Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

122: Awakening of SuperpowersSi Nan was shocked. Looking at the Zombie Wolves in front of her again, she had thought they were wolves from the seaside primitive forest safari park, but it turned out they were dogs.

”Mhm, they’re all dogs.”

Luo Sen’s confirmation made Si Nan’s brow furrow. That was terrifying; it had only been a month since the Apocalypse began, yet these dogs that ate zombie meat had actually evolved into massive Zombie Dogs with incredible speed. Their lethality was several times that of ordinary zombies.

If it were anyone else but the two of them, encountering over a dozen at once would mean certain death.

Luo Sen’s marksmanship was precise, taking down one with every bullet. She swapped his gun once in the middle, and all dozen or so Zombie Dogs were dealt with.

Once the remaining gas tanks were loaded, this branch company was empty; there was no longer any reason for it to exist.

Si Nan took out a piece of fresh meat and placed it in the innermost room. The scent of fresh meat immediately attracted the surrounding zombies. Once a sufficient number had gathered, Si Nan threw down a bomb.

”Bang!”

With a loud explosion, the entire building blew apart. Smoke filled the air as waves of fire scattered debris and mangled flesh in all directions. Sitting in the Armored Vehicle, Si Nan and Luo Sen watched calmly before starting the engine to head home.

As soon as they returned, they went to see Bai Zichuan. Aside from only being able to walk on one leg, everything else about him was normal.

”Thank you for coming to see me, Sister Nan. Go ahead and do your thing; Xiao Guan is enough here.” Bai Zichuan was cold on the outside but warm on the inside; looking at Si Nan sitting across from him, his heart felt very warm.

Si Nan spoke very bluntly. ”Don’t thank me. Being alive is due to your own strong will. If you really want to thank me, get better quickly and get back to work.

Get ready. After breakfast tomorrow morning, I’ll take you all somewhere.”

”Thanks, Sister Nan.” Bai Zichuan didn’t ask a single question and simply thanked her.

Si Nan was quite satisfied with this. ”Mm, as long as you’re not afraid I’ll sell you off.”

Before leaving, she looked back at Bai Zichuan meaningfully, curling her lips into a smile. ”Once we get there, you’ll have fresh chicken soup to drink.”

Bai Zichuan: ”—”

He really didn’t have such high hopes.

After Si Nan left, Guan Xiaowen blinked and smiled. ”Big Brother Bai, why did it look like Sister Nan had a mischievous smile just now?”

Bai Zichuan: ”—”

He thought so too, but he didn’t dare ask. Truly the recklessness of youth, not even afraid that Sister Nan might hear.

Si Nan naturally heard it. Nowadays, she was slowly transcending the limits of ordinary people, but it was harmless.

It was another busy day and another day of a bountiful harvest. Feeling cheerful, Si Nan took a steaming hot shower and, feeling refreshed, prepared a lavish dinner: three dishes, a soup, and some fruit.

The fireplace in the house was very effective. Once lit, the whole room quickly warmed up. She and Luo Sen wore ordinary loungewear and enjoyed their meal happily.

After dinner, Si Nan spread out a large map of A City, circling the areas that had already been scavenged before looking for other targets.

She had made up her mind: search for supplies as quickly as possible. The remaining tasks could be left to Song Yuan, Ma Bufan, and the others. But judging by the courtyard that surrounded her yesterday, there were still quite a few survivors in the Residential Area.

It must be because many people went out to search for food last time and had a good harvest, allowing them to hold out until now. It had already been a month, and those who survived were no pushovers. So, she wasn’t in a hurry; the best time would be when they reached the end of their ropes and ran out of food and water.

Just as she was thinking this, Song Yuan suddenly tagged her urgently.

”Sister Nan, the Building Leaders of Units M and S want to talk to you.”

Si Nan opened her beautiful eyes with amusement. ”Oh? Now every unit has self-selected Building Leaders acting like kings? I really didn’t know about this.”

”I only found out last night too. Both Building Leaders who want to meet you are my former colleagues. They even introduced me to buy this apartment, but they haven’t practiced Combat Techniques.

I was thinking that they understand the situation in each building better now, which would be beneficial for us. I didn’t ask specifically what they wanted to talk about; I only asked them one question: whether they would act against you like the others.

They said they absolutely wouldn’t. I thought about it all night before telling you.”

Si Nan fell silent. People wanting to cooperate with her were undoubtedly doing so for food and the Armored Vehicle; there was no third option. But if they wanted to do business with her, Si Nan, they had to offer something that would maximize her benefits. Otherwise, she wouldn’t mind waiting another month.

Thinking of this, and since Song Yuan was a reliable person, she agreed. ”Fine, we’ll talk after I wake up tomorrow.”

By the time Luo Sen came out of the bathroom, Si Nan was already asleep. As usual, he took out the Emerald that was half-absorbed, converted all the energy inside, and injected it into Si Nan’s body. After waiting a while, the result was like a stone sinking into the ocean; Si Nan didn’t have any uncomfortable reactions, and nothing happened at all.

He took out two at once, converting one at a time to help her absorb them, watching her without blinking. After observing for a while and seeing her still safe and sound, he wanted to know where the limit of Si Nan’s body was.

So he continued to convert the second one for her to absorb. This time, Si Nan had a reaction; she frowned in her sleep and turned over uncomfortably before continuing to sleep.

Luo Sen understood; the current limit for her body was three stones.

Fearing that Si Nan might have a bad reaction later, he didn’t dare sleep. He picked up his phone to check the Residential Area’s surveillance footage. When he went up last time, he had incidentally connected it to his phone to make it easier to monitor the movements in the Residential Area.

From the surveillance footage, he saw that after he drove all the zombies out of the Residential Area, the survivors became even more frenzied. Without the siege of zombies, those people became even more unscrupulous in preying on the weak.

Women and children in disadvantaged positions were the first targets of plunder. These people wouldn’t just steal their food; they would also drive them to extinction, not even sparing the children.

But it didn’t matter; it was just dog-eat-dog. In the footage, several women had been seen snatching things from the elderly that night.

However, there were also unit buildings that maintained a moral bottom line. Although Units M, O, and S were under controlled rule, they were also managed uniformly and stood united against outsiders.

Once others came to plunder their food, the Building Leader would lead all the men to resist, and all supplies would be confiscated and distributed uniformly.

Two of these units were the ones Song Yuan mentioned that wanted to talk to Nan Nan. He would wait and see what they wanted.

At the same time, four more buildings—Units N, Q, U, and Y—had been bloodily purged. He and Nan Nan had only been out for one day, and four buildings were wiped out in that time. He would check who did it.

Rewinding all the surveillance footage, he finally found them. It was the people from Unit T—nine men armed with iron bars. They smashed into one home after another, killing and looting, leaving no one alive wherever they went!

Although he didn’t care about the lives of the people in the Residential Area, he didn’t like the existence of such thugs. Immediately, he got out of bed, stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, and controlled a group of zombies to attack Unit T, dealing with those people.

The next day, Si Nan woke up very early. Recently, without morning exercise and eating so much, she could clearly feel she had gained some weight.

Seeing that it wasn’t light out yet, she turned on the night light to reach for her phone, but accidentally knocked over her water cup. She reached out, and with a thought, the water cup was suddenly frozen in mid-air, right by the edge of the bed.

”Heavens, what’s going on?”
