Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 334: Chapter 238: Tough, Steady, and Wild

BEEP.

The suite door opened. Stepping inside, Lin Chu saw Zhang Peng holding a meeting in the ”living room.” It was a video conference to review tonight’s live stream.

’Yikes...’

’What a devil of a boss.’

’It’s almost one in the morning!’

When he saw Lin Chu enter with Liao Meili, Zhang Peng glanced over, muted himself on the conference software, and waved with a smile. ”Hello there! I’m in a meeting. Why don’t I head back to my room?”

He picked up his laptop and started toward his room.

”Yeah, go on. I’ll bring you a bowl of soup later. You really have to push yourself this hard?”

Lin Chu said with a casual smile.

’After all this time together, I’ve learned that Brother Peng is truly hardcore.’

’Completely dedicated.’

’Though working himself to death is a bit much.’

”Of course it is. Isn’t this our make-or-break moment? Oh, right, let me take a few minutes. There’s something I need to tell you.”

Seeing that Lin Chu wasn’t in a mad rush to get down to business, Zhang Peng walked back over, holding his laptop in one hand.

”So, your first die-hard fan has appeared. A female fan. She applied to be a super mod for the stream. I just chatted with her, and she’s a pretty interesting character.”

”She dropped at least 300,000 in the stream tonight.”

Zhang Peng felt there was no need to be secretive about this in front of Liao Meili.

After all, he knew exactly what kind of person Lin Chu was.

They had already marketed that whole ”Peng City’s Most Devoted” incident. Clearly, any other women in his life had been dealt with long ago.

Lin Chu: ?

Liao Meili’s eyes widened. She listened to the two men talk, feeling a mix of curiosity and slight nervousness.

’A female fan!’

’Now that Lin Chu was a streamer, this sort of thing was bound to happen.’

But for Zhang Peng to bring it up right in front of her... for a moment, she couldn’t tell if he was being completely shameless or just transparently honest.

”Well, what do you know. Female fans already,” Lin Chu said with a laugh. ”I don’t fuck my fans, though. So spit it out, what’s her deal?”

’This feels a little weird,’ he thought.

To be fair, though, Lin Chu was always polite to his viewers. He firmly believed in the principle that the same water that keeps a boat afloat can also capsize it.

’As for female fans, it’s best to keep a respectful distance.’

’You’ve never even met them. One day they’re your biggest fan, the next they’re your sworn enemy trying to tear you down.’

”Uh, how should I put this... The girl has a pretty high status. She’s an international student from India. Probably from a wealthy, prominent family over there. A Brahman, at the very least.”

Zhang Peng said with a teasing smile.

”Huh? An Indian chick!”

”What the hell is this!”

”Quick, refund all her donation money. Then tell her I’m not into women. That I’m scared of them. The smell of curry alone would be enough to knock a guy out.”

Lin Chu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Indians were just too ridiculous and bizarre; their awful reputation was common knowledge. On top of that, there were quite a few of them in Peng City. Anyone who’d ever dealt with them knew the score: when they bought something, you absolutely could not ship it until you received payment in full.

The stereotype was already deeply ingrained.

It had nothing to do with her being a woman.

”No way, why refund it? She’s not a minor. We just won’t give her the mod permissions, that’s all. Fine, since you want nothing to do with it, I’ll handle it myself.”

Zhang Peng said with a casual laugh.

’This isn’t a big deal anyway.’

’How could we possibly refund money we’ve already received?’

’Are you crazy?’

’Don’t even think about it!’

Lin Chu glanced at him and waved a hand dismissively. ”Fine, fine. You handle it.”

Lin Chu ladled out a bowl of soup for him, and Zhang Peng took it back to his room.

Once the door closed behind him,

Liao Meili shot Lin Chu a reproachful look, but then couldn’t help but let out a laugh.

”How can you be so prejudiced?”

’Having received an American-style education, she was instinctively wary of such attitudes. Of course, deep down, she was prejudiced too, but it was the kind of opinion you could never express out loud, not even in private.’

”I discriminate equally against everyone who’s not one of my own people.”

”Ever heard of the Celestial Empire?”

Lin Chu joked casually as he sipped his soup.

Liao Meili: ...

”Oh, shit. You’re a Chinese-American, aren’t you?”

The words had barely left his mouth when he sensed a shift in the atmosphere. He couldn’t help but look at her and ask with a grin.

”Mhm.”

Liao Meili pouted and nodded with a look of resignation.

’Sigh...’

’Sometimes, she felt Lin Chu was just so crude, not ’civilized’ enough.’

’Her mother had even brought up the issue of his background before. The man came from such a poor family; they were from completely different social classes. Their habits and lifestyles were bound to be worlds apart, and that would inevitably cause friction down the road.’

’No matter how much money he had now, he couldn’t change who he was at his core.’

”Alright, you’re the exception then.”

Lin Chu said with a laugh, though he didn’t really take it to heart.

Liao Meili let out a soft sigh, still looking a little down.

Listening to Lin Chu slurp his soup, she pressed her lips together. A thought suddenly came to her. ”I just had an idea.”

”What is it?”

”Have you noticed that you slouch a little when you walk? I know a fantastic posture and etiquette coach. How about I ask her to come help you work on it?”

”I mean, you’re a streamer now, and you’re clearly on your way to becoming a public figure. Posture is pretty important for that. It’ll make you look more upright and handsome, too.”

”Of course, you’re already great. This would just be a simple little tweak.”

She chose her words carefully, doing her best to be mindful of his pride.

’This man was, after all, quite the chauvinist, a total alpha male.’

Hearing this, Lin Chu instinctively bristled at being told what to do. He looked at her, a smirk playing on his lips.

”Learn etiquette? You tell me, what ’etiquette’ are we talking about?”

”Whose etiquette?”

”How about I hire you an etiquette coach from Japan, huh? To teach you what a girlfriend’s ’kneeling service’ is all about?”
