Urban Martial Saint

The old woman was visibly angry and embarrassed when she heard the woman speak like that, and pointed at her loudly, ”Why are you bringing up these past events? Can’t anyone make mistakes? Duo’er was young and naive then, why are you holding it against her? If children don’t make mistakes, would they still be children?”

”Children can make mistakes, but can she keep making mistakes her whole life?” the woman said coldly. ”Don’t think I don’t know. Your Duo’er has changed boyfriends many times from the age of eighteen until now, over seven years. I don’t know if the count is accurate, but reportedly, if it’s not one hundred, it’s ninety-eight at least. Shenchuan City is only so big, her antics have spread everywhere. Do you think everyone is blind and deaf?”

The old woman shouted angrily, ”You... you’re just listening to idle gossip, do you know what a rumor is?”

”Humph, rumor?” the woman said coldly. ”Earlier this year, I saw her hanging out with several foreign men, hugging and kissing, and doing all sorts of things. Are these rumors too? Using Tian You’s death as the timeline, when he had his accident, she was busy having fun with the foreigners. Tell me, whose child is in her belly?”

Everyone turned to look at the old woman, their eyes clearly displeased. The old woman protested fiercely, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about. My Duo’er is very well-behaved, she’s nothing like what you describe. Don’t waste your breath on me, let’s talk based on facts. As for Duo’er’s pregnancy, the child is Lin Tianyou’s. How are we going to solve this matter, what do you suggest?”

”Humph, you say it’s Tian You’s, and it’s Tian You’s just like that?” the woman said coldly. ”Why should we believe you!”

”Of course, in matters like this, it’s not just down to me saying so,” the old woman promptly responded. ”Technology is so advanced now, we can do a paternity test and find out directly who the father is!”

The woman immediately retorted angrily, ”Ridiculous, the child hasn’t even been born yet, how can a paternity test be done!”

The old woman laughed coldly, saying, ”You do know that there are types of paternity tests that can be done even before the child is born, right?”

Seeing the old woman’s confident expression, the woman was clearly surprised. The old woman kept insisting on a paternity test so confidently, what’s going on? Could it be that she’s truly sure the child is Lin Tianyou’s? How... how is that possible?

”Hey, did you actually have anything go on with that Duo’er?” Ye Qing quietly asked Lin Tianyou. ”Why are they insisting the child is yours and are willing to have a paternity test?”

”I... I haven’t seen that Duo’er afterwards...” Lin Tianyou replied helplessly. ”I really don’t know what’s going on!”

”You really don’t know?” Huangfu Ziyu asked Lin Tianyou. ”They’ve pinned it on you!”

”Could there be an issue with the paternity test?” Ye Qing spoke quietly.

”The paternity test itself shouldn’t have any problems...” Lin Tianyou replied. ”Nowadays, there are tests that can be done without the child being born with great accuracy.”

”Could they bribe the doctor?” Huangfu Ziyu laughed at her own comments. With the Lin family’s wealth and status in Shenchuan City, who would dare tamper with anything?

”If a paternity test is to be done, my uncle will certainly supervise it. He will definitely not rely on just one test, but employ multiple tests for verification.” Lin Tianyou spoke quietly, ”Therefore, the paternity test should not have any issues!”

”Considering what you said, with them being so sure, your situation might be problematic!” Huangfu Ziyu commented. ”Could it be you got drunk one day and accidentally made a mistake?”

”Impossible!” Lin Tianyou shook his head firmly, though his brow furrowed tightly.

Huangfu Ziyu questioned, ”If you say it’s impossible, then why do you seem worried?”

Lin Tianyou took a deep breath and paused for a moment before speaking quietly, ”Because there’s another possibility!”

”What other possibility?” Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu looked at Lin Tianyou simultaneously.

”It’s artificial insemination...” Lin Tianyou glanced at the two, speaking quietly. ”While doing research, I donated sperm. If they used artificial insemination, then... then the child might really... really be mine...”

Lin Tianyou spoke somewhat cryptically, but Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu understood. Lin Tianyou had once donated sperm, and if Duo’er conceived through artificial insemination using his donation, then the child would truly be his. In such a situation, even if Lin Tianyou had no relationship with Duo’er, the child would indeed be his, making it awkward indeed.

”If they really did that, it would be too shameless!” Ye Qing quietly commented. ”This family is plotting something, what are they after?”

