Urban Martial Saint

The people from the Church were originally tracking the Japanese ninjas, hiding below to watch them open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. However, after Ye Qing called out to them, Fu Qingping drew the Qingping Sword and scared them away.

These people had originally run down the mountain, and with Fu Qingping here, they probably wouldn’t dare to cause trouble again. But why did they come back up in such a short time? And judging by their panicked expressions, it seemed like they had encountered something dangerous. Most crucially, even when they saw Fu Qingping, they didn’t try to avoid him, but instead sprinted towards the platform as if some wild beast were chasing them.

Of course, let’s not talk about whether there are wild beasts on this mountain; even if there were, with the Church members’ skills, how could they fear those beasts? Furthermore, while Ye Qing wasn’t aware of everyone else’s strength, he was very familiar with the Great Lord’s. Considering the speed at which the others were running was nearly on par with the Great Lord’s, it meant that these people were all Peak Masters, and their prowess wasn’t weak.

Seeing so many highly skilled Peak Masters rushing up in such panic, not even avoiding Fu Qingping, it was clear that whoever was chasing them from behind must be terribly formidable.

Ye Qing furrowed his brows, took a deep breath, looked at Fu Qingping, and whispered, ”The one coming must be a master!”

”Not just a master, but one who surpasses the acme!” Fu Qingping’s face turned extremely cold, and he stared intently behind the Church members. Although the person chasing them hadn’t appeared yet, Fu Qingping could already sense his presence.

In this brief moment, the experts from the Church had already rushed near the platform. Looking at Fu Qingping, who was blocking the way ahead, the Church members were at a loss. Especially the leading Great Lord, who stood with the Church members, unsure whether to advance or retreat. Ahead was the formidable Fu Qingping, someone they couldn’t surpass. However, the danger level of the person behind wasn’t any less than Fu Qingping!

”Master beyond the acme!?” Ye Qing’s face turned pale. A master beyond the acme was someone even Fu Qingping couldn’t defeat. Who could this character appearing now be?

Taoist Wuji, Buddhist Shakya; Fu Qingping wouldn’t react this way to their auras. As for the Corpse Ghost Dragon, it had been dealt such crippling blows that, even though Ye Qing suspected it might not be dead, it hadn’t been seen for so long. Could it even appear here? If it’s not the Corpse Ghost Dragon, then only one person is left: The Immortal Lord from Mount Duwang!

Could the one coming below be The Immortal Lord!?

Ye Qing furrowed his brows even tighter. If it really was The Immortal Lord, tonight’s situation would become troublesome. Fu Qingping had not yet reached a state beyond the acme, and if he were to fight The Immortal Lord, it would be almost certain defeat for Fu Qingping!

Ye Qing glanced at the cave behind. Hattori Ichiryu and others had just gone in not long ago and likely hadn’t obtained anything. Now The Immortal Lord was here, and it’s no longer just about whether Fu Qingping can defeat The Immortal Lord. The key point is if The Immortal Lord enters the cave, Hattori Ichiryu and the others would definitely die. In that case, wouldn’t Huangfu Ziyu also be doomed?

At this moment, a long shout came from the distant forests: ”Fu Qingping, you little brat, didn’t expect to see you here today!”

With this voice, a man engulfed in black aura suddenly leaped from the forest, and with several swift movements, he stood atop the Stone Platform. Ye Qing saw clearly that it was indeed the Immortal Lord, who had escaped from the Gate of the Dead!

He hadn’t been seen for some time, and The Immortal Lord seemed even more powerful. His once shriveled skin had recovered quite a bit. His age appeared to have decreased—looking like a man in his fifties. Judging by appearance alone, he seemed much younger than Fu Qingping. However, Ye Qing knew The Immortal Lord’s actual age was at least a hundred years older than Fu Qingping!

Seeing The Immortal Lord, the Church members shivered with fear and quickly retreated, not daring to block The Immortal Lord’s path. Naturally, they dared not approach Fu Qingping either, since his strength was also beyond what they could handle!

The two ninjas’ faces changed dramatically as they saw the situation. Even though they didn’t know The Immortal Lord’s identity, his aura alone rendered them speechless with terror.

Fu Qingping, with a cold eye on The Immortal Lord, said in a deep voice, ”So it’s Undying Senior who’s come. No wonder the stone platforms above seemed odd earlier—I thought my old eyes were deceiving me!”

Earlier, Fu Qingping observed the stone platforms above and noticed some traces. But after looking closely, he didn’t feel anything amiss, so he let it go. In hindsight, it was actually The Immortal Lord who had come!

