluted, and he was getting older. His commercial value certainly couldn’t compare to those young heartthrobs.

Zhang Jiahui was well aware of this.

But he had no thoughts of making a big comeback.

’Can a person really stay famous for a lifetime?’

’He wasn’t Liu Dehua, after all!’

’When it comes to making money, as long as you earn what you deserve, that’s good enough.’

The young receptionist at LC Media was the first to notice someone standing outside. She walked out with light steps to check, only to realize it was a celebrity.

”Whoa!”

She couldn’t help but let out a shriek.

”Zha... Zhang... Teacher Zhang! Hello, hello!”

The commotion outside was quickly noticed inside.

Lin Chu and Zhang Peng quickly walked out to greet him with bright smiles.

Tsk.

This feeling was a bit like ’childhood becoming reality.’

After all, many of the characters he played were childhood classics.

”Teacher Zhang, hello. I’m Lin Chu. We added each other on WeChat.”

Seeing Lin Chu in person, Zhang Jiahui was somewhat surprised. He was so young. But he quickly composed himself and said with a smile, ”President Lin, hello. Sorry to keep you waiting. Shall we get to work? What do you need me to do? Should I look at a script? Or should we go over the questions beforehand?”

He immediately switched into work mode, appearing very professional.

Lin Chu smiled and welcomed him into the company.

”Your company is quite large, President Lin. So accomplished at such a young age.”

It was a classic case of mutual flattery. Zhang Jiahui glanced at the bustling scene in the company and offered a compliment, though he knew this wasn’t the whole picture. The golf club was Lin Chu’s main business.

”Not at all, you’re too kind. Come, let’s go to my office for some tea first.”

”I thought you’d be arriving later. I had a custom gift made for you, but it hasn’t arrived yet.”

Lin Chu said with a smile as he led them to his office.

Zhang Jiahui was taken aback again.

’I’m here for a business gig, and I get a gift?’

However, he just assumed it was some kind of souvenir. After a few polite words of thanks, he didn’t think much more of it.

They drank tea in the office.

Lin Chu simply made small talk with him, getting a feel for their conversational styles.

Zhang Jiahui asked several times what the plan was for the evening’s livestream, but Lin Chu only replied that it was just a casual chat to gain some followers.

The situation left him completely baffled.

’Just chatting?’

’Gaining followers?’

’No product sales?’

’Well, that’s easy enough.’

His mood relaxed considerably.

「Not long after.」

The custom gift box Lin Chu had ordered was delivered. The items had been made that morning, but it was plenty of time. After all, he’d had something similar made before, and the process was extremely simple.

It was a square box made of solid wood, looking quite exquisite and wrapped in red silk.

”Teacher Zhang, I’m not sure if you’ll like it, but please open it and take a look. This is a personal gift from me, sort of as compensation for watching so many of your movies when I was a kid. After all, I watched pirated copies.”

Lin Chu said with a smile.

That was indeed the truth.

It was just like the saying, ”We all owe Master Ye a movie ticket.” Many people had gotten their fill of Xiangjiang stars’ movies for free.

Hearing this, Zhang Jiahui rubbed his nose and chuckled. He couldn’t really complain, since it was true. He reached out, pulled away the red silk, and opened the gift box.

The box looked quite large; he had no idea what was inside.

However...

The moment he opened it...

He was instantly stunned.

Gold.

It was all dazzlingly gold.

The box was divided into three sections.

On the left was a sizable Golden Statue—a cartoon version of himself mounted on an exquisite base. It looked luxurious and grand.

Beside it lay a long, slender Golden Golf Club.

On the right, in a smaller compartment, was a Golf Card for the golf club.

”As you know, I run a golf club. It’s just a small gift. You’re welcome to come play at my place whenever you’re free.”

Zhang Jiahui took a deep breath and licked his lips. For a moment, he wanted to refuse, but seeing Lin Chu’s sincere expression, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

He put his hands together and said very politely, ”Thank you. Thank you so much, President Lin. You’re too generous. I’m truly touched.”

This gift was by no means cheap.

The club card alone was worth over a million.

Not to mention the Golden Golf Club and the cartoon Golden Statue, which had both material and sentimental value.

It was a gift that was impossible to refuse.

On the virtual panel in front of Lin Chu, the rebate details quietly appeared.

The cartoon Golden Statue was heavier than the club, using 5kg of gold and valued at 2.62 million.

The Golden Golf Club was worth 510,000.

The Golf Card was worth 2.8 million.

