Urban Martial Saint

Nalan Jingwei, the Great Lord, and Executioner Scholar raced over two mountain summits. Eventually, Executioner Scholar was caught up by the Great Lord. After all, the Great Lord is known for his speed, especially since he was carrying someone with each hand. Managing to cross over two mountain summits was a result of his previous use of a forbidden move which left aftereffects. Had he not used that forbidden move, he might have been caught by the Great Lord before even crossing the first summit.

Of course, because the Great Lord used the forbidden move, his speed was somewhat slower, allowing them to cross two summits. Because they crossed over those summits, the two people from the Sword Saint Sect did not see Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar, thus mistakenly thought it was the Great Lord who killed the Sword Saint Sect members, leading to the misunderstanding.

Being caught by the Great Lord, Executioner Scholar had already made it into a dense forest. With the Great Lord attacking him, Executioner Scholar hurriedly shifted sideways to avoid the Great Lord’s attack. Meanwhile, Nalan Jingwei was also chasing from behind, arriving just in time.

Seeing Nalan Jingwei arrive, Executioner Scholar let out a sigh of relief. Alone, he was certainly not a match for the Great Lord, but with the two of them together, the situation was different.

”Great Lord, you’re quite bold to chase just us two alone!” Executioner Scholar looked at the Great Lord and said in a deep voice, ”Do you really think you can snatch the artifact from us two?”

The Great Lord couldn’t understand Huaxia language, so naturally, he had no idea what Executioner Scholar was saying. However, seeing Executioner Scholar and Nalan Jingwei standing together, he knew the situation was unfavorable; dealing with these two teaming up was beyond his capability.

Nevertheless, he was reluctant to leave. After all, the Gold Silk Armor he was after was the key to ensuring his return to the Church alive. He had already told the Church that he obtained the Gold Silk Armor, and the Church was quite excited. If he lost the Gold Silk Armor now, he wouldn’t need to return to the Church at all. Therefore, the Great Lord gave chase all the way, solely to retrieve the item that would protect his life!

”Return the Gold Silk Armor to me, you can take the two people with you, and our grudges will be settled once and for all!” said the Great Lord in a deep voice, now thinking less about other things, only wishing to retrieve the Gold Silk Armor and secure his life. As for Ye Jun and Wen’er, he didn’t even have the heart to capture them; it’s even uncertain if he could bring back the Gold Silk Armor.

Unfortunately, the Great Lord couldn’t understand Huaxia language, and Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar couldn’t understand his foreign language either. So, each side shouted without understanding the other, continuing their glaring contest afterward.

After a moment of silence, Executioner Scholar suddenly looked at Nalan Jingwei and said in a deep voice, ”This place is quite secluded, and it seems no one else will chase us here. Only he remains now, and he likely spent a lot of energy dealing with those two earlier. How about we join forces and kill him here, once and for all!”

Nalan Jingwei slightly furrowed his brows, actually reluctant to engage in a fierce battle with the Great Lord. Unlike Executioner Scholar, Nalan Jingwei understood the importance of preserving his strength. He wouldn’t engage fiercely unless absolutely necessary. Just like earlier, when he wanted to kill White-haired Ding San, but upon the Bloody Monk’s appearance, he immediately let White-haired Ding San go. Not because he was weaker than Bloody Monk, but he saw no need to battle against Bloody Monk over White-haired Ding San.

This time was the same, having obtained the Gold Silk Armor and two hostages, whether the Great Lord lives or dies makes no difference. The key matter is Guiguzi’s tomb, not the Great Lord.

Seeing Nalan Jingwei silent, Executioner Scholar knew what he was thinking, and in a low voice continued, ”Given the situation now, if we don’t kill him, he won’t let us go. Nalan Jingwei, what are you hesitating about?”

Nalan Jingwei looked at the Great Lord, knowing Executioner Scholar’s words were accurate. Seeing the Great Lord chase for so long, it’s clear he wouldn’t easily give up, so this battle was inevitable.

Seeing Executioner Scholar constantly talking to Nalan Jingwei, although the Great Lord couldn’t understand his words, his instincts told him things were troublesome. The two continuously discussing, who knows what strategy they were devising, but certainly against him. If the fight started, the situation could be dangerous for him indeed.

”I just want the Gold Silk Armor, give me the Gold Silk Armor and nothing else.” The Great Lord loudly spoke again, ”Moreover, I promise, even if the Church invades Huaxia, I can protect the two of you. How about that?”

