Urban Martial Saint

The giant’s underwater plants couldn’t harm Ye Qing and were clearly enraged by Ye Qing, charging forward with the intent to battle Ye Qing head-on.

Ye Qing was extremely frustrated, never expecting to encounter such a water monster in the lake. No wonder this area around the lake had never been developed. Presumably, those who came here before also fell victim to the giant’s deadly hands.

Faced with the giant’s aggressive approach, avoiding it was impossible for Ye Qing. In the water, his speed definitely couldn’t match the giant’s. As the giant rushed forward, Ye Qing could only grip the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao tightly, preparing for a head-on confrontation with the giant.

The giant moved incredibly fast, reaching Ye Qing in just a few strides, and raised its hand to smack down at Ye Qing. The giant’s massive size, standing about a zhang tall, completely dwarfed Ye Qing. Its palm was as large as a winnowing basket, incredibly daunting, giving a sense of powerless resistance.

Ye Qing didn’t care about all that and forcefully raised the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao, chopping towards the giant’s hand. At that moment, the only thing he could rely on was the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao and his own robust physique.

The giant’s hand crashed into the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao, and Ye Qing felt a tremendous force strike him, pushing his feet down into the silt at the lakebed. Of course, the giant wasn’t unscathed either; a huge cut appeared on its hand, blood gushing out and instantly staining the surrounding area red.

”Roar!” The giant roared in anger again, seemingly further enraged by Ye Qing, as it once more raised its hand to strike at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing was more astonished than the giant; the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao was supposed to be overwhelmingly powerful. With one slash, Ye Qing expected the giant’s arm to be chopped off. Who would have thought it would just leave a cut on the giant’s arm? Was the giant’s skin really that thick? If even the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao couldn’t kill the giant, how could this battle be fought?

Seeing the giant again slap toward him, Ye Qing did not dare hesitate for a moment, immediately raising the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao to counterattack. Just like before, the giant’s arm was wounded by the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao, but Ye Qing sank a little deeper under the force of the slap. In this situation, it seemed unlikely that Ye Qing could chop off even one of the giant’s fingers, but the giant could definitely smack Ye Qing into the ground!

Ye Qing was also a bit worried; this bout of fighting had left him short of oxygen, and his Fetal Breathing Technique was becoming less effective. If this continued, he didn’t know if the giant could kill him, but he feared he would suffocate in the water.

The giant, however, paid no heed to Ye Qing’s concerns and again raised its hand to slap down. Ye Qing was now helpless; his lower body was trapped in the mud and he couldn’t move, only passively resist. Judging by the giant’s stance, it looked like it intended to treat him like a stake, smashing him directly into the ground!

Suddenly, there was a splash, as if something had fallen into the water nearby. Both Ye Qing and the giant paused, turning their heads in unison to see a portly figure diving down. Ye Qing immediately recognized that it was Fat Wang!

Seeing Fat Wang, Ye Qing suddenly panicked. Of all times, this guy had to come now, wasn’t this a death wish? Just because the giant couldn’t hurt Ye Qing, it didn’t mean it couldn’t harm Fat Wang.

Sure enough, upon seeing Fat Wang, it seemed like the giant found a new target and immediately turned to look at Fat Wang, its underwater plants rushing toward him.

Fat Wang, unaware of the situation, continued diving down. Of course, after a moment, he noticed the underwater plants. Fat Wang was initially startled, and quickly turned around, frantically kicking and paddling in the water to avoid the plants. But how could his speed match the plants’? In no time, the plants entangled him, dragging him toward the giant.

Ye Qing saw clearly Fat Wang being ensnared, his arms flailing wildly. But how could he wrestle free from the plants? He was being dragged quickly toward the giant.

The giant’s eyes glinted coldly, staring unyieldingly at Fat Wang, seemingly intent on swallowing him whole. Fat Wang flailed his chubby arms and legs desperately, but to no avail, as he was quickly being drawn toward the giant.

Ye Qing was extremely anxious; after all, he and Fat Wang had been through thick and thin, how could he just watch Fat Wang die here? He gripped the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao tightly, wedging it into the rock wall behind him, and then grabbed onto it in an attempt to pull himself out of the silt.

The giant, seeing this situation, immediately brought its palm down again. Ye Qing had no time to retract the Scabbard of the Ancestor of Miao Dao, so he could only raise his arms to defend himself. The giant’s palm slapped directly on Ye Qing’s arms.

The powerful force pushed Ye Qing further down into the mud, and at that moment, the Taoist Sovereign worn on his right wrist seemed to be affected by something, suddenly emitting a burst of Qing Mang.

