Urban Martial Saint

”My situation is different from theirs.” Knife Saint said, ”I haven’t cultivated the authentic inheritance of Buddhist and Taoist Magic, nor do I have a method to replace my body. So, by the time I was over two hundred years old, my body had completely decayed and was almost unusable. Although my strength had already surpassed the realm of Unity of Heaven and Man, in fact, it only aggravated the aging of my body; because in this realm, the external forces’ damage to the body is simply too great.”

”But, your current body doesn’t seem to have any problems?” Ye Qing looked at Knife Saint and asked. The current Knife Saint looked just like a man in his forties or fifties. Where was the decay he was talking about?

Knife Saint said, ”That’s because I thought of a way to protect my own body.”

”Oh?” Ye Qing looked at Knife Saint in surprise, eager to know exactly what method Knife Saint used.

Knife Saint took a deep breath, slowly looking at the six skeleton frames beside him, and said, ”Do you know the identity of these skeletons?”

Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”I only know that the strength of these skeletons is very strong.”

”Their strength is not just strong...” Knife Saint said in a deep voice, ”If they were still alive, their strength would definitely surpass anyone you’ve seen now!”

”This...” Ye Qing looked at Knife Saint, and said, ”Including you?”

”Including me!” Knife Saint’s answer was very straightforward, without any hint of embarrassment.

”Uh...” Ye Qing scratched his head, left speechless by the answer. The strength of these six skeleton frames, it seems, is indeed not weak.

”You ask this question because you don’t know their identity. If you knew, you wouldn’t have asked!” Knife Saint took a deep breath, looked at the six skeleton frames, and said, ”The six of them are Divine Clan!”

”What!?” Ye Qing almost jumped up, looking at those six skeleton frames in shock. They were Divine Clan? What kind of joke is this?

Although after chatting with Knife Saint for a while, Ye Qing became more certain that Divine Clan indeed existed. However, now Knife Saint tells him that there are six Divine Clan skeleton frames here, and Ye Qing still finds it hard to accept.

”I know you can’t accept it, but it’s the truth.” Knife Saint said, ”They are all Divine Clan, but they’re already dead.”

”This... where did you get this?” Ye Qing asked, ”Are they really dead? I... I just saw them moving!”

”Moving is only because their power still exists within them, it’s a conditioned reflex of power, but they aren’t alive!” Knife Saint said, ”They’ve been dead for many years.”

”Then where did you get these six skeleton frames?” Ye Qing asked.

”Where else?” Knife Saint chuckled, said, ”Under the heavens, aside from the Demon Hideout Cave having complete Divine Clan corpses, where else would there be complete Divine Clan corpses?”

”Demon Hideout Cave!?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened. He was very familiar with the Demon Hideout Cave. Are there Divine Clan corpses in it? He has visited so many times, why hasn’t he ever seen Divine Clan corpses?

However, thinking of what the Purple Robe Lama said last time. The Yan Family’s Divine Clan corpse was also obtained from the Demon Hideout Cave, so now Ye Qing feels a bit more at ease. In the Demon Hideout Cave, there are Divine Clan corpses; this should be a fact, right?

”Looking at you, it seems you’ve been to the Demon Hideout Cave as well.” Knife Saint said.

More than just been to the Demon Hideout Cave, Ye Qing was probably the only one who could walk freely in there. Even though people from the Wanyan Family are heirs of the Demon Sect, they still have to be cautious in front of demon pets. Ye Qing is different; the demon pets treat him very well. In the Demon Hideout Cave, he really could go anywhere.

”The Demon Hideout Cave hides many Divine Clan corpses. No one knows why, but it’s a fact!” Knife Saint said, ”Back then, my body was nearly decayed. If I continued that way, I wouldn’t have lasted much longer. However, when I was in the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, I obtained another secret, which is that the bodies of the Divine Clan are immortal. So, I wondered about the differences between the bodies of the Divine Clan and us mortals. Why are their bodies immortal? So, to survive, I went to the Demon Hideout Cave, exerted immense effort, and finally brought out six Divine Clan corpses!”

At this point, Knife Saint glanced at the six skeleton frames, smiling, said, ”I must say, it was these six skeleton frames that saved me. After I brought them out, they resisted. But they’ve been dead for so many years, so in the end, I subdued them. I studied their bodies, but didn’t gain much. I couldn’t discover why their bodies are immortal. However, during the research, I made another discovery.”

”What discovery?” Ye Qing quickly asked.

