Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 321: Chapter 232: He’s Really Hooking the Bros Up

As for An Yunzhi... after finding out about her family background last night, Lin Chu had basically given up on anything happening between them. It was impossible, at least for now.

Otherwise, he’d be sacrificing the rest of his life for his lower body.

Now, seeing her message, a smile touched Lin Chu’s lips, though he couldn’t help but silently curse.

’Damn it!’

’When I was hitting on you, you wouldn’t give me the time of day. Now that I’ve stopped, you’re coming to me? Is that it?’

’What a tease.’

However, since she had messaged him, Lin Chu wasn’t about to pretend he hadn’t seen it.

There was a concept known as the ”male bestie.”

——As long as we don’t sleep together, anything goes.

’Heh heh.’

Lin Chu had already mentally assigned her a label.

’We’ll be good friends, her male bestie. If I ever get into trouble, and you’re able to help, you’d have to give me a hand, wouldn’t you?’

”Sigh... what can you do? But after what she’s done, I really can’t like her anymore. I guess I’ll either have to wall up my heart or just go full villain.”

Lin Chu casually typed back, his tone deliberately pitiful.

An Yunzhi: ”But I thought Xiaoluan did seem to like you. Could it have been for some other reason? Like... did you do something that made her feel insecure?”

As Zhou Luan’s best friend, An Yunzhi was fulfilling her duty.

Nowadays on the internet, whenever there’s a relationship problem, most netizens’ answer is to break up or get divorced.

But she wasn’t that kind of person.

For things to have reached this point, it was all rather unseemly.

Besides, she couldn’t make an accurate judgment without understanding the full picture.

At the same time, she had a faint feeling that something about the situation was a bit fishy.

Lin Chu: ”The classic delusion—’She likes me.’ Anyway, thanks for the kind words, but I don’t really need them. Since it’s already happened, there’s no use dwelling on it. I might as well ride this wave of publicity to promote my career. I’m streaming tonight. The address is on my social media feed. Feel free to drop by and show some support.”

Lin Chu did his best to avoid discussing relationship issues with her, wanting to prevent any romantic entanglements. Yet he also had to establish his persona as someone devoted to his career, using it as a way to maintain their friendship.

Since he put it that way, An Yunzhi didn’t ask any more questions.

She replied, ”I don’t watch livestreams, sorry. I have to study tonight. And I don’t really have any influence, so I’m sure you’re not lacking my one view. Keep up the good work.”

Er.

’Fair enough.’

’That’s very An Yunzhi of her.’

”Alright, you keep up the good work, too. I was drinking with Kang Hao last night and learned he still carries a torch for you. I’m a bit curious about the story between you two, but questioning him was fruitless. If you ever have the time, please satisfy my curiosity.”

Lin Chu added teasingly.

He had a strong feeling that An Yunzhi wouldn’t touch that topic.

”That’s another classic delusion—’He likes her.’ There’s no gossip. I’m going to read. Bye.”

Sure enough, she gave a polite reply and immediately ended the conversation.

Lin Chu shook his head and smiled.

’Yep.’

’This style of conversation is perfect.’

’Let’s keep it this way.’

...

In the conference room, the streamers were still introducing themselves one by one.

Dai Pingchuan was the ”top streamer.” Having joined early, he had received the most donations and traffic.

There were two others in the company on the same tier as him.

The second-ranked streamer was Dong Wen, a handsome and well-presented 23-year-old. He specialized in traditional Chinese painting but also did oil painting. He built his audience by demonstrating his fundamental art skills on stream, drawing banknotes from various countries. While this was just him following a trend, his attention to detail was excellent. That, combined with traffic from paid promotions, had pushed his follower count past one million.

The third-ranked streamer was also a handsome man, Song Dongzhe, but of the middle-aged, scholarly type, exuding an artistic and melancholic air. At 41, he had previously run a training center for children on the guzheng and guqin. After the business failed, he took up performing to make a living, and somehow Zhang Peng had scouted him for the company. He played both instruments exceptionally well, and with the boost from promotional traffic, he quickly amassed a large, loyal fanbase.

The rest were a diverse bunch.

There were jade carvers, wood carvers, stone carvers, paper-cutters, incense makers, opera singers, and traditional magicians...

There was even a traditional storyteller.

’Tsk.’

’This live-streaming company really is quite unconventional.’

’What was even more unconventional was that most of them were men.’

’There were hardly any women, and certainly no attractive ones.’

’I guess you could say they were carving out a unique lane in the MCN industry.’

’It’s just that without his own investment, its long-term profitability would surely be a concern.’

’However, since he got rebates, spending money on them was always profitable for him.’

”President Lin, if I may interject. This is Teacher Meng Xiaohua, our incense maker. While he doesn’t have many followers—only around two hundred thousand—the incense he makes has already achieved stable sales on his stream. Last month’s revenue exceeded two hundred thousand. He’s the first streamer we’ve had selling a product, but for now, we can’t scale up production.”

Zhang Peng added this after Meng Xiaohua finished his self-introduction.

He had mentioned this to Lin Chu in the monthly report.

But this was the perfect time to reinforce the point.

After all, Lin Chu himself was quite interested in the art of incense and had bought some when he first set up his office.

Hearing this, Lin Chu’s interest was piqued.

”Develop another product. Use the highest-end materials, and keep the cost per unit above 5,000. Make a batch of 1,000 for now. I’ll put them in the showroom at the golf club and see how they sell.”

”Oh, and a couple more things. For anyone who makes physical products—calligraphy, paintings, jade, stone, or wood carvings, whatever—you can apply to the company for material costs. Create the finished products, put your name on them, and I’ll place them at the club to see if any clients take an interest.”
