Urban Martial Saint

After administering more than twenty needles, Bai Li Xi suddenly turned to Old Fifth Yang’s head, placed his hand on the top of Old Fifth Yang’s head, and said to the man, ”Come on, one more needle here, take the thickest and longest one!”

The man took out the longest needle from the acupuncture bag, and everyone stared at the needle, almost popping their eyes out. It was like a little dagger, if it pierced into the head, wouldn’t it be life-threatening?

Holding the silver needle, the man was stunned himself. He looked at the position Bai Li Xi was pressing and then at Old Fifth Yang, and said in a low voice, ”Mr. Bai Li, this... such a big needle, pierce it into the head?”

”What are you babbling about, hurry up and pierce it!” Bai Li Xi glared, ”I told you to pierce it, what are you afraid of? If something goes wrong, I’ll take responsibility!”

”This... this...” The man was still hesitant, but after all, he was a member of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance, and had naturally witnessed Bai Li Xi’s miraculous medical skills. With Bai Li Xi’s medical expertise, he certainly wouldn’t be lying. Yet, with such a big needle piercing the head, could Old Fifth Yang still survive?

Hesitating, the man walked to the bedside and was about to extend the silver needle towards Old Fifth Yang’s head, when Doctor Wu could no longer hold back. He walked straight out from the crowd and shouted, ”Enough, enough, how long are you going to mess around? This is a patient, not a corpse, do you really want to kill him?”

Doctor Wu originally wanted to wait and see Bai Li Xi’s joke, but with Bai Li Xi taking out such a big needle to insert into Old Fifth Yang’s head, he couldn’t hold back. No matter what, he was also a doctor, he certainly couldn’t watch Bai Li Xi torment Old Fifth Yang to death.

”Who said I wanted to kill him? I’m treating him!” Bai Li Xi said.

”Treating? This is just superstition!” Doctor Wu said angrily, ”Inserting such a big needle into the head, you call this treatment? This is murder.”

”How is this murder?” Bai Li Xi retorted angrily.

”Nonsense!” Doctor Wu said, ”The head is a vital area, can it be casually meddled with? Any slight damage poses a life risk. Now you’re sticking such a big needle into the head, Boss Yang might die right here. If this isn’t murder, what is?”

Bai Li Xi said, ”What do you know, this needle is inserted along the bone suture. As long as it’s inserted according to my direction, it won’t damage his brain tissue a bit. On the contrary, this needle can stimulate his life potential, and by his resistance, expel the illness.”

Doctor Wu had, of course, never heard of such things, and after listening to Bai Li Xi, he was utterly confused, not understanding a word. However, looking at the glaring silver needle, he resolutely said, ”Stop your nonsense, I’m telling you, Boss Yang is my patient, and I’m responsible for him. Although Boss Yang is critically ill now and won’t live long, I can’t let you torment him like this. I don’t know where you came from, Rivers and Lakes Sorcerer, or how you got here to cheat money. But human life is at stake, I hope you take it seriously. It’s okay if you can’t cure the illness, but you can’t push the patient to a dead end!”

Hearing Doctor Wu’s words, Ye Qing slowly nodded. Although Doctor Wu seemed a bit arrogant, as a doctor, he was quite responsible, at least caring for the patient’s safety, which was not easy. Looking at Doctor Wu also reminded Ye Qing of Lin Tianyou. At least in terms of being serious about patients, Doctor Wu and Lin Tianyou were quite similar.

Bai Li Xi ignored Doctor Wu and directly urged the man, ”Quickly, insert the silver needle, what are you dawdling about?”

The man looked at Doctor Wu, then at Bai Li Xi, and said in a low voice, ”Mr. Bai Li, head injuries are really dangerous. Inside the head, it’s all brain matter, it can’t be meddled with casually. With this needle, even if he doesn’t die, if it damages the brain matter, he could become a fool. You see, should we think it over?”

”Think, my foot, why is it so difficult to get you to help?” Bai Li Xi said, ”Stop talking nonsense, just stick it in for me!”

”Don’t insert it!” Doctor Wu shouted, ”This is murder, I’m telling you, if you persist, don’t blame me for calling the police!”

As Doctor Wu spoke, he really pulled out his phone, posing as if he was going to call the police.

Calling the police might scare others, but how many of the people in this room were scared? However, everyone was a bit uneasy seeing the man holding the glaring silver needle. Although most people believed in Bai Li Xi’s medical skills, sticking such a long needle into the brain—was it treating or killing?

The man in the middle was in the most difficult position. He believed in Bai Li Xi’s medical skills, but sticking such a big needle into the brain, how could Old Fifth Yang survive? So he was the most conflicted at this moment, not knowing what to do, and could only helplessly look at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing said in a low voice, ”Mr. Bai Li, is there no other way? Must this needle be inserted into the brain?”

