Urban Martial Saint

Listening to Old Wang Ba’s words, Ye Qing casually glanced at him, smiled faintly but didn’t speak. The reason he used the Gold Silk Armor was not just for the simple purpose of saving his brother, he also wanted to use it to trap another group of people. Moreover, saving Ye Jun wasn’t as simple as Wen’er made it out to be; he had other plans, a very big plan!

”Now that you know my plan, you don’t need to worry about the safety of the Gold Silk Armor, right?” Ye Qing said to Old Wang Ba.

Old Wang Ba smacked his lips and said, ”Although your plan is good, I must remind you that the Gold Silk Armor is very important, don’t lose it.”

”Don’t worry, with our patriarch personally intervening, who can take the Gold Silk Armor?” Ye Qing said.

Old Wang Ba looked at Fu Qingping, who had been sitting silently beside them with his eyes closed, and his expression finally relaxed a bit. After all, he was well aware of Fu Qingping’s strength. If Fu Qingping couldn’t protect the Gold Silk Armor, it wouldn’t be safe even if it wasn’t taken out.

”Eighth Master, you don’t need to worry about this matter. You should hide with Mr. Bai Li first. The Great Lord will enter the manor tomorrow to take something. While he won’t kill Wen’er, there’s no guarantee that he won’t target others,” Ye Qing said. ”Tomorrow, everyone in the manor except for Wen’er and other key figures must be evacuated. Your identity as the sole heir of the Iron Calculation Sect might bring disaster upon you!”

These words greatly satisfied Old Wang Ba. He stroked his middle-parted hairstyle proudly and said, ”What you say is true. My identity, even the people from the Church fear it!”

”Alright, alright, you go with Mr. Bai Li for now,” Ye Qing said, calling a few subordinates to take Old Wang Ba and Bai Li Xi out to hide. In fact, most key figures in the manor were evacuated by Ye Qing as he had mentioned earlier. The Great Lord might not dare to kill Wen’er, but that doesn’t mean he won’t target others in the manor. Shenchuan City was basically Ye Qing’s base, with many people he cared about. If the Great Lord killed even one or two of them, it would drive Ye Qing crazy.

”Make sure to protect the Gold Silk Armor, don’t let anyone else get it!” Old Wang Ba mumbled as he left, showing his emphasis on the Armor. This was understandable since the Armor was linked to the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master — the only tomb left by the Taoist Great Saint after the era of Buddhist and Taoist magic, potentially hiding the highest secrets of the Taoist Sect itself. Being a branch of the Taoist Sect, Old Wang Ba’s Iron Calculation Sect naturally paid significant attention to these secrets.

After sending Old Wang Ba and company away, Ye Qing gave Wen’er a few additional instructions, then had her leave. Once the room was empty except for Ye Qing and Fu Qingping, Fu Qingping finally opened his eyes. He glanced at Ye Qing and said softly, ”Your plan isn’t just about saving your brother, is it?”

Ye Qing smiled slightly and said, ”Nothing escapes from Patriarch!”

”If it was just about saving your brother, why make things so complicated?” Fu Qingping said. ”If it was just about saving your brother, you would’ve discussed it with me much earlier, instead of planning everything out and then consulting me. Moreover, if it were simply about rescuing your brother, you could have just handed the Gold Silk Armor to the Great Lord through someone else. Why involve Wen’er?”

Ye Qing chuckled and replied, ”Patriarch is right. Having Wen’er personally carry the Gold Silk Armor, I indeed have another purpose, which is to take this opportunity to open the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master!”

”Oh?” Fu Qingping cast a surprised glance at Ye Qing. The mention of the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master was enough to shake him.

”You want to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?” Fu Qingping took a deep breath and said, ”But as far as I know, you have no idea how to open it.”

”Correct, the method to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master currently resides in the hands of that group of Japanese ninjas!” Ye Qing nodded.

”Japanese ninjas!” Fu Qingping’s brows furrowed slightly. As a seasoned expert, he naturally understood the Japanese ninjas better than Ye Qing.

”These arrogant individuals finally couldn’t restrain themselves and want to steal something from our Huaxia!” Fu Qingping was silent for a moment, glanced at Ye Qing, and said, ”You want to use this opportunity to lure out the Japanese ninjas?”

”Not only to lure them out but also to have them help me open the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master!” Ye Qing said. ”This is also the primary reason why I must have Wen’er carry the Gold Silk Armor. Wen’er is the daughter of the Headmaster of the South Ridge Sect and is aware of many things about the Sect. The Japanese ninjas essentially controlled the South Ridge Sect previously, and with the Headmasters now missing, the Japanese ninjas cannot ignore this. I can guarantee that the Japanese ninjas certainly have someone monitoring Wen’er. So, once Wen’er takes possession of the Gold Silk Armor, they will immediately know and act to steal it.”

