Urban Martial Saint

The police responsible for receiving Ye Qing was the director of the branch near Beimang Mountain, holding significant power in the area. Therefore, he had no difficulty in gathering a team to access the surveillance. It took less than five minutes for a dozen police officers to arrive, and they began checking the surrounding surveillance cameras to carefully track the Sorcerer’s whereabouts.

Ye Qing stood by, also carefully watching the screen. However, the Beimang Mountain area was vast, with hundreds of surveillance cameras on the outskirts alone. Finding that Sorcerer in the surveillance was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

After observing for a while, Ye Qing suddenly recalled something and quickly went out to the yard to call Yin Xianzi, intending to update her on the situation here.

But, unexpectedly, the phone call showed an unreachable status, which surprised Ye Qing. He tried several more times, but each time the result was the same—it was always unreachable.

What happened on Yin Xianzi’s side? Why couldn’t he get through?

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing suddenly jumped up and rushed into the surveillance room, urgently saying, ”Wait a minute, can anyone help me check the airport surveillance first?”

Everyone was busy checking the surveillance of the Beimang Mountain area to find the Sorcerer, and hearing Ye Qing’s request, they were taken aback. The director was the first to react, directing the officer closest to Ye Qing to check the airport surveillance.

”Mr. Ye, which time period of the surveillance do you need?” the director asked, standing by.

Ye Qing replied, ”Just the surveillance after I got off the plane.”

”Alright, please wait a moment.” The director instructed the officer to retrieve the surveillance, and within a minute, they found Ye Qing on the screen, along with Yin Xianzi who was with him at the time.

”That’s her!” Seeing Yin Xianzi, Ye Qing immediately pointed at her and said urgently, ”Track her and see where she went last!”

The officer switched through several surveillance cameras, continuously tracking Yin Xianzi until she reached outside Beimang Mountain.

Ye Qing watched the video carefully. The place Yin Xianzi reached was surprisingly the same location where the Sorcerer entered the Beimang Mountain, though the time they arrived was different, with almost an hour between them.

”Why is it still here?” the director beside him muttered in surprise. Normally, few people entered Beimang Mountain. Seeing two people head there today greatly shocked him.

Yin Xianzi lingered outside Beimang Mountain for about five minutes before suddenly taking out her phone, turning it off, and throwing it into the nearby grass before walking straight into Beimang Mountain.

Seeing this, Ye Qing’s face changed drastically. He finally understood why he couldn’t reach Yin Xianzi’s phone. She had already entered Beimang Mountain!

”Why didn’t she wait for me?” Ye Qing frowned deeply, filled with doubt.

Firstly, Yin Xianzi and the Sorcerer choosing the same spot to enter Beimang Mountain was already strange. She couldn’t have been following the Sorcerer, so Ye Qing had a hunch that the location must have some special significance. Yin Xianzi was certainly hiding something from him. Moreover, her suggestion of splitting up was most likely an excuse to separate from Ye Qing so she could enter Beimang Mountain alone!

Although he didn’t know why Yin Xianzi did this, seeing her enter Beimang Mountain alone made Ye Qing anxious. Yin Xianzi had mentioned how dangerous the inside of Beimang Mountain was. Now she was inside alone, it was certainly perilous for her. Though Ye Qing and Yin Xianzi couldn’t quite be called friends, they had fought side by side for several days, and Yin Xianzi had saved Ye Qing’s life multiple times. He couldn’t possibly watch idly as she ventured into danger alone.

The police chief didn’t know what Ye Qing was thinking. Seeing Yin Xianzi also enter Beimang Mountain, he was clearly disheartened. He had already mobilized many people and monitored to search for that Sorcerer, but so much time had passed with no traces found. Now another woman entered, and if Ye Qing asked them to find her too, even if every officer in the station put their work aside to focus on this, it wouldn’t be enough.

”Mr. Ye, do you want us to find her too?” the chief asked cautiously.

”No need!” Ye Qing replied.

This relieved the chief. Luckily, they didn’t need to find her, or else they’d be extremely busy.

Ye Qing continued, ”However, I’d appreciate it if you could keep an eye on the man who just went in. If you find him, call me immediately!”

”No problem...” the chief paused, then asked, ”Mr. Ye, are you...going out?”

Ye Qing looked at the screen showing the entrance to Beimang Mountain, slowly nodded, and said, ”Can you send someone to take me there first?”

