Urban Martial Saint

Lin Tianyou came out and said just this one sentence, which was enough to explain everything. He hadn’t seen Duo’er for two years, so the child in Duo’er’s belly couldn’t possibly be his.

”I told you so!” The woman who had been speaking up for Lin Tianyou immediately said, ”My Tianyou is not that kind of person. How could something like this happen? Seventh Aunt, your Duo’er, who knows whose bastard she’s pregnant with this time? Are you trying to scam us for money?”

”Good, good, as long as it’s not!” Lin Yongchuan nodded repeatedly. He had actually been worried that the child was Lin Tianyou’s. Now that he heard it’s not Tianyou’s child, he felt relieved. It’s best not to be involved in this child’s matter at all.

Chen Keai’s mother also breathed a sigh of relief; she was the most worried one. If the child was really Lin Tianyou’s, she would have to reevaluate Chen Keai’s marriage to Lin Tianyou. Now hearing Lin Tianyou say this, she was even more satisfied with him.

Seeing the attitude of the people around, the old lady Seventh Aunt immediately acted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumping up directly: ”Not yours? Not yours? Lin Tianyou, do you dare to swear again? If it is yours, your entire family will perish on the streets, how about that?”

Hearing the old lady speak like this, everyone in the room frowned. Who talks like this? How could the old lady act like a shrew? Where’s her decency?

Lin Zhen Nan also had some resentment, glanced at the old lady, and said, ”Seventh Aunt, Tianyou wouldn’t lie. He says he hasn’t seen Duo’er, so he really hasn’t. We should make sure whose child it is before jumping to conclusions. Besides, we’re all family; why speak so harshly?”

”Lin Zhen Nan, stop with the nonsense!” The old lady seemed to be hysterical, cursing whoever was close: ”Don’t talk to me about family. Do you consider us family when things are good for you? Huh, you say Lin Tianyou wouldn’t lie, so you’re saying our Duo’er is lying? You’re saying I’m lying?”

”Lao Qi, if your family isn’t doing well, it’s because you squandered your wealth; how can you blame others?” Old Lady Lin couldn’t help but say, ”You got the most at the time of the family division, but what have you done with it over the years? You’ve lived off your capital and ended up like this; who’s to blame? We earned what we have today, and does it have anything to do with whether we consider you family?”

”Don’t give me that nonsense; let’s not talk about anything else now. Let’s just talk about how this child’s matter will be handled!” The old lady glared at Lin Tianyou and said, ”Lin Tianyou, I’ll ask you one more time. Do you dare to swear on it?”

Lin Tianyou frowned tightly. Although he could be sure he hadn’t seen Duo’er, who knew if the child was his? The old lady’s confidence made him really suspect that these people might have done something behind the scenes regarding this matter. So, if they really needed to do a paternity test, he wasn’t completely sure.

”Seventh Aunt, I’ll say it again. I really haven’t seen Duo’er in two years. I can be sure of this!” Lin Tianyou replied, but he didn’t mention the child’s matter because he couldn’t be sure about that.

”Fine!” The old lady gritted her teeth and said, ”Since you refuse to admit it, let’s let the facts speak. Fortunately, I’ve already invited a doctor over; let’s do a paternity test here. Once the results come out, let’s see what else you have to say!”

Lin Tianyou felt somewhat awkward. If the child really was his, and the paternity test was done, it would be troublesome. So he didn’t know what to say for a moment.

At this time, Huangfu Ziyu, who had been standing by the side, suddenly said, ”Alright, then hurry and get the doctor. Let’s do a paternity test right here!”

”Zi Yu!” Ye Qing quickly tugged at Huangfu Ziyu. This was a family matter, and it wasn’t right for her to speak out of turn. Besides, if what Lin Tianyou said was true, it would be troublesome.

Huangfu Ziyu winked at Ye Qing, signaling, ”Don’t worry. Look at that Duo’er. Every time the old shrew says to do a paternity test, her expression changes. I bet she’s guilty!”

Ye Qing hadn’t noticed Duo’er, but after hearing what Huangfu Ziyu said, she quietly looked at Duo’er twice. Indeed, just as Huangfu Ziyu said, Duo’er’s expression was very uneasy, seeming genuinely guilty.

After all, Huangfu Ziyu was an old hand in the Jianghu; she could read people’s minds by looking at their expressions. Duo’er wasn’t a match for Huangfu Ziyu; her expressions couldn’t escape Ziyu’s keen eyes.

