Urban Martial Saint

When the Executioner Scholar stabbed the sword into the man’s chest, even Nalan Jingwei was stunned. He thought the Executioner Scholar had been intimidated by the man and was about to join forces with him against him; he was all prepared to flee at that moment. Unexpectedly, the Executioner Scholar struck from behind, launching a sneak attack on the man, which he had not anticipated at all.

However, he quickly regained his composure. Seeing the man attack the Executioner Scholar, he directly swung his Soft Sword and stabbed towards the man.

The man was furious to the extreme at being ambushed by the Executioner Scholar. Thus, his focus was solely on the Executioner Scholar, seemingly having completely forgotten about Nalan Jingwei behind him. Although Nalan Jingwei stabbed with his sword, the man didn’t dodge or block at all, and Nalan Jingwei’s sword effortlessly pierced through his body once more.

This left the man even more gravely injured, finally slowing his speed. Despite this, he continued to glare fixedly at the Executioner Scholar, gasping for breath while roaring furiously, ”Executioner Scholar, you despicable outsider, how dare you attack me. The Sword Saint Sect won’t spare you, the Sect Leader won’t spare you, no one will spare you!”

”Is that so?” The Executioner Scholar let out a cold laugh, slowly raising the Short Sword in his hand, speaking in a steady tone, ”They won’t spare me, so what? From the day I escaped the Sword Saint Sect, I considered myself already dead. Living one more day with dignity is earning a day. Even if I could live for only one day, I would never return to the Sword Saint Sect to be a dog!”

Nalan Jingwei narrowed his eyes slightly. Listening to the Executioner Scholar’s words, it seemed that the situation at the Sword Saint Sect wasn’t great. The attitude of the Sword Saint Sect towards outsiders was likely not good at all. This could be inferred from the fact that the Executioner Scholar used a Short Sword. As an outsider from the Sword Saint Sect, his weapon was a sword rather than a saber, indicating that the sect would never pass on true teachings to outsiders. No wonder the Executioner Scholar would escape the Sword Saint Sect; life there was probably without dignity. In such an undignified life, even if that man pleaded on the Executioner Scholar’s behalf, the Executioner Scholar still wouldn’t return if the sect indeed didn’t trouble him. Thus, the Executioner Scholar would definitely not team up with this man!

The man was simply too arrogant, believing that the Executioner Scholar would be fearful of the Sword Saint Sect and the Sect Leader. He didn’t know that since the day the Executioner Scholar escaped the sect, he had already cast life and death aside. Returning to the Sword Saint Sect would be worse than killing him directly!

”Executioner Scholar, let me help you kill him!” Nalan Jingwei slowly raised the Soft Sword in his hand, placing it on the man’s neck, saying to the Executioner Scholar, ”You go and grab the Gold Silk Armor and those two hostages, and let’s leave this place as soon as possible. I have a feeling those two can’t hold off the Great Lord for long!”

”Alright!” Without another word, the Executioner Scholar dove into the freight truck, going to find the Gold Silk Armor along with Ye Jun and Wen’er.

On the car roof, Nalan Jingwei positioned the Soft Sword against the man’s neck, asking in a stern voice, ”I ask you, how many people did the Sword Saint Sect send out this time, and how many more will come?”

”Hmph, you despicable waste, only colluding with that traitor Executioner Scholar. If it weren’t for such underhanded ambush tactics, how could you have hurt me?” The man shouted loudly, ”Dream on if you think I’ll divulge the Sword Saint Sect’s secrets!”

Seeing the man’s arrogant demeanor, Nalan Jingwei knew extracting information from him would be virtually impossible. Therefore, he showed no mercy, delivering a decisive slash that killed the man on the car roof.

Having just resolved the situation with the man, the Executioner Scholar jumped right out of the truck. He held a person in each hand, none other than Ye Jun and Wen’er.

”Where’s the Gold Silk Armor?” Nalan Jingwei asked anxiously; this was the pivotal item.

The Executioner Scholar casually shook a bag on his back, indicating that the Gold Silk Armor was inside. This made Nalan Jingwei overjoyed, and he quickly said, ”We’ve got it, let’s retreat!”

The Executioner Scholar was about to nod, but his expression suddenly changed, and he said in a grave voice, ”Be careful!”

Nalan Jingwei also sensed something amiss, quickly turning around just in time to see a black silhouette lunging at them. The silhouette moved extremely fast, giving Nalan Jingwei no time to think. He immediately swung his Soft Sword towards the silhouette.

As the silhouette drew near, Nalan Jingwei could see clearly that it wasn’t a shadow at all but the Great Lord himself. The black aura hadn’t fully dissipated from his body, making him appear like a dark figure. However, his speed was incredibly fast. Seeing Nalan Jingwei use the Soft Sword to block, he reached out with both hands, his ten fingernails repeatedly clashing with Nalan Jingwei’s Soft Sword, forcing it aside, as he moved straight towards Nalan Jingwei.

