The Great Elder’s words immediately made everyone widen their eyes, especially the Seventh Elder. He had already contacted the people of the Wanyan Family and knew their analysis. Therefore, he knew the Great Elder’s words were correct—all of this was being manipulated by Ye Qing. But how did the Great Elder know about this?

Before the Seventh Elder could speak, someone helped him ask the question—it was the Third Elder. He looked at the Great Elder in surprise and asked, ”Great Elder, do you mean Ye Qing is manipulating this situation? Impossible, isn’t it? According to my information, Ye Qing has already gone to the Capital with Fu Qingping to exchange hostages and is not in Shenchuan City at all. Even if he wants to manipulate things, what can he do? Fu Qingping isn’t here, and the people on our side in Shenchuan City aren’t even a match for us!”

”Humph, Ye Qing went to the Capital, does that mean he can’t come back?” The Great Elder glanced at the Third Elder and said, ”Taking a plane from the Capital to Shenchuan City takes only about two or three hours. In these two or three hours, we simply can’t find the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, let alone open it!”

”By the time he returns, we will have left Shenchuan City. Even though the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance have many informants, finding us won’t be that easy!” The Third Elder said confidently.

”They don’t necessarily need to find us...” The Great Elder smiled coldly and said, ”What if they have a tracker?”

”A tracker?” The Third Elder was taken aback, unable to grasp the situation. Many ninjas present already understood the Great Elder’s meaning.

The Seventh Elder looked at the Great Elder and said in a low voice, ”So, there’s a possibility that the two hostages have trackers on them?”

”Not on those two hostages, but on Wen’er.” The Great Elder nodded and said, ”Since Ye Qing dared to let Wen’er wear the Gold Silk Armor to exchange for his brother, he could not have left things to chance. Therefore, Wen’er must have a tracker to ensure Ye Qing can find her.”

”In that case, let’s destroy the tracker on Wen’er!” The Third Elder said as he turned toward the inner room.

”Stop!” The Great Elder halted the Third Elder, saying sternly, ”If we were going to destroy it, I would have done so long ago. Do you think it’s your turn?”

”Then...” The Third Elder looked at the Great Elder in surprise, not understanding his intention. Knowing that Wen’er had a tracker but not dealing with it meant waiting for Ye Qing to come after them.

”Don’t forget, Ye Qing is the only one who knows the whereabouts of the Buddha’s Relic!” The Great Elder looked at everyone and remarked coldly, ”If we capture such a person, it’s not just about gaining the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master!”

”But, Great Elder, Ye Qing has Fu Qingping following him.” A ninja said in a low voice, ”Fu Qingping’s strength is immensely strong. Last time on Beimang Mountain, he killed eight Peak Masters with three sword strikes, and Nalan Jingwei, Executioner Scholar, and the Cathedral Grand Master were all severely injured. Had Fu Qingping not spared them, they might have died on Beimang Mountain. Fu Qingping is impossible for us to deal with!”

The other ninjas also looked at the Great Elder with the same gaze. After the last battle on Beimang Mountain, Fu Qingping became famous worldwide. Not only were the people of Huaxia shocked by Fu Qingping’s strength, but even hearing the name Fu Qingping made Japanese ninjas tremble. These ninjas dared not confront Fu Qingping.

”Fu Qingping’s strength is indeed strong, but without absolute certainty, would I dare to take them on?” The Great Elder smiled coldly and said, ”You need not worry about these things. I have arrangements. The upcoming matters are simple; just pretend nothing happened and continue searching for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master.”

The Great Elder only said half of what he had to say, causing the Seventh Elder next to him to feel anxious. He didn’t know what the Great Elder’s so-called arrangements were. After all, the Wanyan Family is also involved in this matter. If the Great Elder’s arrangements could even deal with Fu Qingping, wouldn’t the Wanyan Family be in danger too?

”But if Ye Qing brings Fu Qingping to kill us, won’t it mean giving the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master to them even if we find it?” The Seventh Elder quickly said, trying to extract more information from the Great Elder.

Everyone else looked at the Great Elder as well. Although the Great Elder said there were arrangements, curiosity was inescapable.

The Great Elder squinted slightly at the Seventh Elder and said, ”I have arrangements; you won’t need to worry at all. You’ll understand when the time comes. No need to ask more now!”

”But...” The Seventh Elder wanted to speak, but the Great Elder’s expression suddenly turned cold, and he said sternly, ”Old Qi, you’re talking too much!”