Double rebate: 11.86 million.

Looking at this information, the smile on Lin Chu’s face was even brighter than Zhang Jiahui’s.

He could sum it up in one word... Awesome!

With the rebate credited, not only did he cover his own costs, but he also instantly recouped the entire business fee he was going to pay Zhang Jiahui, with even a little extra left over. A small profit.

Besides, now that he’d given him the golf card, was there any way he wouldn’t go?

Having another ”celebrity member” would be quite beneficial for the club’s influence.

Plus, it was a bonus in terms of connections and networking...

This move was like killing several birds with one stone.

And...

What was even better was that this model was completely scalable.

He could pull the same stunt with all the other celebrities he planned to invite.

Childhood memories + compensation for pirating + business engagement + personal friendship...

Lin Chu believed they would have no reason to refuse.

...

「8:00 PM.」

The livestream officially began.

The procedure was the same as yesterday.

Only this time, when the swarm of viewers poured into the stream, they were shocked to see the handsome face of Zhazha Hui.

Even in his fifties, he was still very well-maintained.

Not stunningly gorgeous, but very easy on the eyes.

”Holy crap! President Lin is splurging again! He even invited a celebrity!”

”Zhazha Hui!”

”It’s over, bros, run! He’s gonna come chop us up!”

”Emmm, Uncle Zhang is still handsome.”

”I fucking bet he’s gonna sell stuff today! Go on, what is it! I’m not buying anything anyway! My main goal is to watch for free!”

”Hahahaha, the admin’s gonna ban you.”

As waves of comments flew by, Lin Chu glanced at them in high spirits. A curious idea popped into his head.

—’Guess what I’m going to sell?’

’This could become a popular meme on the stream.’

’It would be like forcing a trending topic into existence.’

’This definitely counted as stirring things up.’

He quickly jotted it down and handed it to his assistant.

The assistant took one look and a smile immediately appeared on his face.

’President Lin really gets it.’

He quickly went to arrange for staff to start amplifying and spreading that comment.

Of course, there were established routines and procedures for all of this.

”Let me declare again, we’re not selling anything today. Absolutely not. And, starting today, I’m going to invite a male celebrity to the stream every day. We won’t be doing much, just chatting, shooting the breeze, talking nonsense. If that doesn’t work, we can have a few drinks, maybe play some dice.”

”A heartbroken man needs his bros and some booze.”

”Right, Teacher Zhang?”

Lin Chu felt much more relaxed today than yesterday, and he spoke casually with a smile.

As a decorated actor, Zhang Jiahui picked up on Lin Chu’s mood. He treated being on a livestream like a performance, so catching the emotional cue was no problem at all.

He smiled and nodded. ”Sure, no problem.”

Inwardly, however, he was a little shocked.

’Invite a male celebrity every day?’

’And do nothing?’

He was once again struck by the awesome power of money.

’This young man really knows how to have fun, and he’s not afraid to spend the money to do it.’

’Of course, this must be President Lin’s investment in his initial marketing campaign.’

Or so he guessed.

After that, the two of them quickly started chatting away on the stream, one line after another.

With the added star power, the atmosphere in the stream was even more electric, and viewer retention was better.

Lin Chu opened up co-streaming, and numerous people applied, all wanting a front-row seat to experience Zhazha Hui up close.

At the same time...

Today’s prize giveaway was still going on.

Only this time, the car was a Tank 300.

The budget was still ten million.

All the fans and viewers were once again completely stunned by the sheer power of money.

”Holy crap! I give up! I can’t take it anymore! What is he trying to do? Is this performance art?!”

”His whole brand is about being inhuman, isn’t it?”

”President Lin, Brother Chu, Big Bro, Foster Father! If my lord will not forsake me...”

”This is the first fucking time I’ve ever seen such a ridiculously lavish streamer who doesn’t even sell products.”

”He’s definitely got big plans...”

”He’s not after us bros, is he?”

”He is! Come and get me, I’ve already washed up and am waiting in bed!”

”President Lin has successfully pioneered a new genre: the Money-Throwing Streamer. He’s really throwing money! Not a hater, definitely not trying to be insulting! I’m an old fan from yesterday, a die-hard fan!”

Lin Chu: ?

’What the hell is a Money-Throwing Streamer!’

’But, that phrase seems to have the potential to become a meme.’

After a moment’s thought, he decided, ’Screw it!’

’Even if it sounds a little nasty, it’s no big deal. Getting famous first is what matters.’