Fu Qingping was unaware of the ties between the South Ridge Sect and the Japanese ninjas. Hearing Ye Qing’s words, he slightly nodded and said, ”Your idea isn’t bad. That would mean tomorrow, we might not even need to intervene, as the Japanese ninjas will first attack the Great Lord and rescue your brother.”

”Exactly.” Ye Qing nodded. ”As long as it’s not us who take action, the Great Lord will not only refrain from killing Wen’er and my brother but might even protect them, as he plans to use them as leverage against me. Hence, if the Japanese ninjas act, they will definitely capture my brother, Wen’er, and the Gold Silk Armor!”

”But will Wen’er reveal how to find the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master to them?” Fu Qingping softly reminded, ”Don’t forget, Wen’er is quite headstrong.”

”I’ve already considered that,” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”I’ve briefed Wen’er about it. The reason I divulge the method to her is for another reason. The Japanese ninjas captured her mother to control the South Ridge Sect. This time, should they capture Wen’er, they will definitely use her mother to threaten her, thereby prompting them to bring her mother out. In such a case, Wen’er could give them the method to locate the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master.”

At this point, Ye Qing took a deep breath and said, ”This group of Japanese ninjas has been preparing for some time; they certainly have acquired enough famed instruments that can be used to open the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master. I intend to have Wen’er deliver the Gold Silk Armor and the method to find the Tomb to them, prompting them to open it immediately. Once they open it, we can make our move. With your power, Patriarch, this group of Japanese individuals certainly would not be your opponents. This way, we can not only rescue my brother and Wen’er, but also Wen’er’s mother and enter the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master. It’s indeed a win-win-win situation!”

Fu Qingping listened to Ye Qing’s plan and slowly nodded, ”Your plan is indeed impressive, but have you considered: if the Japanese people learn the method to locate the Tomb, might they not kill Wen’er and your brother to silence them?”

”No, they won’t,” Ye Qing smiled, ”Before verifying the Tomb’s location, they will not put anyone to death because they can’t confirm if Wener’s method is genuine or a ruse.”

”True,” Fu Qingping nodded, stood up, and said, ”Since you’ve thought it through, let’s proceed. When you need my intervention, contact me directly.”

”Thank you, Patriarch!” Ye Qing, overjoyed, quickly bent down to express gratitude. In his plan, Fu Qingping’s role was crucial. Only with Fu Qingping’s overwhelming strength did he dare risk surrendering the Gold Silk Armor. With Fu Qingping’s dominance, could they retrieve the Tomb after the Japanese ninjas open it? Without Fu Qingping, Ye Qing’s plan couldn’t be executed at all.

Fu Qingping nodded without further comment and turned to leave. Alone in the room, Ye Qing returned to the table to review his plan, ensuring it had no loopholes before exhaling in relief.

”Great Lord, Japanese ninja?” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”It’s quite beneficial to allow the Church’s people to clash with these Japanese ninjas first!”

After saying this, Ye Qing suddenly remembered something and quickly retrieved an ancient book from his person, hurrying to Liu Mubai’s room.

After a blood transfusion, Liu Mubai had finally regained some strength and was now in deep sleep. Just as Bai Li Xi mentioned, he couldn’t withstand stress. Simple activities were possible, but medications were largely out of the question. Thus, lying in bed, he awaited a miracle, hoping his heart’s wound would gradually heal. Bai Li Xi also mentioned that this was unlikely, leaving Liu Mubai feeling disheartened and desolate.

Looking at Liu Mubai’s still pale complexion, Ye Qing sighed. Initially, Liu Mubai helped him out of a hired relationship, but eventually, they became as close as brothers. Liu Mubai risked his life for him numerous times, and to see him end up like this was truly lamentable. In truth, it was a miracle that Liu Mubai survived, but in Ye Qing’s heart, he remained unwilling to accept defeat. He wanted to attempt restoring Liu Mubai fully.

Calling softly twice, Liu Mubai awoke from his slumber. Seeing Ye Qing by his bedside surprised him and he quickly tried to sit up but was halted by Ye Qing.

”You’re injured; don’t move,” Ye Qing said, placing two pillows to prop Liu Mubai up.

”It’s just a minor injury; it won’t kill me!” Liu Mubai said with a laugh, but Ye Qing could see the despair and lament in his eyes.
