Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 302: Chapter 223: Asset Inventory

This was the very issue Lin Chu was now considering.

He began to gradually add words between the two columns.

Entertainment—golf club, for fun, for my own enjoyment.

Media—influence.

High-tech, Internet—social status.

Retail—a large employee base, provides many jobs.

Orphanages, nursing homes, charitable foundations—a way to use money, build a reputation, and contribute to public welfare.

Overseas—to be determined.

After writing it all down, Lin Chu clapped his hands, feeling utterly satisfied.

A complete framework had instantly taken shape in his mind.

His plans for future development also became exceptionally clear.

If life was a journey, this was now his main course.

Six avenues of business. Not too many, not too few. Just right.

Turns out, secluding himself to think things through really was an effective method.

This idea had actually been faintly bubbling up in his mind for a long time, even as far back as when he first went home to give his dad that Audi A6.

But it was true what they say: you can’t make bricks without straw. When his resources were limited, it simply wasn’t the right time to think about such things.

Now, on the contrary, his operations had become so sprawling that they needed to be streamlined and focused. The time was finally right to consider these matters.

And after thinking it all through, Lin Chu felt the previously chaotic mess of thoughts in his mind become perfectly clear and organized.

Pulling out his phone, Lin Chu sent Zhang Peng a message.

”Peng, you asleep? I need you to do something for me tomorrow. Transfer ownership of the gym. We don’t need it anymore.”

The gym was only about a million-yuan operation. It was frankly uninteresting, unrelated to his core business, and its function could be replaced by the golf club, so it was best to just get rid of it.

As for the existing members, if the new owner was willing to continue their service, he could offer a discount on the transfer fee.

If not, he would just give them all full refunds. It wasn’t a huge amount of money, and it was the right thing to do.

’Ha, add one to the tally of runaway gym owners in Peng City.’

It was already past one in the morning, so Lin Chu had assumed Zhang Peng was asleep. However, he received a reply almost as soon as he sent the message: ”Got it, I’ll take care of it tomorrow. You’re still up?”

”Nope.”

Zhang Peng: ”Holy shit, you’re starting to sell off assets? Don’t tell me you’re planning to sell this place next, are you?”

”Sell my ass. Stop talking nonsense and just focus on developing your side of things.”

Lin Chu replied, then thought for a moment before sending another message: ”Not only are we not selling the media division, we’re going to expand it aggressively. Give me some time to flesh out the idea, but I want to cultivate our own loyal ’court scribe’ who can champion our cause, or develop a network of cooperative media channels and put them on our payroll.”

Zhang Peng: ”? Holy shit, what are you planning?”

He was practically shivering.

”Let me think it over some more and weigh the options. We’ll have a quick meeting about it later.”

”Alright, I’ll be waiting. Anything else? If not, hurry up and get some sleep. Stop overthinking it.”

”OK, good night.”

With that, the chat ended.

Lin Chu took a shower, then lay down in bed and fell into a peaceful sleep.

He felt as if he had made just a little more progress.

On the whiteboard, Lin Chu added one final line: ”Be an absolutely badass, extremely sexy, successful man.”

He had class the next morning.

When Lin Chu woke up early, he went to his study and picked out a copy of Mastering Habits. ’Habits determine the subconscious, the subconscious determines one’s thought patterns, and thought patterns determine the kind of person one is.’ He had read the book himself and thought it was perfect for a beginner, so he would have it taken to him.

He put the book in Wang Hao’s car, then hired a designated driver to take the car to him at the golf club.

As for himself, he got into his Lamborghini and headed straight for school.

Ever since he became the owner of the golf club, Lin Chu had hardly ever driven his sports cars, always taking the Rolls-Royce instead.

It was comfortable, sure, but it also made him feel like he was ”acting his station,” and he’d lost that sense of inner lightness.

But now, after getting his business plans in order, Lin Chu felt that his carefree, easygoing self had returned.

Driving toward the sunrise with the wind in his hair, even the traffic jam felt pleasant.

However, when he reached the school gate, the scene before him made Lin Chu pause.

The security presence at the guardhouse was much heavier than yesterday. There were several Koaster buses parked nearby, as well as SWAT vehicles.

A dozen or so plainclothes officers were checking everyone at the school entrance.

’Hm?’

’What’s going on?’

”Hello, student. Please show me your student ID and national ID card.”

A sharp-looking young man approached him. His back was ramrod straight, but his demeanor was quite polite.

Lin Chu took out his student ID, then pulled out his national ID, asking casually, ”What’s all this about?”

”Oh, it’s nothing. Just a routine check. We have some VIPs coming to inspect the university today. Sorry for the inconvenience. They should be gone by this afternoon.”

Hearing this, Lin Chu nodded and said nothing more.

After his ID was checked and he entered the campus, a thought suddenly struck Lin Chu. ’Could this be related to the low-altitude aircraft lab?’

’Holy crap.’

’If that’s the case, then this whole affair just got more complicated.’

’But that’s unavoidable.’

’After all, in a competition like this, everyone pulls out all the stops.’

’The competitors for the lab were all major players; there was no guarantee they wouldn’t pull some other stunts.’

’Looking at it this way, getting a lock on Su Chaoyue last night was a real clutch move. It secured a lot of things in advance and gave me the initiative.’

’Then again, I’ve always been a big gambler.’

’Any of the competitors could have offered the same terms I did. They just weren’t willing to commit until they saw a sure thing, or their decision-making process was too slow. They didn’t put up the big bucks ahead of time.’

’Tsk. A brilliant move on my part.’

Lin Chu mentally patted himself on the back.
