Urban Martial Saint

Seeing the two of them like this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but chuckle silently. It seemed that these two were thoroughly captivated by him. With these two by his side, he was sure to handle all the mercenaries entering the country and thus also serve the nation.

”Alright, why don’t you two rest for a bit? I’ll step outside to have a word with the people out there. I’ll arrange the tickets for the two of you, and you can board the plane with me when the time comes.” Ye Qing smiled faintly, waved at them, and walked out of the residential house with his hands behind his back.

Outside the house, the soldiers were watching attentively. They hadn’t heard any noise from inside, so they were uncertain about what had transpired and were nervously waiting.

Suddenly, the door to the house opened, making the soldiers jump. They quickly raised their guns, aiming at the door, ready for anyone that might come out. But instead of mercenaries rushing out, it was Ye Qing who emerged with his hands raised.

”Don’t shoot, I’m one of you!” Ye Qing shouted loudly.

One person recognized Ye Qing immediately and said, ”This is the guy who went in earlier, everyone hold your fire.”

Others also recognized Ye Qing and realized he wasn’t a mercenary, allowing them to relax a bit.

”All the mercenaries have been dealt with!” Ye Qing shouted, moving sideways so that those outside could deliberately see the situation in the yard.

In the yard, all fifteen mercenaries were lying on the ground, making it clear for those outside to see the situation inside.

Seeing that the mercenaries were indeed lying on the ground, the soldiers outside became excited. At this moment, the officer from the temporary command post rushed over. Seeing the situation, he couldn’t help widening his eyes.

Although he had guessed that Ye Qing might deal with these mercenaries, he couldn’t have imagined that Ye Qing could handle all fifteen of them in such a short time. Moreover, Ye Qing didn’t have a single injury, not resembling someone who had just been in a fight. How was this possible?

Nevertheless, the mercenaries were indeed dealt with. The officer couldn’t think about anything else, nor could he care about the danger, quickly walking up and asking urgently, ”Hello, I am Fang Xiang, the officer of this temporary command post. Which military region comrade does this gentleman belong to?”

Ye Qing chuckled and approached the officer, speaking softly, ”I am from the State Security Department!”

”Ah?” The officer was momentarily stunned. Of course, he had heard of the State Security Department, but he didn’t expect the young man before him to be a member. More importantly, he couldn’t have imagined that people from the State Security Department would be able to handle this matter.

These mercenaries had crossed the border, and even the State Security Department hadn’t managed to deal with them, hence contacting the military for assistance. This matter was a tough nut for the military, and they believed it impossible for the State Security Department to solve it. Unexpectedly, the State Security Department managed to resolve these mercenaries so effortlessly, exceeding his previous understanding of the department.

”You... you are a member of the State Security Department?” Fang Xiang couldn’t help but ask.

”Do you have any doubts?” Ye Qing smiled, taking out the badge Su Kaicheng had previously given him and handing it to Fang Xiang, ”This is my proof.”

Of course, Fang Xiang didn’t recognize Ye Qing’s badge. He handed the badge to someone nearby to verify the matter. However, he personally didn’t have much doubt about Ye Qing, given the unmistakable fact that the mercenaries were now lying there.

These soldiers rushed in to take control of the entire house. Meanwhile, Fang Xiang stayed with Ye Qing, still asking how Ye Qing had dealt with the mercenaries. The military was verifying Ye Qing’s identity; as long as there were no errors, there would be no issue.

Ye Qing didn’t reveal much about his own matters, but to Fang Xiang, this gave Ye Qing an even more mystifying aura. After all, the State Security Department was already a secretive department, and such confidentiality was quite normal.

Meanwhile, Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun had already left the house before the soldiers stormed it. With their skills and abilities, they could leave from right under the soldiers’ noses without anyone noticing.

However, the two didn’t go far, stationed atop a nearby building, observing Ye Qing below. Although they were both fuming internally, they had to continue protecting Ye Qing.

”This Ye is too despicable!” Ding Lianshun said, staring at Ye Qing below and repeatedly hitting the wall next to him, venting his anger as if the wall was Ye Qing.

Yin Xianzi’s expression wasn’t much better, as she frowned and sternly said, ”The key issue now isn’t this matter; the most troubling thing is, Ye Qing is soon heading to Shangang City. What is he going there for? Could it be that he’s going to have us deal with some enemy again?”