”As for other methods, didn’t I mention earlier that he needs to take three packets of medicine? But, we made a bet with this kid, and to get results quickly, I’ve used this method.” Bai Li Xi pointed at the silver needle and said, ”Just inserting this needle is almost enough. With my medicine to adjust his condition, his symptoms should ease in less than three hours.”

”Don’t talk nonsense. If this needle is inserted into his brain, how could Boss Yang survive?” Doctor Wu looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Mr. Ye, don’t believe such absurdities from these Rivers and Lakes Sorcerers. This is a matter of life and death, how can you let him mess around like this?”

”How is this messing around?”

”How is it not messing around?”

The two started arguing again, but at this moment, Old Fifth Yang, who had been biting his lip without speaking, finally couldn’t hold back. He shouted loudly, ”Stop arguing!”

The sudden shout had a kind of desperate feeling to it, causing the two arguing individuals to immediately stop. Everyone looked at Old Fifth Yang, whose clothes were almost soaked with sweat, and his facial muscles were twisted, his face looking almost grim. It was no wonder—the needles inserted into his body were causing pain almost beyond his threshold, and the fact that he could still sit there was almost a miracle.

”Either treat me or pull these needles out. Are you trying to torture me to death?” Old Fifth Yang said angrily, unable to endure all the needles in his body.

Everyone exchanged glances; weren’t they just discussing whether to continue the treatment? Doctor Wu was the first to react, and he walked over directly, saying, ”Here, let me remove these needles from your body. It’s just ridiculous!”

”Don’t pull them out!” Bai Li Xi quickly said, ”Do you want him to fail completely? Let me tell you, all his life potential is now concentrated in his brain; the silver needle must stimulate his potential. Pulling these needles out now will only cause his body functions to become chaotic, and even if he doesn’t die, he’ll become disabled!”

These words caused Doctor Wu to hesitate; his hand, which had reached out, didn’t dare to move further. Though he didn’t believe Bai Li Xi, he also couldn’t bear this responsibility. If Bai Li Xi’s words were true, and pulling out these needles turned Old Fifth Yang into a cripple, how would this matter be handled?

”You… are you still trying to deceive me?” Doctor Wu looked at Bai Li Xi and said, ”What you’re saying has no scientific basis at all. I’ve studied medicine for so many years and never heard of such life potential talk; you’re just talking nonsense!”

”I can’t be bothered to argue with you.” Bai Li Xi went straight to the man and snatched the silver needle from his hand, saying, ”You can’t even handle a simple task, whatever, I’ll find someone else.”

Holding the silver needle, Bai Li Xi looked around at everyone and said, ”Is there anyone who can help me insert this needle into his brain? It requires a martial artist capable of internal energy release, using inner strength to pierce in the needle. Without inner strength, the hardness of the silver needle simply can’t pierce through the scalp!”

Everyone looked at the gleaming silver needle and naturally no one dared to step forward. Actually, Ye Qing trusts Bai Li Xi, after all, Bai Li Xi managed to save Liu Mubai despite his heart damage, and Ye Qing is very familiar with Bai Li Xi’s medical skills. However, Ye Qing himself doesn’t have inner strength and simply can’t do this task.

Seeing no one step forward, Bai Li Xi anxiously asked, ”Is there anyone willing to help at all?”

Still no response; who would want to take on this responsibility? After all, the silver needle looked really frightening.

”Don’t be fooled by him, if someone inserts this needle into Boss Yang’s body, and something happens, can you bear that responsibility?” Doctor Wu said loudly, which further discouraged everyone from helping Bai Li Xi.

”Damn, you really don’t trust me?” Bai Li Xi said furiously; it was the first time his medical skills were questioned.

”I’ll do it.” At this moment, a deep voice suddenly came from the crowd. The people turned to look, only to see Liu Mubai standing at the back for some time. It was Liu Mubai who had said those words.

Few people knew the specifics of Liu Mubai’s injury, so when he was able to get on his feet these days, people weren’t very astonished. What truly shocked those who knew about his condition, was why Liu Mubai could stand and walk so soon, especially Bai Li Xi, who had been curious about what kind of martial arts Liu Mubai practiced to recover so quickly.

Now, Liu Mubai had surprisingly come to the hall. Seeing Liu Mubai step forward, both Ye Qing and Bai Li Xi showed some concern, Ye Qing whispered, ”Big Brother Liu, your body can’t handle large movements now. Using the silver needle requires internal energy operation, which might worsen your injury!”

”It’s fine. I’m already capable of channeling inner strength!” Liu Mubai smiled slightly, accepted the silver needle from Bai Li Xi, and said, ”Just stimulating a needle, nothing problematic!”
