Urban Martial Saint

The Executioner Scholar had met Wanyan Hongsheng before, so he naturally knew this person’s identity, and it was Wanyan Hongsheng who persuaded him to align with the Wanyan Family. However, the Executioner Scholar had always been using the Wanyan Family and never intended to truly pledge allegiance. Now, seeing Wanyan Hongsheng, he naturally felt a bit guilty. He had used a lot of the Wanyan Family’s resources while harboring hidden motives. Now that the Wanyan Family had come to him, he inevitably felt panic in his heart.

Nalan Jingwei, although knowledgeable and experienced, did not recognize Wanyan Hongsheng and Wanyan Second Master. This was due to the nature of the Wanyan Family, where with each generation, aside from the direct heir, others had to hide their identities and leave the family to help establish power. Although Wanyan Hongsheng and Wanyan Second Master’s skills were not weak, they had always hidden their identities while working for the Wanyan Family, so outsiders were unaware of their affiliations. Even with Nalan Jingwei’s extensive knowledge, he was unaware that the two men before him were also from the Wanyan Family.

However, the fact that these two could silently arrive near them made Nalan Jingwei realize their skills were not to be underestimated. With the appearance of these two, Nalan Jingwei knew the situation was troublesome without needing to think further.

Nalan Jingwei, being clever, was severely injured and had no authority to speak, so he merely watched the Executioner Scholar, waiting for him to speak. He intended to stay on the side to analyze the situation through the Executioner Scholar’s conversation with the two, thereby finding a way to escape the current predicament.

But, despite Nalan Jingwei’s careful calculations, he misjudged one thing. Because the Executioner Scholar knew Wanyan Hongsheng, and seeing these two had panicked him, what useful information could he possibly get from the Executioner Scholar’s mouth?

Seeing neither of them speak, Wanyan Hongsheng smiled and said, ”What, are you two not welcoming us brothers?”

The Executioner Scholar furrowed his brow, as Wanyan Hongsheng’s strength was not below his own. Moreover, Wanyan Second Master beside him seemed to possess strength likely above Wanyan Hongsheng. If Nalan Jingwei wasn’t injured, they could at best be evenly matched with the two Wanyan brothers. However, Nalan Jingwei’s condition remained unknown, so what should be done in this situation? Also, why did these two suddenly appear here, and what were they planning? Instead of pursuing the Gold Silk Armor, why were they focused on the two of them? What was their scheme?

Still not speaking, Wanyan Hongsheng jumped down from the tree, walked towards them slowly, and said with a smile, ”Executioner Scholar, long time no see, you’ve become even more silent!”

Nalan Jingwei’s face changed; it was clear these two knew the Executioner Scholar. This spelled trouble for him.

With Wanyan Hongsheng addressing him this way, staying silent was impossible for the Executioner Scholar. He gave a wry smile, looked at Wanyan Hongsheng, and said, ”When did Brother Wanyan arrive? Why didn’t you send someone to inform me?”

”Brother Wanyan?” Nalan Jingwei’s heart skipped a beat, as he looked at Wanyan Hongsheng, he already guessed their identities - they were surely Wanyan Family members.

”When you came to snatch the Gold Silk Armor, you didn’t send someone to inform us, did you?” Wanyan Hongsheng coldly replied, indicating to the Executioner Scholar that they were aware of his betrayal intentions against the Wanyan Family.

The Executioner Scholar’s face became even gloomier, ”The issue with the Gold Silk Armor occurred suddenly; I didn’t have time to notify you two. I just had to take the initiative and plan to capture the Gold Silk Armor first before anything else!”

”Is that so?” Wanyan Hongsheng replied, ”After capturing the Gold Silk Armor, are you planning to help us open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master and take the contents inside?”

Hearing Wanyan Hongsheng’s sarcastic words, the Executioner Scholar’s face was awkward, and not knowing how to respond, he simply said nothing more.

Wanyan Hongsheng gave a cold laugh before turning to Nalan Jingwei, ”So you’re Nalan Jingwei, one of the Five Unmatches of the World, indeed extraordinary. A younger man whose skills almost rival my own!”

Wanyan Hongsheng was somewhat older than Nalan Jingwei, so naturally, Nalan Jingwei could be considered his junior. He said this matter-of-factly.

”So it’s the elder of the Wanyan Family.” Nalan Jingwei squinted slightly, glancing at the Executioner Scholar, realizing the support from behind him was from the Wanyan Family. No wonder the Executioner Scholar was insincere in their cooperation; the Wanyan Family’s strength was indeed superior to the Nalan Family’s.

”If you two are looking for the Gold Silk Armor, coming to us is pointless,” Nalan Jingwei said, ”We did manage to seize the Gold Silk Armor earlier, but I was attacked by several Japanese ninjas. The Gold Silk Armor and Ye Jun and Wen’er were also taken by them. If you two want the Gold Silk Armor, you should pursue them quickly; you might catch up!”