Knife Saint said, ”The discovery is, if you release part of your internal power, your body will no longer suffer from the consumption of power. Moreover, in a fake death state, there is almost no consumption of a person’s body, allowing the body to survive much longer.”

”So you released part of your power?” Ye Qing asked.

”Of course, the power must be released, but how to release it is the problem.” Knife Saint said, ”To save my life, I had to release ninety percent of my power. However, if I released that much power, my strength would diminish too much, which was not the result I wanted. So, how to release power and preserve one’s strength is a big issue!”

”So what did you do?” Ye Qing quickly asked. Since Knife Saint is talking about this, it shows that he must have found a solution.

”Hehehe...” Knife Saint chuckled, slowly extending his hand to caress the Dragon-breaking Knife beside him, said, ”Did you feel anything strange when you took this knife earlier?”

Ye Qing looked at the Dragon-breaking Knife, said, ”It seems like there’s a suction force inside that can absorb a person’s power.”

”That’s correct!” Knife Saint laughed, said, ”This power is what I left in the Dragon-breaking Knife. I infused ninety percent of my power into the Dragon-breaking Knife, which acts as my second body, carrying my ninety percent power. The remaining ten percent remains in my body!”

”Ah?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened, looking at the Dragon-breaking Knife in shock. This was too astonishing, wasn’t it? A long knife can store a person’s power?

”I know you find this hard to believe, but it’s the truth.” Knife Saint said, ”Therefore, now the Dragon-breaking Knife is basically a part of my body. Only when I hold the Dragon-breaking Knife, am I the true Knife Saint. Without the Dragon-breaking Knife, my strength would be diminished by ninety percent.”

”Can such a thing really be done?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

”Once you reach this realm, try it yourself and you will know.” Knife Saint chuckled, slowly stroking the Dragon-breaking Knife, said, ”The Dragon-breaking Knife is a famed instrument; it won’t be damaged. Even if it bears my ninety percent power, it won’t decay or age. Additionally, to prevent the power from diminishing when I’m in a fake death state, I left a suction force inside the Dragon-breaking Knife to absorb external forces, enhancing the power within the Dragon-breaking Knife. So, when you touched the Dragon-breaking Knife earlier, that suction force would have absorbed your powers!”

Ye Qing glanced at Fat Wang; the guy was sucked to the point of collapsing on the ground. He had only recovered a bit after taking the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill; otherwise, he might still be lying on the ground.

Knife Saint looked at Ye Qing, said, ”However, your luck is relatively good. You have the Taoist Sovereign in your hand, so the Dragon-breaking Knife can’t absorb your powers!”

Ye Qing didn’t explain further. Actually, the Dragon-breaking Knife failed to absorb his power mainly because the power of Buddhist and Taoist Magic in his body was resisting, not related much to the Taoist Sovereign. Of course, Knife Saint didn’t know Ye Qing had such immense power in his body, so naturally, he couldn’t guess all this.

”I infused my power into the Dragon-breaking Knife and then entered a fake death state. However, for safety, I left a backup!” Knife Saint said, ”When the Dragon-breaking Knife touches my body, I will wake up and regain all my strength as Knife Saint. So, I set up a mechanism; the Dragon-breaking Knife is placed not far from the coffin. Once my descendants push the Dragon-breaking Knife down, I will wake up and regain all my fighting power.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing suddenly understood. No wonder when he pushed the Dragon-breaking Knife down, a mechanism appeared below, and Knife Saint awakened; this was the reason.

”However, to prevent someone from taking the Dragon-breaking Knife, I set up another mechanism, which is these six skeletons.” Knife Saint said, ”I placed the six skeletons in a stone coffin, surrounding the area. If anyone pulls out the Dragon-breaking Knife, it would trigger the mechanism, raising these six coffins, and these six skeletons would appear. This way, these six skeletons could block the intruder, which is a small mechanism!”

Ye Qing looked at the six skeleton frames and said, ”Can these six skeleton frames really block the intruder? I think they can’t even block me.”

”The strength of these six skeleton frames isn’t great, but the key point is their bodies are immortal. Unless your power surpasses theirs, you cannot harm them.” Knife Saint paused and added, ”Also, the key point is that once the six stone coffins appear, the cave’s mechanism activates, sealing the cave so no one can escape. To unlock the mechanism, there are two ways: one is to open it internally from the Sword Saint Sect, the other is to kill these six skeleton frames, use their bones to refill the stone coffins, re-submerging the coffins.”
