Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing had been waiting for this Half-Moon Night, and he’d already waited several days. When the day finally came, in the afternoon he quietly left Shenchuan City together with Fu Qingping, took a side road, and rushed to the place where Wen’er was currently located.

These past few days, Wen’er had stayed in that spot without moving at all. And on Ye Qing’s side, he had also finished his investigation and confirmed that Wen’er had indeed been captured by Japanese ninjas.

What puzzled Ye Qing, though, was that after the last incident, Nalan Jingwei, the Executioner Scholar, and the Great Lord had never appeared again. You had to know, all three of them had taken part in the struggle for the Gold Silk Armor—how could it be that after that time they all vanished without a trace? Could it be that they had already given up on fighting over the Gold Silk Armor?

If Nalan Jingwei and the Executioner Scholar had given up, Ye Qing could still understand; after all, the Japanese ninjas were quite strong, and those two definitely couldn’t match this group. But for the Great Lord to give up as well, that was a bit strange. You had to know, the Great Lord was trying to seize the Gold Silk Armor in order to save his own life—was he really not planning to preserve his own life anymore?

Ye Qing, however, did not know that Nalan Jingwei and the Executioner Scholar had already fallen into the hands of the Wanyan Family. As for the Great Lord, how could he possibly give up on the Gold Silk Armor so easily?

Although he didn’t know where those three had gone, with Fu Qingping at his side, Ye Qing felt much more at ease. With Fu Qingping’s strength, even if those people all showed up together, they wouldn’t be his match. So this time, in searching for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, Ye Qing was actually full of confidence.

When he reached the location where Wen’er was, Ye Qing did not go straight to her, but hid quietly nearby instead. A little after seven in the evening, with the half-moon hanging in the sky, the two cars drove out from the manor as Ye Qing waited. At the same time, he received a message from the tracking team: Wen’er had started to move!

Of the two vehicles, the one in front was a larger business van, and the one behind was a small truck. Without a doubt, Wen’er had to be in one of these two vehicles, while the small truck behind was most likely loaded with those one hundred and eight pieces of Famed Instruments. Since these Japanese ninjas were setting out to look for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, they would definitely seize the opportunity to open it directly, so as not to let night bring more unforeseen trouble.

This was exactly the situation Ye Qing wanted to see; he was planning to use the Japanese ninjas’ hands to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. Ye Qing did not follow them immediately; after all, there weren’t many cars on the road, and if he tailed them directly, he would only draw the attention of the people ahead. So he lingered there for a while before finally starting the car to catch up. Fortunately, there was a professional team in Shenchuan City handling positioning and tracking, so he could easily keep up. As long as he didn’t follow too closely, the cars in front wouldn’t notice them.

Driving behind them, what Ye Qing was thinking about more was still the usage of the Gold Silk Armor. Although he already knew how to use the Gold Silk Armor to find the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, he still wasn’t very clear on how, on the Half-Moon Night, this Gold Silk Armor actually located the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master.

————————————————————————————————————————

On the Japanese ninjas’ side, Wen’er was indeed sitting in one of the two vehicles, and the Great Elder was seated right beside her. As for the Gold Silk Armor, at this moment it was floating in midair, and its two sleeves were clearly pointing in a certain direction. The two vehicles were currently heading exactly in that direction.

”So this is how you use the Gold Silk Armor to search for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master!” The Great Elder looked at the Gold Silk Armor drifting in the air and said excitedly, ”This further confirms what I said before—this Gold Silk Armor is indeed made from a kind of Magnetic Metal.”

Everyone looked at the Great Elder, completely at a loss, not understanding how this proved that the Gold Silk Armor was made of Magnetic Metal.

”You still don’t get it?” The Great Elder swept a glance over them and said, ”Think about it—why is it that only on the Half-Moon Night can this Gold Silk Armor point out the location of the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?”

They all looked at one another and shook their heads at the same time. Of course they had no way of guessing something like this.

”Fools, you still don’t understand?” The Great Elder said, ”Didn’t I say before? This Gold Silk Armor is made of Magnetic Metal that repels the Earth’s magnetism. But the Earth’s magnetism is also influenced by external forces, and the greatest influence comes from the moon, which is closest to the Earth. When the Gold Silk Armor was forged, they must have used some method in the distribution of materials to make the pair of sleeves more sensitive to the moon’s magnetic force. Only on the Half-Moon Night can these sleeves sense the moon’s magnetism and at the same time generate a kind of force field with the magnetic field of the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, causing the sleeves to rise and point toward the location of the tomb!”

Everyone listened, dumbfounded. This kind of thing was simply beyond anything they could guess or understand. The Great Elder had said so much, and they still didn’t really understand what was going on. However, since the Great Elder could explain it, that meant this matter wasn’t quite as mystical as it sounded.