The Seventh Elder shivered internally, realizing indeed, he had asked too much. The Great Elder’s unwillingness to speak surely meant it was secretive. Continuing to ask would not only yield nothing but also arouse the Great Elder’s suspicion, which wasn’t worth the risk. Therefore, he dared not ask more and only considered giving some hints to the Wanyan Family. Otherwise, if the Great Elder had any arrangement, wouldn’t the people of the Wanyan Family be in danger?

————————————————————————————————————————————

As the Great Elder had predicted, during the night, Ye Qing and Fu Qingping returned from the Capital to Shenchuan City. Upon arriving in Shenchuan City, Ye Qing received news that Ye Jun had been sent back.

Ye Qing first went to see Ye Jun, who was not physically hurt but was still unconscious. With Bai Li Xi by his side, Ye Qing did not need to worry about Ye Jun’s safety; he entrusted Ye Jun’s care to Bai Li Xi. Ye Qing then summoned intelligence personnel from the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance to inquire about the specific happenings.

Although the Seven Steering Committees had many personnel, they could not obtain the intelligence of these Peak Masters. They only knew that the Great Lord took Ye Jun and Wen’er out and encountered an ambush, during which one Peak Master died, and the Great Lord lost the Gold Silk Armor and the two hostages. However, they did not know who ultimately acquired the Gold Silk Armor and hostages.

In fact, Ye Jun didn’t know about this at all. After being ambushed on the road, he was knocked unconscious and hadn’t awakened till now. So, he knew nothing about what happened afterward.

However, Ye Qing didn’t need to know much. After all, he had placed a micro-positioning device on Wen’er, making it easy to find her. What he needed to ascertain was who currently had Wen’er—were the Japanese ninjas involved? Because this was crucial to Ye Qing’s plan; he wanted not only to rescue Ye Jun but also to help Wen’er save her mother and even use the Japanese ninjas to open the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. After all, the only ones with knowledge of how to open the Tomb are the Japanese ninjas; Ye Qing must utilize their assistance to unlock it.

Zhao Chengshuang lent Ye Qing a group of tracking experts, who had long since identified Wen’er’s location using their devices. Thus, Ye Qing now knew Wen’er’s whereabouts. However, he did not act immediately but instead dispatched people to search symbolically, to mislead the Japanese ninjas. As for when he would act, it depended on when the Japanese ninjas would start searching for the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master.

Using the Gold Silk Armor to locate the Tomb requires waiting for Half-Moon Night, which hadn’t yet arrived. Hence, Ye Qing found himself surprisingly free during these days.

He continued letting those people track Wen’er’s location while contacting Jiuchuan County to have Lin Mengjie bring Old Fifth Yang to Shenchuan City for Bai Li Xi’s treatment. Meanwhile, Ye Qing also had Lin Mengjie bring his family over. After these successive events, Ye Qing realized that the involvement of the Church and Japanese ninjas meant some Huaxia rules no longer applied, so his family wasn’t entirely safe. Thus, he chose to keep his family in Shenchuan City’s base to be more at ease. Otherwise, if someone seized his father to blackmail him, wouldn’t it be troublesome?

Having arranged everything, it was late at night. Ye Qing returned to his residence and upon entering the hall, he saw a person sitting cross-legged in the dark. This sight made Ye Qing pause—who would sit in such a posture at night?

Upon closer inspection, the cross-legged person was actually Liu Mubai. His eyes were slightly closed, sitting cross-legged with his hands twisted in a bizarre posture on his shoulders, his body seemingly enveloped in a black aura, giving him an eerie and peculiar appearance.

”Big Brother Liu, why... why did you get up?” Ye Qing asked curiously, knowing that Liu Mubai’s heart was damaged, confining him to bed, unable to perform large movements. How come he was up now? And sitting cross-legged in the living room in such an odd stance, what was he doing?

Hearing the voice, Liu Mubai opened his eyes and looked at Ye Qing, also surprised, ”Ye Zi, when did you get back?”

Ye Qing had been busy upon returning from the Capital, not having visited his residence yet, so Liu Mubai didn’t know Ye Qing was back.

”I’ve been back for a while. You... what are you doing?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled, ”How is your injury? Didn’t Mr. Bai Li recommend that you avoid moving?”

Upon hearing Ye Qing’s words, Liu Mubai’s lips curled into a faint smile. He looked at Ye Qing and said, ”I’m practicing my skills!”

Ye Qing: ”Practicing skills? Practicing what skills?”

”See.” Liu Mubai pointed to a book in front of him. Ye Qing looked carefully—it was the Indestructible Demon Body book he had given Liu Mubai!