”Huh?” The chief froze, ”Mr. Ye, you’re...going into Beimang Mountain too?”

Ye Qing slowly nodded. Despite the dangers of Beimang Mountain, he had to go in, as he owed Ding Lianshun, and also owed Yin Xianzi.

”But there are wild beasts inside Beimang Mountain!” the chief said urgently, ”The forest has long been sealed. Deep inside, there are wild animals like tigers and leopards, and there have been frequent injury incidents in the past. Mr. Ye, it’s very dangerous to enter Beimang Mountain!”

Ye Qing was well aware that the so-called wild beasts in Beimang Mountain were not ordinary. Given how long the mountain had been sealed, it wasn’t a surprise that it housed beasts. However, for Ye Qing now, the real danger wasn’t the beasts, but the Devouring Demon Flower inside the mountain.

He looked at the chief and said, ”Please keep an eye on the surveillance. Whether it’s the woman just now or the man before, call me as soon as anyone leaves Beimang Mountain!”

”No problem!” The chief straightened up and said, ”But Mr. Ye, when it comes to going into the mountain, we’re...we’re afraid we can’t help much.”

”That’s fine. I know what I’m doing!” Ye Qing gripped the Wu Hong Dagger tightly. Although Yin Xianzi said the dagger was useless against the Devouring Demon Flower, he had no other option. It was his only reliance now.

If the Seven-Star Ancient Sword was still here, he wondered if it could cut through the Devouring Demon Flower.

At the same time, along the road into Beimang Mountain, Yin Xianzi walked leisurely. Although she had entered Beimang Mountain, she wasn’t rushing to chase but rather walked slowly along the narrow path.

If Ye Qing saw Yin Xianzi like this, he’d be extremely surprised. One would think she separated from him and entered Beimang Mountain alone to hurriedly chase the Sorcerer. But who would have thought she’d casually stroll here like she’s not here to kill for revenge, but rather to tour around?

Inside Beimang Mountain, it was clear that no one had ventured in for a long time. Outside, it was tolerable, with overgrown weeds and no roads; to go uphill required walking through grassy and bushy areas. The deeper in, the denser the forest became, making paths scarcer. Eventually, Yin Xianzi fully entered an Ancient Forest, surrounded by towering ancient trees that soared into the sky. Though it was winter, most trees had shed their leaves and only the branches remained. Yet, the ancient trees blocked out the sunlight, rendering the surroundings dark. Amid this darkness, the branches resembled monstrous tentacles, crisscrossing and adding to the forest’s terror.

Had it been someone else, walking through this dense forest would surely cause panic. But Yin Xianzi remained calm, treading the thick carpet of fallen leaves without a hint of fear. On the contrary, she seemed to be carefully observing her surroundings, as if searching for something.

Meanwhile, the chief personally drove Ye Qing to the location shown on the video, where both the Sorcerer and Yin Xianzi had entered Beimang Mountain. If Ye Qing intended to pursue them, he had to start from this spot.

”Mr. Ye, are you sure you want to go into the mountain?” The chief attempted to dissuade Ye Qing. Being familiar with Beimang Mountain, he knew well how dangerous it was inside.

Ye Qing nodded calmly. Before entering the mountain, he hesitated briefly, turned to the chief, and said, ”If I’m not out in three days, please relay my message to Li Lianshan and Zhao Chengshuang in Shenchuan City. Ask them to help me find Ye Jun and Huangfu Ziyu!”

”Huh?” The chief was taken aback, not understanding what Ye Qing meant. Ye Qing’s words sounded like he was preparing for the worst. It was odd—if he knew how dangerous it was inside Beimang Mountain, why would he insist on going in? Were those two people just too important?

Without lingering further, Ye Qing strode directly into Beimang Mountain.

Although there weren’t paths inside, Ye Qing didn’t intend to find one. He simply walked in one direction, continuously moving forward. He didn’t know where the Sorcerer and Yin Xianzi went, but since both chose to enter from this spot, there must be something special about this location. Following this direction was Ye Qing’s only option.

Like Yin Xianzi, Ye Qing walked for over an hour, also entering a dense forest. Surrounded by towering ancient trees, their branches blocked out the sky, plunging the forest into darkness. Anyone with poor eyesight walking here might struggle to see the ground.

Ye Qing was relatively better off, able to see his surroundings clearly as he walked through the forest. But the intermittent sounds of beast calls from around him made the forest seem less peaceful.
