Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 192: Chapter 189: Lend it to You Chapter 192: Chapter 189: Lend it to You But it was too late for Bai Yishan to regret, she could only blame herself for being too cautious at the beginning, not trusting Huo Sining’s gambling skills, nor daring to take the risk.

“Ningning, do you plan to turn over all these jade roughs?”

Knowing that she had missed out on a good assistant, Bai Yishan, although regretful, was also aware that the pressing matter at hand was not to dwell on these thoughts but to acquire the batch of jade roughs from Huo Sining’s hands.

Huo Sining could tell from Bai Yishan’s expression that she definitely regretted her decision from that day, but he didn’t point it out, and simply nodded, saying,

“I have no use for so many pieces of jadeite. Even if I want to collect, I only plan to keep the superior pieces. These are all too ordinary; I don’t even consider them.”

Bai Yishan’s mouth twitched upon hearing this. Though what Huo Sining said sounded arrogant, she couldn’t help but admit in her heart that with his remarkable gambling skills, collecting superior jadeite wouldn’t be a difficult task.

“There are a total of fifteen jade roughs here. Four each of Hibiscus Kind and golden silk type, two Flower Green Furong Jelly, and the rest are all above glutinous rice type, all good materials. I’ve roughly estimated, these jade roughs together are worth at least thirty million.”

This price was clearly a lowball, just the ten jade roughs below glutinous rice type were almost worth twenty million, not to mention there was one piece of glutinous rice type that weighed nearly twenty catties.

Bai Yishan knew that if these roughs were taken to an auction, they could possibly sell for forty million or even more.

The price Huo Sining offered her was clearly a friendly one, but it still caused Bai Yishan’s complexion to change.

She had only ten million in starting capital, and now she had already spent several million of it; she didn’t have much capital to move around and certainly not enough to absorb so many materials.

However, she really saw the merit in these materials; she couldn’t bear to let go just by looking at those brightly colored jade roughs, and the spark in her eyes was no longer fervent, only dim with sorrow.

Upon seeing Bai Yishan’s troubled face, Huo Sining knew what she was agonizing over. He smiled, and his suggestion surprised her instantly.

“I asked you to come here and showed you these materials because I intend to sell them to you. I know you’re short on raw materials and funds now, and you might not be able to handle all these roughs, so I can lend them to you first.”

“Lend them to me?” Bai Yishan stared at Huo Sining with wide eyes. What did he mean by that?

Seeing the confusion in Bai Yishan’s eyes, Huo Sining explained, “I can lend you all these roughs. I’ll just take a four million deposit. You have one year; once your studio is up and making money, then you can pay me back. I don’t care how much you earn; when the time comes, you just need to pay me the remaining twenty-six million.”

Bai Yishan was astonished, “Lend them all to me? Aren’t you worried that I might default?”

At this, Huo Sining laughed, “You could default, of course, but on my side I have already recovered my capital of four million. When it really comes down to it, I haven’t lost anything. It’s just wasted time, and having come to understand someone’s true character.”

“But if you default, you might not be as lucky as I. Your studio, without a source of jadeite, couldn’t last long; I don’t think I need to spell out how clear that is to you.”

“Of course, you could also go and find someone else to gamble on stones for you, but I don’t think there’s anyone who knows more about it than I do. If you hire someone else to gamble on stones, you might end up losing everything. Compared to working with me, no matter whom you get help from, you won’t get jade roughs at such a favorable price.”

Huo Sining’s words exuded such confidence that they bordered on arrogance, yet Bai Yishan couldn’t find the words to retort, because she knew Huo Sining had every right to be confident, and what Huo Sining said was indeed true.

Of course, Bai Yishan was also very aware that meeting Huo Sining was a stroke of luck akin to encountering a beneficent patron.

Having an expert in gambling stones could bring absolute security to her studio. Bai Yishan would not think twice about embracing such a support; how could she possibly offend Huo Sining for a bit of short-term gain?

Of course, Huo Sining had another reason for trusting Bai Yishan. That was after spending some time dealing with Bai Yishan, she found that both their personalities and ways of conducting business were quite similar.

Huo Sining had a good impression of Bai Yishan. Unlike Wu Jingyi, though Bai Yishan was also capable of scheming and calculating, she was definitely not a duplicitous, insidious character. Such a person was worth trusting.

Huo Sining was a woman of her word, and Bai Yishan was by no means dishonorable either. She immediately took the initiative to draft a contract. After signing and stamping it, she quickly transferred four million into Huo Sining’s account.

As for those dozen or so jade roughs, it was impossible to just walk out with them, as that would be too conspicuous; they had to be hauled away in a suitcase.

Bai Yishan lived in a small apartment which, naturally, didn’t have the comprehensive facilities and a basement like Huo Sining’s place. So, once she left her apartment, she headed straight for the bank to deposit the suitcase full of jade roughs in a safety deposit box.

Huo Sining didn’t feel that selling the roughs to Bai Yishan at a bargain meant a loss for herself.

It was a long-term deal. Her willingness to collaborate with Bai Yishan in this way was in hopes of rapidly expanding Bai Yishan’s studio’s market.

In the future, when Bai Yishan’s studio was struggling to meet demand, her jade roughs could sell continuously without end.

Besides, she felt the money came too easily and thus didn’t mind a few million in discrepancy.

One should know that she had only invested three million of capital to begin with, and she had already earned so much from it. And of the roughs she had only processed a dozen or so, with the bulk still remaining.

If she enjoyed the meat of success, she must also let Bai Yishan, who did the legwork, drink the soup; otherwise, if the deal went south, she would also lose out.

Of course, Huo Sining had not been completely transparent with Bai Yishan. In fact, she had processed sixteen roughs this time, with each one appreciating in value. Excluding the fifteen pieces Bai Yishan took, there was actually one High Ice Type Jadeite, “Spring with Colors.”

It was a piece of old pit-type jade with a yellow sand skin, the largest of the four additional pieces that Wu Linger had not wanted, weighing three kilograms, squared and well-shaped, with only a delicate Python Band without any pine flowers, and its outer surface didn’t look impressive.

But once Huo Sining cut through a thin layer of the outer skin, it revealed green, and within that intense, vibrant green, there was a hint of spring color.

High Ice Type Jadeite, full of vitality, the color was very natural, and that touch of purple was so brilliantly enchanting it was hard to look away.

Purple jadeite is called “Violet,” referring to the spring color. And the term “color” stands for the pure green, so “Spring with Colors” indicates a piece of jadeite with both purple and green.

Purple with green, more green than purple, this is “Spring with Colors.”

Such jadeite is rare, especially when it boasts both purple and green combined with sufficient vitality and fine quality, making it something encountered rather than sought.
