Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

126: After all, it was you who came to beg me.Si Nan thought for a moment and almost forgot. ”Besides, that side is in urgent need of people to manage it. What can a single heavily injured Bai Zichuan do? Better safe than sorry; what if a few zombies sneak in? There needs to be someone on patrol 24 hours a day, and someone to watch the surveillance.

Oh, right. There are over 2,000 old hens I just scavenged in Yunshu Mountain Villa. Go over and help me raise them well. That’s chicken soup for your wife and all of us.

Once you’re there, your wife will have eggs to eat. You can collect fresh eggs as soon as you arrive.”

Song Yuan: ”—”

”Hahaha, alright! Boss is mighty.” Song Yuan rarely laughed so happily; at this moment, he laughed like a Child.

Inside the room, Mei Xue was also incomparably excited hearing about ’chicken soup’ and ’eggs.’ Nowadays, many people couldn’t even eat instant noodles or bread, yet they could actually have hot, nutritious old hen soup and fresh eggs. What kind of treatment was this?

All these benefits depended on the young girl on the sofa. Her husband’s foresight was truly good, having sought refuge with Si Nan early on.

Si Nan turned her head to take a large plastic bag from Luo Sen’s hand and threw it into Song Yuan’s arms. ”For your Child.”

”This is?” Song Yuan hadn’t yet emerged from his excitement when a large bundle was added to his arms. After opening it, he saw it was full of items for a newborn baby—everything they needed most right now.

He was so moved he almost cried. He stood up and gave Si Nan a solemn 90-degree bow in his excitement. ”Thank you, Sister Nan.”

”That’s enough. Among everyone, you have the best combat strength. There will be no shortage of work for you in the future,” Si Nan waved her hand.

”Yes, Sister Nan, just give the word,” Song Yuan immediately expressed his stance.

Since Director Lin and the others hadn’t arrived yet, Si Nan explained the concerns Song Yuan had. ”As for me, I’ll take this opportunity to inspect the abilities of those three Building Lords and see if those survivors are as willing to submit as they claim.”

”Alright.” Song Yuan’s admiration for Si Nan grew. What was frightening was that she was only a girl in her early twenties; if she grew for a few more years, she would be even more extraordinary.

He admired his own foresight and his original choice too much.

As the two were talking, Director Lin and Ge Yue arrived, followed by a young man in his early twenties. It must be the brother-in-law, Mao Xin.

Upon arrival, Mao Xin was very sensible and handed over a large stack of Property Ownership Certificates. ”Boss, these are all the Property Ownership Certificates for our 88 households. Please keep them safe.”

Si Nan gave him an appreciative look.

”Give them to me.” Luo Sen reached out and took the Property Ownership Certificates from Mao Xin’s hand, casting a displeased glance at him because he was staring straight at his Nan Nan.

”Oh, hello, Mr. Luo.” Mao Xin politely extended his hand.

”Mm.” Luo Sen reluctantly gave Mao Xin’s fingers a symbolic shake.

Director Lin and Ge Yue hurriedly handed over the Property Ownership Certificates they had collected. ”These are ours. Boss, please take them.”

Luo Sen continued to take them.

Si Nan gestured for the three to sit. ”Why call me Boss? We’re not the underworld. From now on, just call me Sister Nan like Song Yuan does.”

The three thought: Is there a difference? Isn’t a ’Big Sister’ just a mob—forget it, whatever they called her was fine, as long as she provided food.

Ge Yue was the first to speak. ”Our Unit S is happy to submit, but there’s a question: how will the wall be built? What will we use to build it? What will it look like? When do we start working?”

Director Lin was not to be outdone. ”In our Unit M, not only do they like it, but everyone from the young to the old is incredibly excited. They all thank Sister Nan for her grace. We just don’t know when the food will be distributed? How many meals a day?”

Fortunately, he didn’t ask what they would be given to eat for every meal, or Si Nan would have been unhappy.

Si Nan said, ”Work starts immediately. You three will be the supervisors. I’ll give you the blueprints in a moment; just build according to the blueprints. You don’t need to worry about the materials.

Two meals will be distributed a day. As for what to eat, that depends on what Luo Sen and I can scavenge outside. Right now, it’s snowy and icy outside, making travel difficult. I can’t go out without an Armored Vehicle, and I can’t scavenge anything. Even the fuel needed for the Armored Vehicle is hard to find; many gas stations were looted long ago.

I’m not the only one out there with an Armored Vehicle like this, and I’m not the only one looking for supplies. Moreover, in the past few days, I’ve encountered powerfully evolved zombies, and dogs that ate zombie meat have grown larger than adult tigers. Luo Sen and I were almost eaten.

If you don’t believe me, see for yourselves. I’ll also send this video to the Property Owner Group later.”

Si Nan showed Director Lin and the others the video she took yesterday of hunting over a dozen Zombie Dogs at the Gas Company. The three were scared to death after watching it. ”Heavens, if even one of those got in, we’d lose our lives, let alone a dozen at once. It’s lucky you’re so skilled, Sister Nan, and have a gun in hand.”

Si Nan struck while the iron was hot. ”Exactly. Do you think it’s safe to scavenge for supplies outside? Is it easy? That’s risking one’s life to get things. Is it easy for me to support you?

So, I’ll check the progress and quality when I return in the evening. Don’t you dare be perfunctory with me. You can’t fool me. My house is as solid as an iron bucket; the consequence of being perfunctory is that all of you will lose your lives.

I also don’t like slackers. Except for the elderly and children who have no labor capacity, everyone must work. The zombies outside won’t always be this friendly.

If anyone dares to slack off and try to get a free meal, I’ll throw them over the wall to be torn apart alive by zombies. After all, you are the ones begging me. In the end, you are the biggest beneficiaries of this Residential Area becoming safe.”

These words weren’t pleasant to hear, but they were the cold, hard facts. Si Nan had to say them. It was better to speak bluntly upfront to make things easier later. She didn’t like dragging things out.

Director Lin, Ge Yue, and Mao Xin promised in unison, ”Don’t worry, Sister Nan. I guarantee everyone won’t.”

”That’s good.” Seeing the matter resolved, Si Nan hadn’t expected the task she wanted to do to be launched so easily. She stood up to leave.

Mao Xin had a question. ”Sister Nan, my brother-in-law said A City will become a ruined city. Will it?”

Si Nan asked him back, ”What happens if you don’t clean your house every day?”

Mao Xin: ”—”

Straight to the point!

It pierced right through his brain and heart.

Director Lin looked at his brother-in-law like he was an idiot. ”Are you stupid? You have to ask Sister Nan such a basic question? How could it not become a wasteland?

Of course it’s possible. City streets aren’t cleaned for years; garbage and zombies will pile up like mountains. Won’t it become a wasteland soon?”

”It’s more than just that,” Si Nan had to remind the three of them extremely seriously. ”A City has already fallen. The Authorities won’t choose to turn this place into an impregnable barrier against countless zombies. So, in the near future, this place will be a wasteland!

The disasters are far more than just these. In the future, various major natural disasters are likely to occur: Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Floods, Acid Rain, Extreme Cold, Extreme Heat, Toxic Fog, Insect Tides, Zombie Tides, Zombie Plant Tides from mutated plants, and Zombie Beast Tides from mutated dogs, cats, tigers, wolves, and so on—all are possible.

These are all terrifying disasters that, aside from the zombie threat, can equally take our lives in an instant. If everyone still wants to survive, then we must unite and get moving quickly. Prepare now; the situation is imminent.”
