Upon hearing what the Tomb Guarding Elder said, Huangfu Ziyu was infuriated. She pointed at the Tomb Guarding Elder and said in a deep voice, ”Why don’t you sacrifice yourself here? Why let Ye Zi sacrifice himself!”

The Tomb Guarding Elder glanced at Huangfu Ziyu and said in a stern voice, ”I’m giving him face by allowing him to commit suicide. If he is unwilling to do so, then we have no choice but to kill him!”

”Who do you want to kill?” Huangfu Ziyu shouted angrily, her eyes growing colder, ready to confront the Tomb Guarding Elder.

The people nearby also turned their attention here; the Tomb Guarding Elder’s words displeased them. With so many people here, he still shouted about killing Ye Qing—he was being too arrogant.

Seeing everyone present, the Tomb Guarding Elder frowned. He was no fool, as any person here had greater strength than him, making a fight impossible. He took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, ”I know you all have strength in numbers. Indeed, we are incapable of killing Ye Qing here. But...”

The Tomb Guarding Elder turned suddenly to Yelu Ying and the others, saying in a deep voice, ”I’ve said it, if we cannot kill Ye Qing, then we must kill all the Yelu Family members, to bury this secret completely. Ye Qing, you’re impressive; we won’t kill you, but we will kill the Yelu Family members, is this to your liking?”

Huangfu Ziyu and the others were left stunned by the Tomb Guarding Elder’s words, unable to comprehend the logic. Unable to kill Ye Qing, they would kill the Yelu Family members—what kind of logic was this?

Aside from the Yelu Family members, only Ye Qing and Old Wang Ba understood the Tomb Guarding Elder’s meaning. The Yelu Family tomb required the blood of a Yelu Family descendant to open. After sharing this secret with Ye Qing, Ye Qing could either become a Yelu Family member, open the tomb, and obtain what’s inside, ensuring it stays within the Yelu Family. Or, they could kill Ye Qing to prevent spreading the secret. If they couldn’t kill Ye Qing, the third option was to seal the tomb entirely.

The only way to seal the tomb permanently was to thoroughly cut off the Yelu Family’s bloodline. In other words, killing the remaining Yelu Family members would mean the tomb could never be opened again. In this manner, the Yelu family’s treasure would be preserved without outside interference.

In retrospect, the person who established this rule was certainly extremely stubborn and perhaps self-centered. To safeguard the treasure from outsiders, they could even allow the Yelu Family to perish entirely. Ironically, these two Tomb Guarding Elders were equally tenacious and would absolutely carry out the ancestral instructions left behind. Hence, if the issue with Ye Qing couldn’t be resolved, they could only resolve it by eliminating the Yelu Family members!

The Tomb Guarding Elder ignored everyone’s confusion, pointing at a Yelu Family member, and said in a deep voice, ”You disgraceful descendants, unable to uphold the ancestral treasures, how do you have the face to live in this world? Confess with your death!”

”Old man, aren’t you being a bit too excessive!” Huangfu Ziyu couldn’t help but retort angrily, ”Everyone has their fate, what right do you have to decide the life or death of others?”

The Tomb Guarding Elder angrily replied, ”This is a Yelu Family affair, it’s not up to outsiders to scrutinize!”

”Humph, what if I insist on intervening!” Huangfu Ziyu also retorted sternly.

”Then you must kill me first!” The Tomb Guarding Elder replied arrogantly, though stubborn, he was also extremely brave. Despite knowing he couldn’t compete with those on Ye Qing’s side, he had never shown an ounce of fear.

Huangfu Ziyu bit her lip; though dissatisfied with the Tomb Guarding Elder, she couldn’t truly kill him. She turned to the Yelu Family members, and said, ”Don’t bother with this stubborn old man!”

The Yelu Family members looked at Huangfu Ziyu and then at the Tomb Guarding Elder, helplessly smiling. Huangfu Ziyu’s words were simple, yet they couldn’t possibly ignore the Tomb Guarding Elder. His command was the highest family order, one they couldn’t disobey.

”What are you waiting for?” The Tomb Guarding Elder angrily glared at the leading person and said, ”Are you waiting for me to act on your behalf?”

”Elder Yelu, why do you need to be so stubborn?” Ye Qing said helplessly, ”Can’t we discuss this matter? Why force each other like this?”

”No more discussions!” The Tomb Guarding Elder said sternly, ”Ye, you’ve obtained our Yelu Family secrets and are unwilling to become one of us, leaving only two outcomes. Either you die, or we die. If you truly are as merciful as the rumors say, then fine, you die here, and I’ll spare the Yelu Family members!”

”You...” Ye Qing was left speechless, the Tomb Guarding Elder wouldn’t budge an inch.