Nalan Jingwei had engaged in several rounds with the Great Lord, well aware of his power. Seeing the Great Lord charging forward, he didn’t dodge, knowing that the Great Lord’s speed was too fast for evasion to be effective. He casually took a step, and a Golden Lotus instantly blossomed around him, enveloping him within it. This way, no matter how strong the Great Lord was, he first had to break through this Golden Lotus to do him harm!

The Great Lord understood the formidable power of Nalan Jingwei’s Step by Step Golden Lotus, so he decisively stopped himself from attacking Nalan Jingwei, turning instead to pounce at the Executioner Scholar, both hands reaching for the bag behind the Executioner Scholar. He knew that the Gold Silk Armor was inside, and he had to seize it no matter what.

”Nowhere to run!” Nalan Jingwei shouted loudly, swinging his Soft Sword at the Great Lord once again. Just because the Great Lord didn’t attack him didn’t mean he would let the Great Lord go.

The Great Lord felt something was wrong behind him and helplessly turned to engage in combat with Nalan Jingwei once more. His strength was superior to Nalan Jingwei’s, but only by a little, and having just executed the Forbidden Move, his power had diminished considerably. Under these circumstances, it would truly take at least an hour to determine the winner. However, on Nalan Jingwei’s side, there was also the Executioner Scholar; if the two joined forces, it would be the Great Lord who suffered.

After exchanging several moves with Nalan Jingwei, the Great Lord finally charged away from Nalan Jingwei, aiming to pounce toward the Executioner Scholar again. But by this time, the Executioner Scholar had already run far away with two hostages and the Gold Silk Armor, making it too late for him to chase.

”Roar!” The Great Lord was furious, letting out a strange howl, accelerating to pursue the Executioner Scholar.

Nalan Jingwei pursued relentlessly but couldn’t match the Great Lord’s speed, making it impossible for him to catch up. The three sprinted along the mountain road, and within moments, they had already crossed the mountain.

And shortly after the three of them crossed the mountain, two others emerged, those same Peak Masters who earlier obstructed the Great Lord on the road. Both of them were more or less injured, apparently unable to withstand the Great Lord when he executed the Forbidden Move. It’s no wonder the Great Lord managed to get entangled with Nalan Jingwei earlier; the after-effects of the Forbidden Move had somewhat weakened the Great Lord’s power.

When the two reached the scene, Nalan Jingwei, the Executioner Scholar, and the Great Lord had already run far out of sight. All that remained at the scene was a truck, and inside, the driver had been slain by Saber Qi and Sword Qi during Nalan Jingwei’s fierce clash with that man, leaving the vehicle out of control and crashed into a tree by the roadside, coming to a stop. As for the man, he had fallen from the vehicle, his body a mangled bloody mess.

Upon seeing the man’s corpse, both men’s faces changed, with one of them speaking somberly, ”Brother... was Brother killed?”

”Church people!” The other gritted his teeth and said darkly, ”It must have been that Great Lord from the Church just now!”

Witnesses who saw Nalan Jingwei and the Executioner Scholar besieging the man were already dead, and neither of them had seen Nalan Jingwei and the Executioner Scholar, so they unanimously decided that the man was killed by the Great Lord. As for the sword injuries on the man’s body, they didn’t pay any mind, knowing that although the Great Lord didn’t use a sword while fighting them, who said the Great Lord couldn’t wield a sword? So, in their minds, this man was killed by the Great Lord, without considering any other possibilities.

The first man didn’t speak, he entered the truck, only to find that the Great Lord’s vehicle now only had a dead driver inside. As for Ye Qing and Wen’er, they were naturally nowhere to be found. The Gold Silk Armor was even further from sight.

”The item is gone too!” The man’s face turned even darker, saying grimly, ”Now what?”

”What else can we do?” The other man said gloomily, ”Go back and tell the Sect Leader! The Church dared to kill members of the Sword Saint Sect, this is absolutely unforgivable!”

The first man gritted his teeth, nodding tersely, ”This debt must be settled clearly with the Church no matter what. Just as the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates are opening, our entire Sword Saint Sect will emerge. If we get our hands on that item, we can definitely obliterate the Church completely!”

Both men were filled with rage, not intending to pursue the Great Lord any further, and instead carried the corpse of the man from the ground, turning to run in another direction. In truth, after being injured by the Great Lord earlier and seeing the man’s death here, they were deeply shaken by the Great Lord’s power, not daring to chase him anymore. After all, if the Great Lord killed this man, if they pursued him, who knew if the Great Lord wouldn’t kill them too?

It was precisely due to these two men’s cowardice and fear that this misunderstanding arose. And this misunderstanding conveniently led to conflict between the Sword Saint Sect and the Church. As for the situation after the Sword Saint Sect fully emerges, who knows? Anyway, the relationship between the Sword Saint Sect and the Church will certainly not be harmonious!
