Urban Martial Saint

Among everyone present, Fu Qingping’s strength was the strongest, so his senses were the most acute as well. If he said such a situation was happening, there was absolutely no mistake.

In fact, Ye Qing also sensed it, because the three forces within his body had become even more violent. He could clearly feel that beneath the stone tablet of this platform, there seemed to be a force being awakened, roaring continuously underground. And the one hundred and eight famed instruments placed on the platform seemed to be controlled by this force as well, from starting to shake continuously, to eventually slowly rising, as if someone had lifted them all into the sky.

Ye Qing saw clearly that these famed instruments were all offensive weapons. Now, with the one hundred and eight famed instruments all floating in mid-air, it looked very magical, but also extremely dangerous. If all one hundred and eight famed instruments fell simultaneously, everyone present would be pinned here by them.

Fu Qingping slowly caressed the Qingping Sword in his hand, his eyes flickering with fanatical light. He could feel the power of this force, and this feeling gave him new insights into surpassing the realm of the acme. Right now, he wasn’t thinking about the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master at all, only feeling the power beneath the stone platform, sensing the enlightenment it brought him. At this moment, he wouldn’t let go of any opportunity for cultivation or any chance to surpass the acme barrier!

The Wo Country’s Ninjas didn’t expect this situation to occur either. Watching the one hundred and eight famed instruments slowly float into the air, they were all stunned. Moreover, they could see the danger present, so they slowly backed away, not daring to approach the platform at all. Of course, they didn’t sense the power fluctuations beneath the platform; to them, this scene just looked bizarre.

This situation lasted for about five minutes, and finally, the floating famed instruments seemed to receive some kind of summons. First, a longsword fell directly from the air, swiftly heading toward the ground.

Even though the ground was a stone tablet, this longsword was a famed instrument. As it fell, it penetrated the stone tablet in an instant, stabbing into it completely. Moreover, the longsword seemed to be drawn by some kind of force; although it pierced through the stone tablet, it didn’t pause for a moment and completely disappeared into the stone tablet, leaving behind a black hole as if the longsword had completely burrowed into the ground.

Everyone around looked at each other, no one expecting such an event. This famed instrument actually burrowed into the ground? What on earth was happening?

As everyone was amazed, the second famed instrument fell, and just like the first one, it also burrowed underground, leaving only a hole on the floor.

Next came the third, fourth, fifth...

In less than an hour, all one hundred and eight famed instruments had burrowed into the ground, not a single one remaining. And Ye Qing could clearly feel that the underground force was diminishing along with these famed instruments falling, until it nearly disappeared.

The Wo Country’s Ninjas had no idea about the force beneath the stone tablet. Seeing these famed instruments all burrow into the ground, everyone was greatly shocked. The Third Elder walked over, looked around in surprise, and whispered, ”Huh, all the famed instruments have gone in, why hasn’t the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master opened yet?”

Everyone shared the same thought, all looking at Hattori Ichiryu. The method to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master was known only to the Sect Master and the Great Elder; the others only knew how to place the famed instruments.

Hattori Ichiryu also stared at the stone wall over there, waved his hand, and said, ”Wait a moment, wait a moment. Our arrangement is correct, the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master will definitely open!”

Everyone watched the stone wall anxiously, waiting for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master to open. Not just them, even Ye Qing was staring intently at the stone wall. After all, this was the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, the tomb of the only Great Saint Daoist Sect in thousands of years!

While everyone was waiting, Fu Qingping raised his head slowly, looking at a large rock on top of the stone wall as if he had discovered something. But after staring at it for a while, he found nothing, eventually shaking his head, wondering if he had mistaken something.

After waiting for nearly ten minutes, there was still no movement from the stone wall. This situation made Hattori Ichiryu somewhat impatient; he walked to the stone wall, looked at it carefully, and said in surprise, ”Strange, why won’t it open? According to Ancestor Chen Tuan’s method, this should open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. Why hasn’t it opened?”

Ye Qing and Fu Qingping stood nearby; they didn’t know the method to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. However, the events just now were enough to shock them. They didn’t know if Hattori Ichiryu had made any mistakes in his method, but the force beneath the stone tablet had already revealed to them that there was indeed something off about it.

”Great Elder, look, this... this crack seems to be expanding!” Suddenly, a ninja exclaimed, and everyone’s attention was immediately drawn over.

