Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing knew through consecutive attempts of hacking, he couldn’t leave a trace on these skeletons. With just his Miao Dao Scabbard, he feared he couldn’t harm the six skeletons at all.

The crucial thing was not what these six skeletons were but how to deal with them. Their bodies were extraordinarily strong, making it impossible for Ye Qing to completely defeat them, yet they were relentlessly attacking him. In this situation, once Ye Qing’s strength is depleted, he would fall victim to these six skeletons.

After driving back the skeletons once again, Ye Qing turned to Fat Wang and asked, ”Fatty, how are you feeling?”

”My whole body feels weak, I can’t move!” Fat Wang groaned.

”Stop whining and get up quickly, find a way out of here!” Ye Qing spoke with urgency, ”Otherwise, you’ll be eaten as a snack by these skeletons!”

”Damn, what does it have to do with me? You unleashed them, why should they eat me?” Fat Wang replied angrily.

Ye Qing pointed towards the six skeletons, ”Talk to them, it’s useless talking to me!”

Fat Wang looked at the six slowly approaching skeletons and finally sighed, ”Damn it, being with you never ends well; all sorts of bizarre things keep happening. Fat Lord’s life is destined to be played by you until my death!”

Despite the grumbling, Fat Wang still propped himself up against the wall and slowly stood up. Earlier, his strength was drained by the long blade, but after consuming half a Ziyu Chenxiang Pill, his strength gradually returned, allowing him to walk shakily.

While Ye Qing held off the skeletons, Fat Wang staggered around the cave, attempting to find another way out. However, the cave seemed like a closed space, other than the entrance they came through, there were no other exits.

”Young Ye, there’s no other way out.” After circling around fruitlessly, Fat Wang admitted defeatedly, ”Unless we return to the entrance, there’s no other path to leave this place!”

”No way?” Ye Qing exclaimed in surprise, ”Weren’t we told this path leads to the ancient tombs of Knife Saint Sect ancestors? We haven’t even seen the tombs, how could there be no way through?”

”How should I know?” Fat Wang glanced at the skeletons before suddenly speaking, ”Do you think, these skeletons could be the Knife Saint Sect ancestors?”

Ye Qing studied the skeletons thoughtfully, ”It’s unlikely, right? If they were the ancestors, how could they be simply buried? Besides, would your ancestors’ bones climb out from coffins to bite people?”

”Then what is this all about?” Fat Wang questioned, ”Fat Lord has ventured into numerous tombs, seen hairy zombies eating people, seen all kinds of Tomb Guardian Beasts. But I’ve never seen a situation like this. There’s no flesh left, just bones, yet they move around biting people?”

At this, Fat Wang paused suddenly, ”Wait, I have seen this before. Dammit, isn’t this exactly what happened at Xiliang Mountain? When moving skeletons chased people to bite them there?”

Ye Qing ignored Fat Wang, aware that the Xiliang Mountain skeletons appeared under its special circumstances. Only when the Immovable Bodhisattva Seal and the red Heavenly Cluster Clouds were together, achieving a delicate balance, did such situations occur.

Undoubtedly, the Knife Saint Sect’s scenario couldn’t be the same. Plus, looking at the resilience of these skeletons, their strength in life couldn’t have been weak, potentially even surpassing the acme level. Because, acme masters’ remains couldn’t endure attacks from the Miao Dao Ancestor Scabbard without the slightest damage.

Contemplating this, Ye Qing’s mind raced, examining the skeletons, could they have been beyond peerless masters in life? If so, then the situation was grave indeed. Why are the remains of six beyond the pinnacle masters hidden in the cave of Knife Saint Sect? Who killed these six beyond-peerless masters?

Ye Qing had long known that the ancient tomb of the Sword Saint Sect surely hid some earth-shattering secret. After all, among the Supreme characters who had entered the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, only the Sword Saint’s coffin wasn’t empty. Therefore, there should be a great secret about the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates hidden within. However, he never expected that he would encounter such a situation here before even finding the Sword Saint’s coffin.