”If you are unwilling to die, it means we will!” The Tomb Guarding Elder shouted coldly, ”Yelu Family members have never feared death. Even if it means the end of the lineage, the Yelu Family members are without regrets!”

With that, the Tomb Guarding Elder glared again at the leading person, ”Are you waiting for me to act?”

The person sighed, slowly raised his hand, seemingly ready to sacrifice himself.

Ye Qing quickly signaled to Ding Lianshun and the others nearby, indicating for them to prepare for rescue. Ye Qing certainly wouldn’t watch these people die here.

”Old fool, why are you so stubborn?” Huangfu Ziyu shouted loudly.

”Humph, if we can’t kill you, can’t we at least commit suicide?” The Tomb Guarding Elder shouted: ”I know you are powerful and imposing. But our Yelu Family is not for you to bully at will. Even if we’re not as strong as you, we at least have dignity!”

Everyone was extremely speechless towards the Tomb Guarding Elder. How do these matters relate to your dignity? And besides, who bullied your Yelu Family? Ye Qing explained it so clearly just now, but these two Tomb Guarding Elders seem a bit unclear-minded, don’t they?

Seeing that person’s hand still raised, not lowered, the Tomb Guarding Elder became utterly furious, shouting: ”What? Are you afraid to die now too? When did the Yelu Family’s people become this cowardly? Are you worthy of the ancestors of the Yelu Family?”

The person was also extremely embarrassed after being scolded like that by the Tomb Guarding Elder. Gritting his teeth, he suddenly struck his own forehead with his palm, seemingly really ready to commit suicide here!

Fortunately, Ding Lianshun was already on guard beside him. Seeing him act, Ding Lianshun immediately rushed over, directly grabbing this person’s hand, preventing a tragedy from occurring.

But this move completely enraged the two Tomb Guarding Elders, one of whom shouted angrily: ”What do you want to do? What? We don’t kill you, but can’t we even commit suicide? Ye, isn’t this too much bullying?”

”Stubborn old fool, if you want to die, then die yourself. Why drag the young ones along?” Yin Xianzi couldn’t help but shout angrily.

”This is a matter of the Yelu Family, it has nothing to do with anyone else!” The Tomb Guarding Elder shouted: ”Don’t think that just because you’re powerful, you can meddle in others’ family affairs. Today, either you kill us all, or we all commit suicide here. We absolutely won’t disgrace our ancestors!”

Everyone was extremely speechless, not knowing how to communicate with people like these, as this totally wasn’t normal thinking.

The other Tomb Guarding Elder was even more straightforward, directly pulling out a dagger and pointing it at his own neck, shouting angrily at Ding Lianshun: ”Release our Yelu Family member, or I’ll die here in front of you!”

”Damn!” Ding Lianshun couldn’t help but curse, pointing at the Tomb Guarding Elder: ”If you want to die, then hurry up and die, why spout this bullshit? You think I care about your damn life? If you, a stubborn relic, die here, I’ll immediately go out and buy firecrackers to celebrate!”

Ding Lianshun was never one to be polite, and this time he spoke even more bluntly without giving any face to the Tomb Guarding Elder, making the Tomb Guarding Elder so angry that smoke came out of his seven orifices. He couldn’t believe that after threatening with death, Ding Lianshun was completely indifferent.

The Tomb Guarding Elder was extremely angry, gritting his teeth fiercely, and shouted: ”Fine, then I’ll die here in front of you!”

Saying this, the Tomb Guarding Elder directly stabbed the dagger towards his own neck. This old guy was truly ruthless and merciless even against himself; one has to say, such stubborn people are quite terrifying.

Seeing this situation, Ye Qing hurriedly said: ”Elder Yelu, please don’t!”

”Elder, wait!” Yelu Ying also shouted anxiously.

However, the Tomb Guarding Elder completely ignored them, continuing his movements as if he was truly prepared to die here.

Just at this critical moment, a figure suddenly rushed over, kicking the Tomb Guarding Elder in the chest, directly sending him flying. Of course, the dagger was also knocked aside, thus saving his life.

The one who acted was none other than Yin Xianzi. She had no fondness for the Tomb Guarding Elder, so she didn’t hold back her kick, leaving him sprawled and unable to get up.

”How dare you harm our Yelu Family member!” The other Tomb Guarding Elder angrily pointed at Yin Xianzi, about to shout angrily, when Yelu Ying hurriedly walked over and said: ”Elder, listen to me for a moment, can you?”

”What is there left to say?” The Tomb Guarding Elder shouted angrily: ”If you still regard yourself as part of the Yelu Family, then lead the way and commit suicide here, guarding the Yelu Family’s secrets!”

Yelu Ying said: ”If I can’t guard the Yelu Family’s secrets, then I would surely commit suicide here. But now I can guard the Yelu Family’s secrets, so why should we commit suicide?”