The giant was initially stunned by the Qing Mang, then appeared to be frightened, letting out a howl and turning to flee. Originally entangled with Fat Wang, it seemed the giant couldn’t be bothered with him anymore, releasing him. Without even glancing back at Ye Qing and the others, the giant quickly disappeared from Ye Qing’s sight.

Ye Qing felt a bit surprised, as he could tell that the Giant was scared of Qing Mang. Qing Mang is the power of the Taoist Sovereign, could it be that this Giant is frightened by the power of the Taoist Sovereign? But then, what exactly is this Giant? Does it know how strong the power of the Taoist Sovereign is? Or perhaps, does it know what the Taoist Sovereign is?

The situation with the Giant left Ye Qing with more questions. However, he didn’t have time to think about all that now. Holding onto the Scabbard of The Ancestor of Miao Dao, he slowly crawled out from the mud. On the other side, Fat Wang also crawled over, still shaken.

Seeing Fat Wang, Ye Qing felt a surge of anger, gesturing at him to ask why he got into the water without receiving his signal. The situation was extremely dangerous just now; if not for the Giant being scared away by the Taoist Sovereign, Fat Wang might have been eaten as a snack.

Fat Wang, equally emotional, gestured back at Ye Qing, but Ye Qing couldn’t figure out what the blockhead was trying to say. Running out of patience, he dragged Fat Wang up to the surface together.

The water flow at the bottom had petered out, and now the lake only resembled a lake. Ye Qing and Fat Wang were now in the water without being swept away, which was somewhat safer.

Grabbing onto the stones at the shore, Ye Qing took deep breaths and gradually recovered. Turning to look at Fat Wang, still in his diving suit and carrying an oxygen tank, Ye Qing felt another surge of anger and pointed at Fat Wang, saying, ”Can you stop making trouble?”

”Oh, what do you mean? How am I making trouble?” Fat Wang retorted immediately.

”I said I’d give you a signal before you come down, but you came down without getting any signal from me. What were you thinking?” Ye Qing replied, ”Given the situation, if I hadn’t helped you in time, you’d have been dragged away and eaten by that monster!”

”Oh, come on, I don’t like what you’re saying there!” Fat Wang responded at once, ”Why don’t you say that I scared the monster away when I came down, and that’s why you got saved? If it wasn’t for Fat Lord coming down to rescue you, you’d be big poop dragged out by that Water Monster!”

”Oh, give me a break!” Ye Qing replied moodily, ”Do you know how powerful that monster is? If it weren’t for our luck, we’d both be dead in here today! So, what were you thinking jumping down here? It’s suicidal!”

”You got some nerve to say that!” Fat Wang said, ”Fat Lord, I came down because you were down there for so long and there wasn’t even a sound, and blood was floating to the surface. I worried you might be in danger, so I jumped down to save you!”

Those words from Fat Wang indeed touched Ye Qing. Although Fat Wang could be a real nuisance at times, he couldn’t deny that Fat Wang was truly loyal. In such circumstances, he dared jump into the water to save him; certainly, others wouldn’t have done such a thing!

”Alright!” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”If we encounter such a situation again, don’t jump down without my signal. My body is impervious; if there’s a monster that even I can’t handle, you’ll only be throwing your life away going down!”

”You talk like you’re tougher than me!” Fat Wang muttered, turning to look at the water, ”By the way, what was that monster just now? I only saw something really big. What was it? And those things wrapping around me—were they pythons? But they seemed a lot longer than pythons. Plus, I didn’t see a snake head, what’s up with that?”

Apparently, Fat Wang almost got eaten yet still doesn’t know what he encountered.

”It was a Giant, probably about one zhang tall, covered with water plants. Very strong, and who knows what it is exactly!” Ye Qing said, ”The water plants have suckers and tentacles, like leeches. If they wrap around you, they will suck blood.”

”A Giant with water plants?” Fat Wang’s eyes widened, ”There are such monsters? What is this, a plant or an animal?”

”You ask me? Who should I ask...” Ye Qing shrugged, looking at the water and said, ”Still, it’s good the Water Monster ran away; we can continue diving now!”

”Oh.” Fat Wang also turned to look at the water and said, ”Did you find the entrance?”

”Wasn’t that obvious!” Ye Qing said, ”I almost got eaten by the Water Monster just after going down and have been fighting it ever since; how would I have time to look for any entrance!”

”Oh, that’s alright.” Fat Wang wiped his sweat awkwardly and said in a low voice, ”I had another look earlier, and the entrance... it seems it’s not in this place...”
