Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

113: You old ox, you still say you don’t like the compass?Instantly, Si Nan’s surprised laughter erupted in the workshop. ”Hahaha, we’re rich, we’re rich! So many eggs! That’s more than half of what I have stored. Luo Sen, quick, quick, bring the cardboard boxes, let’s collect the eggs!”

It was an immense joy.

”Mm-hmm, coming! There are so many cardboard boxes here.” Luo Sen brought a large stack of new boxes, set up a small stool to assemble them on the spot, while Si Nan collected the eggs box after box.

As the saying goes, men and women working together don’t get tired. Si Nan finished collecting all the eggs in the factory. The floor was covered with boxes of eggs, leaving no room to even step. The more they worked, the more energetic they became.

”Hahaha, from now on, we can boil them, fry them, stir-fry them—eat them however we want without any worries. Uh, wait, even without these eggs, I actually wouldn’t have any worries.”

She babbled happily like a muttering Old Woman until not a single egg was left. She turned her head to look at the old hens still eating, the mischievous smirk on the corners of her mouth impossible to hide.

She immediately ran outside to drive the delivery truck, a chicken cage truck, over. She caught all the remaining thousand-plus live chickens and put them into the truck, then used a steel cable to hitch the truck to the back of the Armored Vehicle.

After finishing this, she returned to the factory and teamed up with Luo Sen to ransack the place, not even sparing the chicken feed, before happily driving toward the Resort Hotel.

Just as it turned completely dark, the two of them emerged from the hotel. They shared a smile, and having returned fully loaded, they made it back to Yunshu Mountain Villa.

Si Nan cleared out one of the Row Houses to use as a temporary chicken coop. She spread the old quilts brought back from the hotel underneath to give the hens a warm home, then provided them with feed and water before going to wash up with peace of mind.

After eating and drinking her fill and lying comfortably in bed to sleep, Si Nan finally remembered to check her phone. What she saw made her sit up immediately, tagging everyone in the group to see who was still alive:

”Aaaaah, Sister Nan, you, the missing person, finally showed up! We were almost gnawed on by zombies, waaaah~” The first to wail was Ma Bufan. They had been fighting zombies for a day and a night and didn’t dare to sleep, barely holding on with dark circles under their eyes.

Song Yuan: ”Still alive! Fortunately, the security door is sturdy, and the furniture I bought was solid wood—it’s heavy. We blocked the door, and it wasn’t broken through, but the yard is full of zombies.”

Bai Zichuan: ”My family is safe for now, but it was too thrilling. My family was almost gone. The zombies are too smart; they couldn’t break in through the blocked door, so they climbed down from the floor above to smash my balcony glass.”

”Luckily, I nailed thick wooden boards in advance, but I doubt they’ll hold for long. Does the Boss have any ideas?”

Finally, Guan Xiaoning: ”Sister Nan, the zombies have gone crazy. Many more people died in the Residential Area this time. Out of our classmates, only Bufan and I are left alive. Waaaah, it’s too tragic.”

Si Nan replied: ”Hold on, everyone. We’ll talk when I get back. I said before that zombies would continue to evolve; they’ll be even more powerful in another month.”

”What? Sister Nan, you’re not at home?” Ma Bufan started making a fuss again.

”No, I’ve been out searching for supplies for two days. I’ll be back tomorrow.”

There was someone even more concerned about Si Nan’s whereabouts than Ma Bufan. ”Strange, where has that little girl gone these past two days? She hasn’t returned yet. Could she be sick?”

Deng Jiude shot Zhuo Guangshun a look: ”You Old Bull still say you don’t like the little girl Si Nan, yet here you are worrying about her. Unfortunately, it’s too late. Didn’t you see the man who went out with her?”

”He’s younger than you, more handsome, and his skills are even better than Si Nan’s. Those two are a match made in heaven. You... have no chance.”

”Will you die if you don’t speak? Don’t just wait to eat without working. Go nail the wooden boards quickly. If zombies attack the door again, we’re all finished. Also, lose some of that fat and save me some food.”

”Aiya, just because you, an Old Bull, can’t eat tender grass, don’t take your anger out on me! I’m eating my own portion, okay?”

On her end, after Si Nan turned off her phone, her mind raced, wondering whether to have Bai Zichuan come to guard Yunshu Mountain Villa, or Song Yuan?

Luo Sen knew she was thinking about something just by looking at her, so he didn’t disturb her, quietly pulling her into his arms.

Outside the window, the cold wind howled and zombies roared, yet Luo Sen was blissfully happy.

The next day, Si Nan didn’t get up until she woke up naturally. First, she checked on her followers in the group. Seeing they were all active and alive, she didn’t say anything and got up to wash.

Luo Sen always woke up earlier than her; she didn’t know what he had been up to.

Actually, he was patrolling to see if any unclean things had entered the villa. He also cut his finger and smeared his blood on the perimeter wall at intervals, marking the territory.

This way, even if he wasn’t there, zombies wouldn’t dare enter and would only wander around the perimeter, which could also deter enemies wanting to seize Yunshu Mountain Villa.

After breakfast, Si Nan was in no hurry to return. She drove toward the Secret Weapon Storage as usual; she would only know if it had fallen once she got there.

The snow was much lighter today, and the temperature seemed a few degrees higher than before, so the zombies on the road were exceptionally active.

Fortunately, this was a remote area with few residents. The surroundings were mostly livestock farms, vegetable plots, and places like hotels, so there weren’t many zombies.

Half an hour later, the road was clear all the way to the Abandoned Factory. From a distance, it looked dilapidated; it was hard to imagine such a place hid munitions.

But as the Armored Vehicle drove closer, the difference became apparent. Beneath the dilapidated exterior, the interior was a very modern and advanced building. This place had fallen, and there were even zombies wearing camouflage uniforms.

After getting out of the vehicle, Si Nan immediately pulled Luo Sen toward the open gates. The inside was already empty; it had likely fallen during a transfer.

The bloodstains around had long since frozen into ice. There were a few scattered guns on the ground, and bullets were strewn everywhere.

Luo Sen walked over to pick up the guns on the ground while Si Nan picked up the bullets one by one. Afterward, they followed the trail of scattered bullets down to the basement, where there were a dozen or so camouflage-clad zombies.

Luo Sen took care of them one by one. Besides blood and minced meat on the ground, many good things had been left behind. It was clear they had been in a great hurry during the transfer.

Si Nan crouched down and picked up a Sniper Rifle. ”It’s heavy—a genuine, high-quality gun. Although we’re just picking up leftovers, I’m satisfied. Not bad, not bad, hahaha~”

She amused herself.

”Sister, Sister, what’s that row over there? So many knives.” Luo Sen stood in front of a wall lined with rows of various military knives. The entire wall was covered. He scanned the area and took one down.

Si Nan ran over and excitedly grabbed Luo Sen’s arm. ”My god, they’re all military knives! So cool! You have a good eye; the one in your hand is the best and most expensive kind. My father used to have one; he liked it so much he couldn’t put it down.”

”Later, when he was buried, I wiped that knife clean and let it accompany him.”

Si Nan’s mood suddenly plummeted. Seeing the knife in Luo Sen’s hand made her feel as if her father were still there.

”You have me from now on.” Luo Sen immediately pulled Si Nan into his arms, his large hand supporting the back of her head as he pressed her close to his chest.

Suddenly, ”Mmph!”