Lin Tianyou sighed quietly, ”It should be my family’s wealth. After all, my family is quite wealthy, and I’m the only child. If something happens to me, if there’s a grandson, my family’s wealth would naturally go to him. While my family’s riches aren’t as vast as my uncle’s, there’s still tens of billions at stake. What wouldn’t they do for that kind of money?”

Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu exchanged glances, acknowledging the possibility. If it’s true, this matter would indeed be tricky.

Ye Qing asked quietly, ”If the child is really yours, what would that mean for you?”

”That’s exactly what I’m worried about...” Lin Tianyou replied, seemingly helpless. ”If the child is truly mine, there’s... there’s really no way to handle it...”

Meanwhile, the old woman was still insisting on a paternity test, while Lin Zhen Nan and others seemed stunned by her words. How could she be so sure the child is Lin Tianyou’s?

”A paternity test will definitely be conducted!” Lin Zhen Nan was quiet for a moment and then said. ”However, since things are not yet certain, Seventh Aunt, could you return for now? Once things are sorted, we can discuss it further.”

”No way!” the old woman shook her head firmly. ”This child is definitely Lin Tianyou’s. Since it’s Lin Tianyou’s child, their family has to be responsible for it. From now on, Duo’er and I will be living here!”

”No way!” Lin Yongchuan spoke urgently.

”Why not?” the old woman immediately shouted angrily. ”Don’t forget, my Duo’er is pregnant with your Lin Tianyou’s child. Do you not want to take responsibility for this?”

”Things aren’t confirmed, how could you... you live here?” Lin Yongchuan said urgently.

”Humph, you speak of it easily!” the old woman replied angrily, ”You say things aren’t confirmed, so my Duo’er can’t live here. Tell me, what about that little tramp Chen, what’s her relationship with Lin Tianyou, and on what grounds is she allowed to live here? Not only does she live here, but her whole family does too. Her parents, siblings, and even her grandmother live here. What sense does this make?”

On this side, Ye Qing and the others frowned deeply, knowing that the person the old woman referred to as Chen was Chen Keai.

”This... this is different...” Lin Yongchuan said urgently, ”Cutie is Tianyou’s fiancée, recognized by us all. Though they haven’t married yet, we acknowledge her as part of the Lin family. Her family, being close to us, naturally stays here. Besides, after Cutie faced such an incident and is still unconscious, her family is here to care for her. What’s wrong with that?”

”What happened to Cutie?” Lin Tianyou was taken aback, clearly confused by the sudden comment.

Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu were also surprised, unaware of the situation. Wasn’t Chen Keai a nurse at Lin Tianyou’s hospital? What could have happened to her?

”What nonsense! Humph, she fooled around with some men, had too much fun, and fell from the building, hurting herself. Is that considered an issue?” the old woman shouted angrily, ”Your Lin family accepts people like that tramp Chen. My Duo’er’s minor errors, are those really an issue?”

”What happened?” Lin Tianyou asked in disbelief, Ye Qing looked at him, saying quietly, ”Cutie isn’t like that; there must be some misunderstandings!”

Lin Tianyou nodded, fully trusting Chen Keai, yet he couldn’t understand what had happened.

At this moment, a door upstairs swung open, and an elderly-looking woman dashed downstairs, pointing at the old woman, immediately cursing angrily, ”How dare you speak like that? What did my Cutie ever do to you? How can you say such things behind her back? My Cutie was framed, drugged. If she hadn’t jumped from the fifth floor, she might have lost her chastity. My Cutie would never be like your tramp. My Cutie is pure and can’t be compared to her, what gives you the right to speak like this about her?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing and the others suddenly understood; this was what had happened.

Lin Tianyou took a deep breath, and Ye Qing could see that his usually gentle face now reflected anger. Chen Keai was Lin Tianyou’s chosen wife; hearing of this occurrence naturally infuriated him.

The old woman was stunned by the scolding from Chen Keai’s mother, but soon recovered, pointing angrily at her, ”Who do you think you are, daring to speak like this to me? A shabby peasant, do you know where you are? When we’re talking, you think you can interrupt?”

”Who do you think you are to insult my Cutie?” Chen Keai’s mother retaliated angrily.

”You...” the old woman was so infuriated she trembled, suddenly stepping back, shouting, ”Throw her out!”