These six skeleton frames certainly weren’t the remains of ancestors from the Sword Saint Sect, because they would never treat their ancestors this way. These six skeleton frames might belong to the enemies of the Sword Saint Sect. However, these are six beyond peerless masters; exactly which person from the Sword Saint Sect managed to kill six beyond peerless masters and also hid their remains in this ancient tomb?

As Ye Qing pondered this question, he glanced at the long sword beside him. When they first entered this cave, the only conspicuous thing was this long sword. Normally, regardless of who enters this cave, unless they know what will happen inside, they will surely be drawn to this long sword and attempt to grab it first.

Actually, the long sword has a powerful suction force that can absorb all of a person’s strength. Ye Qing had experienced it himself, and he was very aware of the force’s intensity. He had no doubt that even a Peak Master who grabbed the long sword would likely have all their strength absorbed in a short time. Hence, this long sword itself is an effective trap. Anyone who seizes it will be completely drained of power, unable to take any further action, let alone release these six skeleton-filled stone coffins.

Ye Qing was an exception; the three forces within his body made it impossible for the sword’s suction to drain his energy. Such a situation was likely unimaginable to the person who designed the trap. It implies that the suction force in the sword alone is sufficient to deal with anyone entering the cave.

But if the suction force of the sword serves this purpose, why are these six skeleton frames left in the cave? Could it be that the designer foresaw someone like Ye Qing entering?

Ye Qing was filled with bewilderment, unable to understand the situation. However, intuition told him that the mechanism within the sword couldn’t be that simple. The sword’s suction force was already adequate to handle anyone who entered. Thus, drawing out the six skeleton frames wasn’t the original intent of the designer, or there might be another reason. Moreover, the sword could well house more than these two mechanisms, possibly more traps.

With this thought, a sudden realization struck Ye Qing. If there really were other mechanisms in the sword, what could they be? He had merely pulled out the sword, leading to the emergence of six stone coffins. But if he pressed the sword into the ground, what would transpire?

Convinced that there were more traps in the sword, Ye Qing didn’t hesitate and immediately carried the sword back to its original spot, forcefully inserting it into the crevice in the ground. The sword stopped half a meter deep, as if it hit the bottom. Yet Ye Qing didn’t pause and continued pressing the sword down.

His intuition was right. As he pressed the sword down, it indeed moved further, penetrating into the ground. This discovery thrilled Ye Qing; it appeared he guessed correctly: there were indeed more mechanisms below.

Without any pause, Ye Qing continued to force the sword downward. With a few strokes, the entirety of the two-meter-long blade was buried, leaving only half a meter of the hilt exposed.

Just then, the ground beneath Ye Qing’s feet began to tremble slightly as if an earthquake was happening. Alarmed, Ye Qing quickly retreated a few steps to avoid the unstable area.

”Wow, what did you do?” Fat Wang asked in shock from behind, seeing the ground shaking, even more astonished than Ye Qing.

Ye Qing ignored him, focusing intently on the shaking ground. He realized that he must have triggered some mechanism, yet didn’t know what it was. All he could do was wait patiently.

The shaking didn’t last long before a crack opened in the ground, extending quickly about twenty meters. Then, the trembling ground slowly began to separate, revealing a massive pit in the center, over ten meters across.

Upon seeing the pit, Fat Wang’s eyes widened in disbelief. Such a mechanism was beyond his expectations. Turning to Ye Qing, he asked in shock, ”What...what is this?”

Ye Qing stepped forward to inspect the pit, frowning as he quietly said, ”Below might be the burial chamber of the Sword Saint Sect’s ancestors!”

”Really?” Fat Wang rushed over, examining it closely. The pit wasn’t particularly deep, around two or three meters. Below lay a spacious burial chamber, with a coffin positioned in the middle. Currently, the coffin was pierced by a long sword—precisely the sword Ye Qing had just pressed down. In other words, the sword had directly stabbed into the coffin!

”Isn’t there just a single coffin here? How could this be the burial place of the Sword Saint Sect’s ancestors?” Fat Wang asked in bewilderment.