Nalan Jingwei was severely injured and had given up on the Gold Silk Armor. Now, he just wanted to use it to lead the two Wanyan Family members away, as their presence made him uneasy.

”Ha ha, we have no interest in the Gold Silk Armor,” Wanyan Hongsheng smiled slightly, slowly walking up to Nalan Jingwei, ”The Nalan Family is said to be descendants of the Imperial Family, like us Wanyan Family. Since we are both of imperial descent, we must have common ground. Brother Nalan, would you be interested in discussing some royal etiquette with us?”

Nalan Jingwei’s expression changed. He understood what Wanyan Hongsheng meant by ”discussing etiquette” - in plain terms, it meant they wanted to capture him. These two people were plotting against him. This was a troublesome matter; after all, Nalan Jingwei was the head of the Nalan Family. If he were captured by the Wanyan Family, wouldn’t the Nalan Family be leaderless? Moreover, the Wanyan Family must have no good intentions for capturing him!

However, in this situation, Nalan Jingwei had no strength to resist. He was seriously injured, and any one of these three people before him could easily kill him. Judging by Executioner Scholar’s demeanor, he certainly wouldn’t help him, so this time he simply had no way to escape.

After pondering for a moment, Nalan Jingwei still couldn’t figure out a way to escape, so he could only nod and say, ”Since the senior invites, how can the junior refuse? However, about this Gold Silk Armor...”

”There’s no need to worry about the Gold Silk Armor. What belongs to us will always belong to us. What doesn’t belong to us is useless to seize!” Wanyan Hongsheng smiled, softly clapping his hands, and immediately two more people emerged from the woods.

”You two, assist Nalan Brothers out. Remember, Nalan Brothers are also descendants of the Imperial Family and one of the Five Unmatches of the World, so don’t neglect Nalan Brothers!” Wanyan Hongsheng instructed the two men.

Nalan Jingwei could only smile bitterly in his heart. Wanyan Hongsheng’s words sounded nice, but plainly speaking, he was just telling these two people that he was important and they must watch him closely. Judging by these two people’s capabilities, they were both Peak Masters. Let alone now that Nalan Jingwei was seriously injured, even if he weren’t injured, escaping from these two would require considerable effort.

The two approached, and Nalan Jingwei simply didn’t resist, allowing them to support him. Since he couldn’t run, and he couldn’t fight back, he might as well go with the Wanyan Family and see what tricks they were up to.

After having the two men take Nalan Jingwei away, Wanyan Hongsheng then turned to look at the Executioner Scholar. He sized up the Executioner Scholar with a cold smile and said, ”Executioner Scholar, we agreed to work together. But it seems you don’t treat the Wanyan Family as allies, do you?”

Upon hearing Wanyan Hongsheng’s words, Executioner Scholar frowned deeply. Although he felt somewhat anxious, since he was able to betray the Sword Saint Sect, it showed that this person was rebellious and unruly, and would not be easily humiliated by others.

”We agreed to collaborate, but when my three brothers perished in battle, where were the Wanyan Family’s people?” Executioner Scholar said in a low voice.

”What does their death have to do with us?” Wanyan Hongsheng frowned, feeling a bit displeased as well. This Executioner Scholar was just being unreasonable.

Executioner Scholar was just about to speak when Wanyan Second Master suddenly intervened in a deep voice, ”What’s the use of saying such nonsense? Executioner Scholar, as I said before, you help the Wanyan Family, we’ll help extend your life. Also, if you want revenge, we can help, as long as you’re willing to work with us!”

”Revenge?” Executioner Scholar frowned, staring at Wanyan Second Master, and asked in a low voice, ”Do you know who my enemy is?”

”Isn’t it Fu Qingping!” Wanyan Second Master responded coldly, ”In just a few days, we’ll kill him.”

”You can kill him?” Executioner Scholar’s eyes flashed with a sharp light as he asked in a low voice, ”How will you kill him?”

”Stop with the nonsense. I just ask, will you cooperate with us or not!” Wanyan Second Master asked in a deep voice.

Executioner Scholar pondered for a moment, glanced at Wanyan Hongsheng, then at Wanyan Second Master, and said in a deep voice, ”I can cooperate, but there are two conditions. First, you help me extend my life. Second, you help me kill my enemy!”

”No problem!” Wanyan Second Master nodded immediately, without any hesitation.

However, a sly glint flashed in Executioner Scholar’s eyes. He had just said he wanted his enemy killed, but he didn’t specify Fu Qingping. Because, to him, Fu Qingping wasn’t his enemy; his real enemies were the people of the Sword Saint Sect. But Wanyan Second Master hadn’t noticed the loophole in Executioner Scholar’s words. Or rather, Wanyan Second Master simply didn’t care about the conditions Executioner Scholar proposed. Because, once the Wanyan Family controlled Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, who would still be qualified to negotiate terms with them?

Having received Wanyan Second Master’s response, Executioner Scholar felt slightly more at ease. He looked at both Wanyan Hongsheng and Wanyan Second Master, and said, ”By the way, are you really not going after the Gold Silk Armor?”