Ye Qing also looked over quickly, and indeed, just like the ninja said, the crack was indeed widening. It looked as if the rock was splitting apart, the crack spreading over the entire stone wall, and all the stone walls were filled with cracks.

Seeing this, Ye Qing’s complexion changed, and he exclaimed, ”Back off quickly, the stone wall is going to collapse!”

Just as Ye Qing’s words fell, a stone suddenly fell from the stone wall. These Wo Country’s Ninjas were startled and moved back immediately. However, they were still a step too slow, for as the stone fell, the stone wall collapsed instantly.

The stone wall stood over ten meters high and now collapsed into rubble, and the result was predictable. These Wo Country’s Ninjas, although not weak, still included some top-level masters. The peak masters managed to withdraw, but the top-level masters were a bit slower, resulting in being buried by the falling rubble. The pile of rubble was like a small mountain, and not just top-level masters, even peak masters covered by it would be crushed to death!

Ye Qing and Fu Qingping stood farther away, so the collapse didn’t affect them. However, witnessing the scene of the collapse was indeed shocking.

”This... this stone wall can collapse?” Hattori Ichiryu was also pale with fright, having stood very close earlier. If it weren’t for Ye Qing’s timely shout, he wouldn’t have managed to dodge in time. Otherwise, he would have been in danger just now. Thinking back to the scene of the collapse, he still felt a lingering fear.

No one answered Hattori Ichiryu’s question, as the ninjas on his side were even more frightened.

The stone wall collapsed, raising clouds of dust. After a good while, the dust slowly settled, and Ye Qing finally saw the situation behind the stone wall clearly.

The entire stone wall had collapsed into rubble, and a massive stone gate appeared behind it. The stone gate looked extremely thick, just as Ye Qing had heard when he knocked on it earlier. With the thickness of this stone gate, there was no way to tell if there was space behind it by knocking.

”So, this is the real entrance!” Ye Qing whispered, realizing that the stone wall just now was not the entrance, but this stone gate was the true entrance.

Thinking back to how the Wo Country’s Ninjas used the one hundred and eight famed instruments to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, Ye Qing already had a general understanding. The underground force must have controlled the one hundred and eight famed instruments, and all of them pierced into the ground, falling into the earth. As the famed instruments penetrated the ground, and through the force’s pull, they shattered the stone wall.

Only after the stone wall shattered did it collapse, and the stone gate appeared behind it; this was the method of opening? But this opening method seemed a bit too strange. Given the state of the stone wall, a few hammer strikes could knock it down and reveal the stone gate behind. Why the need for famed instruments, and such a complex arrangement with one hundred and eight famed instruments?

Ye Qing felt puzzled in his heart; the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master gave him a very eerie feeling, making him think it might not be as straightforward as imagined. Moreover, with all one hundred and eight famed instruments having fallen into the ground, where did they actually go? Could they have entered the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?

While Ye Qing pondered these questions, the Wo Country’s Ninjas rushed toward the stone gate, their faces filled with excitement. Particularly Hattori Ichiryu, grinning from ear to ear, pointed at the stone gate and exclaimed, ”The Tomb of Ghost Valley Master! The Tomb of Ghost Valley Master! I’ve finally found it! I’ve finally found it!”

The other ninjas were equally excited; if they could bring back something from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, that would be a great achievement.

”Great Elder, what are we waiting for? Let’s go in directly?” The Third Elder said excitedly. Their Iga-ryu ninjas had been searching for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master for many years, and now that they finally saw it, he could hardly wait to rush in immediately.

Hattori Ichiryu was even more excited than them, nodding repeatedly and saying, ”We must go in; don’t hurry. First, let’s push the stone gate open!”

As soon as Hattori Ichiryu finished speaking, two ninjas immediately rushed forward and pushed the massive stone gate open together.

Although the stone gate was enormous, over ten meters tall for each door, these two ninjas were both peak masters with immense strength. Furthermore, the stone gate had no lock or obstruction, so it could be pushed open with force, without requiring any particular skill.

And the moment the stone gate was opened, everyone’s eyes were fixed on what lay beyond the stone gate. Everyone wanted to see what was special about the tomb of the only Great Saint of the Taoist Sect in thousands of years!
