Urban Martial Saint

Hearing Zou Huanglong’s words, Xiao Xie didn’t seem particularly excited or moved; he simply nodded towards Ye Qing and said, ”Hello, Mr. Ye.”

From Xiao Xie’s tone, it was still quite low; it seemed that he didn’t particularly trust Ye Qing.

”Xiao Xie, don’t be like this!” Zou Huanglong said anxiously, ”Mr. Ye truly has the skills, unlike those fake masters you’ve sought before. Mr. Ye can definitely cure your son!”

Hearing Zou Huanglong say this, Ye Qing finally understood why Xiao Xie had such an attitude. It seemed he had been deceived by fake special ability masters before. Evidently, this Xiao Xie had gone through quite a lot for his son.

”Sigh!” Xiao Xie sighed and said, ”Old Zou, I do believe what you say. But I just can’t find joy in my heart. Mr. Ye, I apologize for the lack of hospitality, I hope you can forgive me!”

”It’s fine, no need to be formal.” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”Mr. Xie, could you first take me to see your son?”

”Yes, let Mr. Ye go see the child first!” As Zou Huanglong said this, he was about to head inside, but was directly stopped by Xiao Xie.

”Old Zou, right now... it’s not convenient,” Xiao Xie said, somewhat embarrassed.

”What’s not convenient?” Zou Huanglong asked in surprise, ”When it comes to seeing the child, what’s the inconvenience?”

Xiao Xie said, ”It’s not that, there... right now, there’s already someone treating the child inside...”

”Someone treating the illness?” Zou Huanglong’s eyes widened, ”Who is it? Did you bring in another so-called expert? Xiao Xie, how much have you been scammed already, and you’re still falling for it.”

Xiao Xie sighed and said, ”Regardless of whether they’re scammers, as long as there’s a glimmer of hope, I absolutely have to try.”

Zou Huanglong said, ”Ah, what use is it letting those people try. I’m telling you, Mr. Ye truly has the skills; get those people inside to leave, and let Mr. Ye treat the child’s illness directly!”

”Old Zou, don’t rush,” Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”To be honest, I haven’t seen nor even heard of the illness Mr. Xie’s son has. It’s really uncertain whether I can cure it. If there are people inside, let them try first; maybe they can heal the child. If not, I’ll go in.”

Hearing Ye Qing say this, Zou Huanglong didn’t persist any longer. Xiao Xie then bowed to Ye Qing and said, ”Mr. Ye, thank you for understanding.”

”It’s nothing, no need for thanks.” Ye Qing sat on the sofa, also observing the surroundings of the room. It was evident that this villa was quite well-decorated before, but it had now become quite rundown, probably because the family hadn’t tidied up in a long time. Moreover, there was a faint fishy smell in the room, no idea what caused it.

After sitting for a while, another car drove into the yard; it was Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun.

Seeing these two, Zou Huanglong quickly stood up and said, ”I’ll invite them in.”

”No need,” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”It’s inconvenient for them to come in.”

Zou Huanglong looked at Ye Qing, suddenly slapped his forehead and said, ”That’s right, I forgot, the three of you can’t get too close. Mr. Ye, I’m really sorry!”

”It’s fine!” Ye Qing smiled, looking at the two outside the door, while internally pondering the cases in the Acupoint Seeking Technique that might relate to the child’s illness.

In fact, after hearing Zou Huanglong describe the child’s condition, Ye Qing had been pondering this matter in his mind. But after thinking of all the cases in the Acupoint Seeking Technique, none matched this condition. It was clear the child’s illness was truly rare and peculiar. So even Ye Qing was uncertain whether he could cure it.

But since Ye Qing was aware of this matter, he was determined to try regardless.

After sitting outside for about five minutes, amid Ye Qing’s continuous pondering, a shout suddenly came from the yard. Ye Qing quickly stood up and turned his head to see that Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun had disappeared, with no trace of where they’d gone.

”Old Zou, could you please go check outside,” Ye Qing quickly reached for the explosive cord inside his clothes, worried that Ding Lianshun and Yin Xianzi were trying to lure him out, hence being extra cautious.

Zou Huanglong quickly ran outside, glanced around, and asked the driver outside, ”What just happened?”

A driver quickly said, ”Just now, two monks suddenly appeared out of nowhere and... and started fighting with that man and woman. Then, the man and woman followed those monks, and they ran away really fast, disappearing in a blink of an eye!”

Inside, Ye Qing’s expression changed upon hearing this. The capabilities of Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun meant few could match them. For the two monks who appeared to be able to fight with Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun, it indicated their abilities were not weak, but what was the identity of these two monks?