With a cold sneer, The Immortal Lord hadn’t first gone to the summit; it was the Corpse Ghost Dragon that was up there. The Wanyan Family had long arrived at Chatiang Peak and hid the Blood Coffin in the caves behind the stones where the Corpse Ghost Dragon was hidden. With Fu Qingping’s strength, discovering the Corpse Ghost Dragon was impossible.

The Immortal Lord didn’t reveal this truth. He cast a cold glance at Fu Qingping, saying, ”It’s been several days, yet your strength has increased quite a bit. It seems I won’t be lonely this time!”

”Wasn’t it agreed to have the decisive battle at the summit of Mount Tai next month on the fifteenth? Is The Immortal Lord planning to break your word?” Ye Qing shouted.

”Next month on the fifteenth?” The Immortal Lord sneered coldly, ”Next month on the fifteenth is my decisive battle with Shijia at the summit of Mount Tai, not with this junior Fu Qingping. What’s wrong if I duel him now?”

”But Master Shijia has requested Senior Fu to fight on his behalf!” Ye Qing replied.

”Hmph, does Shijia consider me, The Immortal Lord, as someone he can casually send a random cat or dog to fight against?” The Immortal Lord snorted coldly and pointed at Fu Qingping, ”Fu Qingping, you haven’t surpassed the acme and aren’t qualified to replace Shijia. However, this is just right. Last time at the Gate of the Dead, you and I fought once, and your sword moves were somewhat interesting. It’s just that I hadn’t recovered my strength before; this time, I’ve regained five-tenths of my power. We can have another match. I want to see how powerful your Qingping Sword is!”

Fu Qingping’s brows furrowed tightly. He slowly raised the Qingping Sword in his hand and said, ”Since Undying Senior wants to fight, I will accompany you with all my strength. I hope I won’t disappoint you!”

”Hahaha...” The Immortal Lord laughed aloud, ”I like what you’ve said, but remember this! If you disappoint me, you will die here this time; do you understand?”

”Master!” Ye Qing hurried over, quietly pulling Fu Qingping aside and whispering, ”You’re still not a match for The Immortal Lord; there’s no need to fight him outright. The Tomb of Ghost Valley Master is filled with eerie energy—there must be something extraordinary inside. Why not lure The Immortal Lord into the Tomb and let the thing inside deal with him?”

Fu Qingping pondered slightly, without responding to Ye Qing’s suggestion. He instead drew out the Qingping Sword and pointed it at The Immortal Lord, saying, ”The Immortal Lord, let’s duel today. No matter the outcome, I hope you can spare Ye Qing and this young lady, is that alright?”

Ye Qing paused for a moment; Fu Qingping’s words clearly signaled that he intended to fight to the death with The Immortal Lord. This suggested that Fu Qingping refused to flee into the cave. Fu Qingping indeed had a stubborn temperament, but why be so inflexible in such a situation? Does dealing with someone like The Immortal Lord require moral arguments?

”Hmph!” The Immortal Lord snorted disdainfully, casting a side glance at Fu Qingping, ”You are in no position to negotiate with me because you are simply not my match. Tonight, you are destined to die here!”

As The Immortal Lord spoke, he shot towards Fu Qingping, his movement as ghostly as ever, and swung his hand to grab at Fu Qingping.

The speed of The Immortal Lord was terrifyingly fast. Ye Qing barely saw him move before he was already in front of Fu Qingping. In truth, everyone else around was still frozen, not realizing The Immortal Lord could be so swift.

Fortunately, Fu Qingping’s prowess was also formidable. As The Immortal Lord attacked, he promptly lifted the Qingping Sword, with a flick of his wrist, forming a perfect circle in the air with it, enclosing The Immortal Lord within.

”Great!” The Immortal Lord exclaimed lightly. The crowd only heard the sound of clashing metal. The Immortal Lord retreated in an instant, while Fu Qingping’s feet left two deep imprints on the Stone Platform, pressed firmly into the stone.

The expression on everyone’s face changed, oblivious to what had just transpired. Only Fu Qingping knew that when he had drawn a circle with the longsword towards The Immortal Lord, it wasn’t the sword’s speed that created the circle. Rather, the Qingping Sword disassembled into dozens of smaller swords, forming a circle surrounding The Immortal Lord. In such a circle, surrounded by small swords, there was no gap, no way to break out.

Yet The Immortal Lord’s power was truly terrifying. Even in these circumstances, he used both hands to swiftly deflect all of Fu Qingping’s small swords, maneuvering out of the circle. Of course, the force from those small swords prevented him from advancing, so he retreated directly. However, some of the force he applied to the small swords was transferred back to Fu Qingping, embedding Ye Qing’s feet into the Stone Tablet.
