Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 330: Chapter 236: Brother Qiang, I’ll Treat You to Fish Today

The plan was set.

Lin Chu immediately called Zhang Peng and had him arrange for the team to come over.

This feeling of ”shooting a movie” brought a surge of joy to Lin Chu’s heart.

’With money, you really can do whatever you want.’

’At least on this level.’

...

The second plan was simple to film.

After they finished filming in the private room, it was time for Zhang Songwen’s solo performance. The team followed him to get the supplementary shots, and the raw footage was quickly sent back to the company, where the editing department’s staff got to work immediately.

By a little after two in the afternoon, a 42-second short video was fresh out of the oven.

The draft was sent to Lin Chu first.

By this time, Lin Chu was already in the KTV booth, ”smashing” each other’s heads with Zhang Songwen.

During a break.

He opened the video file, lit a cigarette, and watched with a smile.

The opening scene was a fish stall.

”Brother Qiang” was skillfully gutting a fish when suddenly, his phone rang.

”Ah Qiang, guess who this is?”

The background music immediately grew tense.

”Fuck your mother! What damn scammer is this? Piss off! I’ll call the cops on you, you bastard!”

He initially thought it was a scam call and cursed emotionally before hanging up.

But soon, a second call came in.

”Ah Qiang, it’s me again. My name is Lin Chu.”

”Lin Chu?”

His expression froze. His body went rigid, and the hand holding the fish knife began to tremble uncontrollably.

Then, he suddenly covered his face with his hands and squatted down, his emotions clearly intense yet suppressed.

”Six o’clock tonight. Beihai Fishing Village, Private Room 1. I’ll be waiting for you.”

The voice on the phone spoke again, then hung up.

The scene changed.

”Ah Qiang” was getting ready to go to the dinner. At home, he took a bottle of good liquor from a cabinet, but after a moment’s thought, a muscle in his cheek twitched, and he put it back.

He then opened a drawer and took out two packs of premium cigarettes, but after some hesitation, he put those back as well.

Finally, he gritted his teeth, made up his mind, and grabbed a fruit knife from the kitchen. He quickly sharpened it to a razor’s edge, carefully hid it in his clothes, and then left the house.

He rode his little electric scooter to the restaurant entrance.

He hesitated at the door, smoking two cigarettes one after another, taking deep drags as if trying to suck all the smoke into his lungs. After agonizing for a long time, he finally made his decision, gripped the fruit knife hidden in his clothes, and resolutely walked in.

The moment he pushed open the door to the private room...

Inside, lined up from left to right, was a row of men in black suits. In the center, Lin Chu sat commandingly, wearing sunglasses. Seeing someone enter, he pushed the sunglasses up onto his forehead and said with a faint smile, ”Ah Qiang, today, I’m treating you to fish.”

The screen abruptly cut to black.

The end.

Even though he had shot the video himself, watching it now, Lin Chu felt a tingle of anticipation.

To be fair, his company’s employees really knew their stuff.

From the cinematography and frame rate to the background music, combined with Zhang Songwen’s superb acting, they had perfectly built up the atmosphere, making people’s imaginations run wild—’What kind of history do these two have? What sort of deep-seated grudge?’

But that cliffhanger... it was such a dick move. Utterly shameless. Cutting it off right there left the audience hanging.

’Someone’s gonna get killed for this.’

Lin Chu could already predict that he would definitely get roasted for this.

But...

The ”art” was now complete.

’It’s just a short video, after all. This is fine.’

’The quality is good enough.’

’The gimmick is there.’

’If the viewers really want to see a sequel, well, I can just renew with Zhang Songwen for another day tomorrow.’

He even felt a secret thrill.

’Just for kicks.’

With these thoughts...

Lin Chu casually replied to Zhang Peng: ”Post it! The quality is fine. Post it now! Just like this!”

Zhang Peng, who had been waiting, replied, ”OK. Posting it right away.”

And so.

At 2:32 PM, Lin Chu’s Douyin account published its second video.

On his end, Lin Chu also casually posted on his Moments.