The first thought Ye Qing had was the monks from the Brahmanism, but after thinking it over, only the Purple Robe Lama from the Brahmanism could contend with Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun, and others didn’t have that ability. But earlier, it was two monks who came; definitely not from the Brahmanism. So, who were the ones who took action?

As Ye Qing was pondering, Xiao Xie suddenly jumped up and ran directly into the inner room. Not long after, he suddenly ran out again and said anxiously, ”Oh no, the two monks and a Taoist who were treating my son earlier have disappeared!”

”Two monks?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened instantly. Could it be that the two monks who were treating the child inside just now were the same ones who ambushed Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun outside earlier? If that’s the case, then these people Xiao Xie found aren’t just Jianghu swindlers.

After a moment of hesitation, Ye Qing immediately rushed into the room. He wanted to see if the two monks had left any traces there.

As he entered the room, Ye Qing noticeably smelled a heavier stench in the air. On the sickbed, a skinny child was lying down, holding and munching on a large steamed bun. Judging by how he was wolfing it down, it seemed like he hadn’t eaten in a long time. However, even eating so much, he still looked this thin; it was no wonder it worried people.

In the room, there was also a woman in her early thirties, sitting by the bed with tears in her eyes. She appeared to be Xiao Xie’s wife, the child’s mother.

”Mr. Ye...” Xiao Xie also followed in from outside, looking around at the situation inside the room. Helplessly, he turned to Ye Qing and said, ”Mr. Ye, the two monks and the Taoist are gone. Could you... could you please help take a look at my child’s condition?”

”Alright!” Ye Qing nodded. Seeing the child’s state, he lost interest in pursuing the matter of the two monks and the Taoist.

Just as Ye Qing moved to the bedside, the woman suddenly turned her head to Ye Qing and asked, ”Are you... is your surname Ye?”

Ye Qing paused for a moment, seeing the woman’s expression as if she recognized him. What was going on?

”My surname is Ye.” Ye Qing replied.

”Are you called Ye Qing?” the woman asked again.

”How do you know?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask. Earlier, Xiao Xie referred to him as Mr. Ye upon entering, so the woman knowing his surname was normal. But Xiao Xie hadn’t mentioned his given name, so how did she know it?

”Are you really Mr. Ye Qing?” The woman seemed suddenly energized, quickly standing up and looking nervously at Ye Qing, asking, ”Really... is it really?”

”Do you know me?” Ye Qing was even more surprised. Beside him, Xiao Xie also wore a look of astonishment, saying, ”Yu Qiong, what’s wrong? Do you know Mr. Ye?”

”I... I don’t know Mr. Ye...” The woman shook her head and said, ”But the Taoist earlier said that soon, someone named Ye Qing would come in, and he... he could save our son!”

”What!?” Ye Qing and Xiao Xie both exclaimed in surprise, especially Ye Qing, who was completely stunned.

Which Taoist said that? How did he know Ye Qing would come in? How did he know Ye Qing could save this child? Most crucially, how did this Taoist know Ye Qing’s name?

Xiao Xie widened his eyes, looking between Ye Qing and his wife, and asked shakily, ”How did the Dao Ye... how did he know... know Mr. Ye was coming? Mr. Ye was brought here by Old Zou, and he just... just arrived...”

”I don’t know either. Anyway, that’s what the Dao Ye said,” the woman shook her head, then turned to Ye Qing and pleaded urgently, ”Mr. Ye, please, please save... save my son, I beg you...”

”Don’t get excited yet!” Ye Qing quickly stopped the woman who was about to kneel and said in a deep voice, ”You said a Taoist was here just now? What did that Taoist look like?”

Xiao Xie and his wife exchanged a glance, fell silent for a moment, and Xiao Xie said in a low voice, ”This Dao Ye’s appearance... actually wasn’t very pleasant to look at, and his clothes weren’t very nice either, and he had... a middle-part hairstyle, looking kind of...”

”Did he look like a traitor?” Ye Qing asked directly.

”You know too?” Xiao Xie was instantly taken aback.

”Damn it!” Ye Qing cursed directly and said, ”Old Wang Ba, that bastard, is still hiding in the Southern Six Provinces!”

”Oh, right, I just remembered, those two monks indeed called him something like Old Wang Ba earlier,” Xiao Xie exclaimed in delight. ”Mr. Ye, you... you really know them? Then... can you save my son?”

”I’ll definitely find a way to help your son,” Ye Qing said solemnly. ”However, there’s something even more important to do right now. By the way, where did that Taoist go just now?”

”He... he jumped over the wall and left,” Xiao Xie’s wife replied.

”This wall?” Ye Qing asked, pointing to the window.