”He wouldn’t dare!” Ding Lianshun roared angrily.

”Do you think he wouldn’t?” Yin Xianzi retorted coldly.

Ding Lianshun glared angrily, but after a moment, he slowly frowned. Ye Qing really could dare to do such a thing.

”If he really goes to seek revenge on someone else, what shall we do?” Ding Lianshun said gravely, ”Are we really going to help him deal with all his enemies?”

”I doubt these are his enemies!” Yin Xianzi said sternly, ”From what I’ve seen, those we just killed seemed to be mercenaries; this appears to be an official Huaxia matter. That Ye obviously intends to use us to eliminate some national risks!”

”That bastard, he is too insidious!” Ding Lianshun said angrily, ”I really want to kill him!”

”Saying this now is useless.” Yin Xianzi said in a serious tone, ”If it really is an official Huaxia matter, we might be in trouble. From what I know, there are at least twenty similar mercenary groups. If we continue like this, we might have to help Ye Qing take them all down!”

Ding Lianshun’s eyes widened at once, and he said anxiously, ”This... this would make us his free assassins!”

Yin Xianzi sighed, feeling frustrated herself. Originally, protecting Ye Qing wasn’t a great assignment, but now they had to help Ye Qing with so many tasks, she felt like she might explode with anger.

”No, we can’t be led by him!” Ding Lianshun said firmly, ”Call the Heavenly Master; I want to tell him about this personally. There’s over a month left, and at this rate, how many people are we going to help Ye Qing kill?”

”Forget it, better not call the Heavenly Master!” Yin Xianzi shook her head, ”This involves the legacy of Divine Doctor An Shiping, which is very important. The Heavenly Master certainly won’t allow any mishaps in between. Even if we talk to him about it, he will definitely tell us to hold our breath, and only discuss it after this period is over.”

”So, do we really have to follow Ye Qing all the time, helping him deal with his enemies?” Ding Lianshun’s voice was filled with repressed anger.

Yin Xianzi shook her head, speaking softly, ”Or we can find a way to prevent Ye Qing from running around!”

”Prevent Ye Qing from running around?” Ding Lianshun was taken aback, then said softly, ”You mean, capture him directly?”

Yin Xianzi nodded, saying, ”Capture him and keep him locked up for a month. This way, we neither have to follow him to help kill his enemies, nor worry about protecting him; this is the best solution!”

”Oh, you should’ve said so earlier!” Ding Lianshun said, ”If I’d known, I’d have trapped him long ago instead of running around like this helping him kill people!”

Yin Xianzi shrugged, saying, ”I never thought he’d be so vile, exploiting us to settle his grudges!”

”Alright, no more talking. I will go and capture him right away and lock him up!” Ding Lianshun said angrily, ”Keep him locked until the fifteenth of next month, and once Medicine King Mountain opens, I’ll kill him!”

”No hurry.” Yin Xianzi said leisurely, looking at Ye Qing below, ”Right now he has so many soldiers around him. If we rashly proceed, we might alarm him, giving him time to prepare. His skills are decent, and if he’s prepared, capturing him will be tough!”

Ding Lianshun nodded, coldly observing Ye Qing below, his eyes glinting with rage. Today’s events had filled him with limitless intent to kill Ye Qing, wishing he could go down and kill Ye Qing right now. Anyway, he had made up his mind that once this matter ended, he personally would kill Ye Qing to vent his anger!

The military quickly verified Ye Qing’s identity with the State Security Department, confirming that Ye Qing was indeed a member. With this, Fang Xiang became even warmer towards Ye Qing. Especially learning that Ye Qing was the leader of the State Security Department’s fifth team, Fang Xiang even looked at Ye Qing with admiration.

The State Security Department was a very mysterious and powerful department. A leader within it was much higher in rank than Fang Xiang’s position as officer of the temporary command post. Moreover, Fang Xiang learned that Ye Qing’s credentials allowed him to unconditionally requisition military personnel to assist him, which shocked Fang Xiang greatly. Not even senior military officials had such power— the power of the State Security Department was alarming!

”Mr. Ye, your identity has been confirmed and the matter has been reported to the Capital National Security Department.” Fang Xiang said as he returned Ye Qing’s credentials, smiling, ”Mr. Ye, leave the cleanup to us. Would you like to rest first? I’ve arranged a place for you to stay!”