The old lady both hated and feared Huangfu Ziyu, and after hearing her words, she completely ignored Ziyu, waving her hand: ”Fine, fine, that’s settled. Duo’er, go get the doctor in. We’ll do the paternity test right here!”

”A paternity test, done here?” Lin Zhen Nan frowned and said.

”What we’ll do here is just a preliminary test, but the accuracy can reach ninety percent,” the old lady said. ”If you don’t believe the results here, you can continue with a deeper test. Anyway, I want to make sure you all are convinced!”

Lin Zhen Nan looked at Lin Tianyou. He didn’t understand these things, but Lin Tianyou should be more knowledgeable, right?

Lin Tianyou slowly nodded. He was indeed more familiar with these things.

Huangfu Ziyu said, ”Then hurry up and call them in, don’t waste any more time!”

”Humph!” The old lady snorted coldly, looked at Duo’er who was still standing beside her without taking action, and said, ”Duo’er, why are you still standing there? Hurry up and get the doctor in!”

”Grandma...” Duo’er lowered her head, grabbed the old lady’s arm, and said softly, ”Why don’t... why don’t we go back?”

”Go back for what?” The old lady glared and said, ”This matter must be resolved today, we can’t let them off this time. Humph, Lin Tianyou bullied you and still thinks he can shirk responsibility, how can that work? Although our family has fallen on hard times, we can’t be humiliated by others!”

”But, I... I...” Duo’er lowered her head, hesitated a few times, but couldn’t utter a word.

”You don’t need to be afraid, whatever happens, I’m here for you!” The old lady cast a sharp glance at Lin Zhen Nan and the others, and said, ”Humph, unless they kill both of us here today to silence us completely. Otherwise, I will definitely demand an explanation from them!”

”I...” Duo’er was even more embarrassed and still unwilling to go out.

”What do you mean ’I’, why are you procrastinating like this!” The old lady suddenly got angry and said, ”Fine, stop talking, I will go out and call them myself!”

As she spoke, the old lady was about to turn around and leave, but Duo’er quickly grabbed her, urgently saying, ”Grandma, no… don’t call them…”

”What’s the matter with you?” The old lady asked anxiously, ”Why don’t you want to call them?”

”Don’t you get it by now?” Huangfu Ziyu said leisurely, ”The child in her belly is not Lin Tianyou’s at all; calling the doctor would only make her lose face in public.”

These words caused shock throughout the room; everyone looked at Duo’er in disbelief. The old lady’s eyes widened, she looked at Huangfu Ziyu and then at Duo’er, clearly not having recovered, and muttered, ”She... what did she say? Duo’er, this... isn’t... isn’t true, is it?”

Duo’er blushed, standing awkwardly, not knowing whether to nod or shake her head, choosing instead to remain silent without any response.

Seeing Duo’er like this, the old lady panicked, ”Duo’er, why aren’t you talking? At least answer me, what’s going on? Is the child Lin Tianyou’s or not?”

Duo’er remained silent, while Huangfu Ziyu chuckled and said, ”Old hag, no need to ask, haven’t you figured it out yet? She’s been reluctant to do the paternity test because she’s afraid of it. If she’s unwilling to answer, then you can go out and call the doctors to conduct a proper test to see if the child is Lin Tianyou’s!”

The old lady, disregarding Huangfu Ziyu calling her names, was filled with anger and urgency, saying, ”Duo’er, say something!”

Duo’er lowered her head even further, while Huangfu Ziyu smiled and said, ”Forget it, you better stop asking her and just go out and call the doctors in. If you don’t want to go out, I can do it instead!”

As Huangfu Ziyu spoke, she was about to head out, Duo’er was startled and hurriedly said, ”No!”

”If you don’t want the doctors to come in, then be honest!” Huangfu Ziyu walked to the door and said, ”If you don’t say anything, I will have to go out and call them in!”

Duo’er looked at Huangfu Ziyu, then at the old lady, her face extremely embarrassed. She opened her mouth but couldn’t say a word.

”It seems you don’t want to say anything, fine, let the facts speak then!” Huangfu Ziyu said as she was about to go out, Duo’er was startled again and hurriedly said, ”I’ll say it, I’ll say it, the child is not Lin Tianyou’s!”

This statement caused an uproar inside the room, and Lin Tianyou also breathed a sigh of relief. The worst-case scenario didn’t happen after all!

”The child is not Lin Tianyou’s?” The old lady’s eyes widened in disbelief, looking at Duo’er urgently, ”How could it not be Lin Tianyou’s? How is that possible? Duo’er, are you... are you out of your mind? The child is Lin Tianyou’s, how can you say it’s not his?”