”Filmed a funny skit with Zhang Songwen. My short video debut. See you in the livestream tonight.”

After posting.

The break ended. Lin Chu returned to the KTV booth, exchanged a smile with Zhang Songwen, and went back to smashing prop bottles over their heads.

They hadn’t finished filming that scene yet.

’I guess this counts as me personally experiencing a day in the life of an actor.’

...

The short video went out.

The company’s promoters continued to unleash their money power, pushing out wave after wave of paid promotion traffic.

The video was pushed to user after user through big data algorithms.

The popularity was climbing.

Likes and comments quickly began to pop up.

”Holy shit! Brother Qiang!”

”What’s going on? Is *Raging Storm* getting a sequel?”

”I can’t take it! Bros, abandon ship! It’s a classic cliffhanger, cuts off right at the good part! There’s no more!”

”The cinematography and atmosphere are actually pretty good, and the music’s great. Feels a bit like a movie.”

”Interesting. What show is this?”

”This streamer is such a troll!”

”Looks like he’s pulling some kind of new stunt.”

”So the celebrity guest in the stream tonight is Brother Qiang? Awesome! Looking forward to it.”

”Hold on, who the hell is this guy? Hiring a new celebrity every day! This is too damn lavish! What’s his net worth? What kind of tycoon is he?”

”He doesn’t just hire a celebrity every day, he also gives away ten million worth of gifts daily.”

”Let me fill you guys in. This is Lin Chu, a young rich guy who just blew up in Peng City. Runs a media company, owns a golf club, does luxury goods and investments. Worth billions. Probably just messing around online for fun ’cause he got his heart broken. You can search ’Peng City’s most devoted,’ this tycoon used to be a bootlicker too.”

”Domineering CEO on the loose, peasants scatter! Bros, get in on this! I won a Tank 300 yesterday, thanks to my Brother Chu.”

”You really got it???? It wasn’t an inside job or a scam?”

”Check my profile, I’m a real person. I’ll post a video of me picking up the car after I claim the prize.”

In less than an hour, the comment section completely exploded.

The vibe of the video itself, combined with the hype Lin Chu had been building in his livestreams over the past two days, had finally created a channel for people to interact and communicate. All sorts of curious onlookers were chiming in.

Moreover, the company’s paid commenters were mixed in with the crowd, steering the conversation, mainly to introduce Lin Chu’s background.

They also made sure to immediately steer the narrative back on track whenever the tone in the comments section seemed to be going in the wrong direction.

This was all part of the marketing.

To most people, at this moment, it just felt like this streamer... was truly one of a kind.

There was no one else like him on the entire internet.

His main brand was being rich and willful, knowing how to have fun, pulling off incredible stunts, and also spoiling his fans.

...

「8:00 PM.」

Before the stream, Lin Chu glanced at the video. The number of likes had already surpassed five hundred thousand, and it was only the first day.

As its popularity grew, the numbers would surely continue to climb over time.

He opened his livestream room. Even without using his money power for promotion yet, Lin Chu saw the number of online viewers begin to skyrocket.

Tsk.

’This is getting interesting.’

’The momentum of popularity is building up, starting to accumulate.’

”Hello everyone, I’m Lin Chu. I just finished treating Brother Qiang to fish, and now I’ve kidnapped him and brought him to our livestream.”

”Brother Qiang, it’s okay, don’t panic. If you’re really panicking, just blink your eyes and we’ll see if anyone comes to save you.”

Lin Chu said with a casual smile.

An effortlessly smooth opening.

Zhang Songwen: ...

He cooperatively blinked twice, a look of pure innocence on his face, instantly slipping into performance mode.

Inside, however, he was still reeling from what had just happened.

’I haven’t recovered yet.’

Just now in the office, Lin Chu had given him a huge gift: a full set, including a gold statue, a Golden Golf Club, and a Golf Card.

’All these things together... they must be worth several million, right?’

’Definitely.’

The total value was even higher than his fee for this commercial endorsement.

’Unbelievable!’

’What kind of god-tier client is this?!’

’The world of the rich... I really don’t get it.’

...