”Since you now know how to use the Gold Silk Armor and you know I wasn’t lying to you, you should let me and my mother go now!” Wen’er said in a low voice beside him.

”Miss Wen’er, why are you in such a rush? Since I promised to let you two go, I certainly won’t go back on my word!” The Great Elder smiled faintly and said, ”It’s just that you need to first let us find the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. Before we find it, we still have to ask you to cooperate a little longer!”

”You people never keep your word!” Wen’er said angrily. ”You Japanese are truly shameless. I never should have trusted you!”

The surrounding ninjas’ expressions all changed; Wen’er’s words cast the net far too wide, and it stirred up anger in all of them.

The Great Elder was quite calm. He waved his hand at everyone, then looked at Wen’er and said with a smile, ”Miss Wen’er, I advise you not to curse the Japanese anymore. It won’t do you any good!”

”I’ll curse, I’ll curse, what can you do, kill me if you’ve got the guts!” Wen’er shot back angrily.

”Heh heh…” The Great Elder smiled faintly, completely ignoring Wen’er. He just stared at the Gold Silk Armor, joy flickering in his eyes. He had been searching for this Tomb of Ghost Valley Master for a very long time; this time, he could finally open it. One could imagine how excited he was inside.

Wen’er angrily cursed again on the side, but under the Great Elder’s restraint, no one paid any attention to her. That made Wen’er feel bored, and she gradually stopped cursing. Looking at the Gold Silk Armor floating in the air, Wen’er was actually a bit worried inside. She didn’t know whether Ye Qing had managed to follow them, but the Great Elder’s confident attitude really filled her with a vague sense of unease.

They drove in the direction indicated by the Gold Silk Armor for four or five hours, from after seven all the way to the early hours of the morning. The driver was getting a bit tired. One Ninja turned his head to look at the Great Elder and said in a low voice, ”Great Elder, we’ve been driving for so long and still there’s no sign of arriving. At this rate, if we keep going, we’ll probably be out of the province. When are we ever going to find this Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?”

”What’s wrong with leaving the province?” the Great Elder said. ”No one knows exactly where the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master is. Huaxia is so big, and you still expect to find this tomb in a single day?”

The Ninja said, ”But if we can’t find it in one day, this Half-Moon Night will have passed. If we want to find it again next time, we’ll have to wait half a month!”

”It’s fine. We’ve already waited this long, so why care about another half month?” The Great Elder smiled and said, ”Keep driving, no need to rush. If we can’t find it this time, we’ll wait for the next. We’ve got nothing but time anyway!”

Since the Great Elder had said so, those Ninjas naturally had nothing more to say and continued moving along the direction indicated by the Gold Silk Armor. They really did drive the entire night like that. At a bit past eight the next morning, the two sleeves of the Gold Silk Armor slowly dropped down; because the moon was gone, the clue had been lost.

After rushing about for a whole night, the Japanese were all exhausted as well, and they found a place to rest for the time being. On Ye Qing and Fu Qingping’s side, they naturally didn’t dare follow too closely and also found a place to stay for the moment. Ye Qing wasn’t worried about losing them, because the tracking staff could report their position to him at any time.

They casually picked a hotel and checked in. Ye Qing had been driving all night and was dead tired; he went into the room and lay down to sleep right away. Fu Qingping had needed less and less sleep lately; most of the time he cultivated in meditation. This time, as soon as he entered the room, he sat down cross-legged and began meditating.

Ye Qing didn’t know how long he slept. In a daze, he heard the sound of a door opening, which gave him a jolt inside. He hurriedly opened his eyes, only to find that Fu Qingping was no longer in the room!

”Shizhu? Shizhu?” Ye Qing called out softly twice, but there was no reply, which puzzled him even more. In this totally unfamiliar place, where would Fu Qingping go? And what would he be doing out there?

With these questions in mind, Ye Qing turned over and got up, walked out of the room, planning to look for Fu Qingping. But just as he reached the stairwell, he happened to see Fu Qingping standing right there, looking out through the corridor window.

”Shizhu?” Ye Qing walked over in surprise and asked, baffled, ”What are you doing?”

Fu Qingping took a step back and pointed outside the window. ”Look.”

Ye Qing didn’t know what Fu Qingping was looking at, but he still went over and glanced outside. This was the rear parking lot; all the cars belonging to hotel guests were parked here.

”What about it?” Ye Qing asked curiously. Was there something in the parking lot that could attract Fu Qingping’s attention?

”Look at that person.” Fu Qingping pointed at a man standing beside one of the cars. Ye Qing followed the direction of his finger and just happened to see that man.

Although they were quite far away, Ye Qing could still vaguely make out the man’s face. The man was rather tall, with a head of curly hair, and his face gave off an indescribably strange feeling. What surprised Ye Qing the most was that, looking at the man’s back, Ye Qing for some reason had a strong sense of familiarity, as if he had seen him somewhere before.