The enmity between the Church and Huaxian Martial Artists was undoubtedly leading to conflict. The Great Lord’s offer was difficult, essentially promising to safeguard their lives during a wartime, which was exceptionally generous. To retrieve the Gold Silk Armor, he was willing to make sacrifices.

Unfortunately, neither Nalan Jingwei nor Executioner Scholar understood his words, so his offer held no allure for them. On the contrary, hearing his words, Nalan Jingwei wondered if the Great Lord was threatening them.

After pondering for a moment, Nalan Jingwei suddenly looked up and signaled to Executioner Scholar. Executioner Scholar understood immediately, turning to charge at the Great Lord.

The Great Lord didn’t expect them to suddenly make a move. Seeing Executioner Scholar rush over, he realized things were bad. Executioner Scholar had acted, so surely Nalan Jingwei wouldn’t stand by idly. Thus, he didn’t engage Executioner Scholar head-on, instead dodging aside, focusing more on Nalan Jingwei.

True to the Great Lord’s expectations, shortly after Executioner Scholar attacked, Nalan Jingwei also charged from another direction towards the Great Lord.

”Shameless, ganging up on me two-to-one!” The Great Lord let out an angry roar; though infuriated, it was futile. Moreover, Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar didn’t understand his language, so his shouting had no effect, with the two continuing to attack him together.

In a one-on-one battle, neither Nalan Jingwei nor Executioner Scholar could defeat the Great Lord individually. However, with two against one, they had the upper hand. Further, the Great Lord’s previous use of the forbidden move had diminished his prowess significantly. Under their joint attack, he was in peril, relentlessly forced to retreat. If not for his remarkable speed, he would have suffered already.

Having clashed with the Great Lord several times before, Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar were aware of his capabilities. Seeing the Great Lord quickly fall into disadvantage, they were overjoyed, knowing his previous use of forbidden moves must have drained much strength, leading to the current situation. Thus, they continued their aggressive assault, aiming for a swift resolution against the Great Lord.

Though the Great Lord faced constant retreat under their attacks, he was understandably enraged. First ambushed by two peak masters, he had expended significant energy fending them off. Now, facing Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar, the outcome was predictable. Despite his unending roars, he had no effective countermeasures, only managing to defend and evade with no chance to counterattack.

”Nalan Jingwei, Executioner Scholar, mark my words!” The Great Lord roared continually, ”Today’s events will not be forgotten by the Church. Once our forces penetrate Huaxia, you will be the first targets the Church seeks to eliminate!”

Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar couldn’t understand his threats, nor did they care, continuing their full-strength offensive just to end the Great Lord quickly. Within minutes, Nalan Jingwei’s heavy punch landed on the Great Lord’s left shoulder during a failed dodge attempt, causing him to scream in pain. Instinctively pursuing Nalan Jingwei, Executioner Scholar attacked from the side, slashing a blood mark onto the Great Lord’s arm with his short sword.

These successive setbacks brought the Great Lord some clarity, realizing such a battle offered him no advantage. If this continued, not only would he fail to reclaim the Gold Silk Armor and the hostages, but even his life might be forfeit. Hence, he abandoned thoughts of seizing the artifacts, focusing on resisting and stealthily scanning for opportunities to escape.

Despite being outmatched, the Great Lord’s prowess remains speed, letting him escape even if unable to defeat them. After a brief clash, he suddenly feigned a move, dodging Nalan Jingwei and Executioner Scholar’s attacks, swiftly turning to flee without hesitation.

”Trying to escape!” Executioner Scholar shouted, pursuing closely. Meanwhile, Nalan Jingwei did not follow, urgently advising, ”Don’t chase a desperate foe; take the hostages and run!”

Nalan Jingwei’s call came belatedly since Executioner Scholar had already chased over twenty meters ahead. Intent on slaying the Great Lord, Executioner Scholar wouldn’t heed Nalan Jingwei’s words from behind.

Seeing Executioner Scholar ignoring him, Nalan Jingwei was indeed annoyed, but knowing Executioner Scholar’s character as uncontrollable, he could only turn to grab Ye Jun and Wen’er, promptly following after. However, his natural slow speed, now encumbered with two people, further delayed his chase, making it hard to catch up with the two ahead.

Fortunately, surrounded by mountains and forests, they didn’t worry about attracting others. The trio sprinted along the mountain path, the difference in speed gradually stretching them apart. The Great Lord, being fastest, soon vanished from sight. Executioner Scholar followed him, while Nalan Jingwei trailed far behind, unable to even see Executioner Scholar, thoroughly separating the three.
