Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 328: Chapter 236: Brother Qiang, I’m Treating You to Fish Today

Midnight.

Lin Chu’s stream ended right on time. He closed the livestream window, let out a long sigh of relief, grabbed the water glass beside him, and chugged it down.

Zhang Jiahui, who was next to him, also had a smile on his face.

’That was... a truly exhilarating four hours.’

Being in front of the camera for a stream was like acting, but if all acting jobs were this easy to film, life would be a breeze.

He even felt like he was participating in a massive reality show.

In just four short hours, this young Boss Lin had given away physical prizes worth over ten million.

These included cars, phones, and other digital products.

’It was just... so surreal.’

That was ten million!

He didn’t get it.

But he was utterly blown away.

Lin Chu glanced at the backend follower count. It had already reached 1.43 million, a bigger jump than yesterday. A smile once again touched his lips.

’At this rate, the goal of ten million followers really isn’t that far off.’

’A month at most.’

What did it mean to have ten million followers on Douyin?

It would absolutely make him a top-tier, A-list streamer.

With a solid base of popularity, he could add in some other stunts, do some marketing, stir up some scandals, appear on variety shows, and then logically build a commercial persona.

The path was very clear.

And very feasible.

After exchanging pleasantries with a group from the company and arranging accommodations for Zhang Jiahui, Lin Chu returned to his room, collapsed onto the bed, and fell into a deep sleep.

’Livestreaming is damn exhausting!’

But when he thought about his grand plan for fame, Lin Chu was naturally filled with motivation.

...

”Lin Chu, I have something to tell you. I’m officially resigning today. I can’t stay at the club any longer; I need to go back to school to work on my graduation thesis. After I graduate and have some free time, let’s get together again.”

”Thank you for taking care of me during this time. Take good care of my club. My vow still stands: in five years, I will definitely buy the club back. The river flows east for thirty years, and west for thirty years—don’t you dare underestimate a broke young woman!”

”Lastly, thank you.”

”Even though I was only at the club for less than a month, I really gained so much from the experience.”

Early the next morning, Lin Chu received a long message from Zhou Luan. It was both a farewell and a thank you.

Reading the message, Lin Chu couldn’t help but smile.

”Alright. Study hard.”

”Hey, one last question—do you really not like me?”

’It’s the end, so a little teasing won’t hurt, right?’

After he sent the message, a long time passed with no reply from Zhou Luan.

It wasn’t until Lin Chu had finished his shower and come out of the bathroom that he saw her reply: ”Don’t ask. If you have to ask, the answer is I *did* love you. Hahaha.”

Lin Chu pursed his lips in a smile, thought for a moment, and casually replied, ”You’re a good person.”

Zhou Luan: ”???”

”You bastard!”

”*You’re* the good person!”

”Your whole family are good people!”

Her short temper was flaring up again.

However, Lin Chu didn’t reply again.

He really didn’t have the energy to keep teasing her. He had a pile of things to deal with.

The battle for fame had already begun, and he’d had a great start. Naturally, he had to press his advantage.

...

That morning, Gu Jiayan was contacting the celebrities on their list to book their schedules.

By a little after ten, they had confirmed the guest for the day.

Zhang Songwen.

As a late-blooming actor, he had exploded in popularity across the internet for his role as ”Gao Qiqiang,” firmly establishing himself as an A-lister.

Moreover, he was from Guangdong Province and currently lived in Peng City.

He happened to be between projects recently, so upon receiving the invitation, he rushed over immediately.

Zhang Songwen’s rate for this kind of commercial engagement was three and a half million.

This price was quite fitting for an A-lister’s status.

Lin Chu, of course, once again arranged for the full set: the Little Golden Man, the Golden Golf Club, and the Golf Card.

Giveaways!

The main event was all about giving things away!

’Either way, there’s no way I can lose money on this!’

...

”Brother Chu, let’s shoot a short video this afternoon. It’ll at least help drive some traffic to the stream. Yesterday was too rushed; we have to optimize things today.”

”I’ve already had someone clip some of the fun moments and behind-the-scenes bits from last night’s stream replay. We’ll be releasing them shortly.”

In the office, Zhang Peng proposed a new, iterative plan.

He knew he couldn’t stop Lin Chu’s massive spending spree, but he could at least try to refine the operations and maximize the traffic they attracted.

By releasing a short video first, they would have a decent amount of initial traffic when the stream went live in the evening.

Moreover, short videos could be archived and had a long-tail effect, continuously attracting new followers over time.

As for the livestreams, while replays were available, they were over four hours long, so very few people watched them.

”Sure, no problem. I can always count on you, my right-hand man.”

Lin Chu praised him with a casual laugh.

”Heh, it’s just standard procedure. Don’t praise me. Oh, right, one more thing. HR said today that our company’s application inbox kind of exploded. Normally we only get about ten or so resumes a day, but today it suddenly shot up to over three hundred. We’re getting applications for streamers and other positions, too.”

”And, well, it goes without saying that you’re the one who brought them all in.”

Zhang Peng felt quite emotional about this.

The effect of Lin Chu’s streams was immediate.

If the entire company were a fleet of ships, the other streamers were frigates. But when Lin Chu went live, he was an aircraft carrier.

He had only been streaming for two days, and the results were already explosive.

”Hire them. Hire as many as you can. It’s fine even if we hire them all. Keep recruiting for the intangible cultural heritage section, but it’s also time to develop the other sections. Remember the plan I told you about the other day? Our goal is the sea of stars, to become a media giant!”
