Urban Martial Saint

These monks never imagined Ye Qing’s strength would be so formidable. The leading monk saw four people fall on this side, his expression changed again, and he urgently said, ”Everyone be careful, this person’s strength is very strong, do not attack rashly. Form the formation!”

With this loud shout from the leading monk, the monks who were originally surrounding Ye Qing immediately retreated, encircling Ye Qing from a distance. Following that, several more monks emerged from the warehouse behind, joining with the previous ones, and each selecting their positions and standing firm. They kept a certain distance from each other, but not too far, so they could still support one another. A circle formed, just enclosing Ye Qing within, and each stared at Ye Qing, their mere posture was already imposing a sense of pressure.

Ye Qing frowned slightly. When he heard the leading monk say ”form the formation,” he became somewhat worried. He previously had no understanding of formations but after experiencing the Stone Formation at Shen Family Manor, he realized the wonders of formations. Later, he learned the stepping technique of the Tiangang Beidou Formation, which deepened his understanding of formations, knowing how powerful a well-deployed formation could be.

Now, with so many monks forming such a formation on the opposite side, regardless of the monks’ individual strength, the formation alone was troublesome. Ye Qing counted, there were eighteen monks across, and the power of a formation composed of these eighteen people was likely considerable.

The lead monk, seeing the eighteen monks had formed the formation, instantly showed a trace of a cold smile at the corners of his mouth and shouted loudly, ”Kill!”

Among the eighteen monks, three rushed out immediately, attacking Ye Qing simultaneously. Six fists targeted different parts of Ye Qing’s body, blocking all of Ye Qing’s forward paths.

Ye Qing’s expression changed slightly. Regardless of the might of the formation, the monks now spread out and delivered an organized attack created pressure far greater than before. Previously, they all mobbed together around Ye Qing, their hearts not aligned, and could not all reach him at once. Although there were a dozen monks surrounding Ye Qing, truly only three to five could engage him directly, while the rest remained beyond reach.

Now, with the monks dispersed, Ye Qing became the sole target. Their organized assault, combined strength, was no longer the disordered attack of before, creating pressure on Ye Qing much greater than before.

Facing the three rushing forward, Ye Qing truly could not find a way to counterattack, only taking a step back, trying to first evade these three.

However, as soon as Ye Qing retreated, three monks charged from behind, sealing the three upper, middle, and lower paths.

Thus, Ye Qing had only the two sides to move. But seeing the fierce gaze of the monks on both sides, Ye Qing knew that even if he moved to the sides, it would be of no use; the monks on either side would still encircle him. When all sides rushed over, sealing all paths completely, that would truly be troublesome.

In this situation, several thoughts flashed quickly through Ye Qing’s mind, yet all failed to escape the current predicament. Seeing the monks in front and back closing in, Ye Qing realized he had no way to avoid them, shouting loudly, and gritting his teeth, channeling inner strength throughout his body, preparing to withstand the attack of these six. Simultaneously, both hands counterattacked, grabbing one of the monks. He was prepared that even if he took some hits, he must take one out, not continually suffering in the center.

Ye Qing thought this, but when these six reached him, he suddenly sensed something wrong. These six did not directly strike him but stopped about two meters away, four halted their steps, lined behind the one standing from Ye Qing, forming a row of three, pushing forcefully against the monk in front.

In this way, it became two pushing the one in the front, forcefully thrusting him towards Ye Qing. The person’s speed and power increased significantly, with the palm not yet striking Ye Qing, but Ye Qing sensed the fierce wind already.

Ye Qing was secretly startled; the combined force of these three had multiplied several times, uncertain how these monks managed it. Yet, with such vigor power, Ye Qing surely couldn’t withstand these couple of blows, or he would suffer greatly.

However, Ye Qing’s speed was very fast, but these two monks were now quicker. With Ye Qing barely stepping backward half a foot, the two monks had already reached him. Ye Qing, finding evasion impossible, could only use the technique of Wing Chun Fist to brush aside the two monks’ punches. However, he underestimated their force; his might could only slightly lift their fists but couldn’t fully deflect them, and their strikes landed heavily on his left shoulder.

Taking this heavy blow, Ye Qing could not help a muffled groan, his shoulder burst with pain, rendering his entire left arm immobile. Fortunately, he carried the effects of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill within, which automatically and quickly mended the injury, but even so, it needed some time.

Just then, before Ye Qing could recover, another six monks simultaneously dashed out from the sides, attacking Ye Qing. Meanwhile, six monks from the front and back didn’t continue their attack; instead, they retreated back to their original positions, sharply eyeing Ye Qing.

Having suffered under the six monks in the front and back, Ye Qing wasn’t about to risk a second time. As soon as these monks charged, Ye Qing directly crossed a step, using the Tiangang Beidou Formation’s stepping technique, making three strange moves in place.

Ye Qing’s three steps were exceptionally strange; not only were the six monks unable to discern Ye Qing’s position, even those originally watching Ye Qing couldn’t figure it out. They stood guarding against Ye Qing shifting, completely caught off guard by his three steps, unable to grasp his location, let alone intercept him.

And the six monks rushing from both sides couldn’t figure out Ye Qing’s position and naturally missed him. The six charged out directly into thin air. Contrary to their missteps, Ye Qing dashed forward, grabbing one of them by the collar.

”Protect!” the lead monk shouted fiercely, immediately, another six charged up, fully encircling Ye Qing, trying to protect the monk Ye Qing had seized.

Using the Tiangang Beidou Formation’s stepping technique to slip through their attack, Ye Qing realized its effectiveness within the monk’s formation. Consequently, he didn’t stop using this technique, holding the monk while stepping out another three times, positions identical to before; because it’s the only technique he mastered. Nevertheless, remarkably, these three steps entirely baffled the monks, allowing Ye Qing to break their encirclement.

Witnessing this situation, the leading monk was dumbfounded. Their formation derived from the Buddhist Sect’s Eighteen Arhats Formation had unlikely great power. Eighteen monks deploying this in unison could magnify their strength exponentially; one attack became a collaborative strike, extremely potent. Moreover, key was the eighteen monks enclosing, sealing every path of the opponent. No matter how strong, once caught within, escape was impossible.

Yet Ye Qing’s situation was bizarre. His seemingly ordinary stepping technique within the Eighteen Arhats Formation made the monks lose track of him entirely. The Eighteen Arhats Formation was flawless, but Ye Qing’s technique managed to disrupt it, creating openings unexpectedly, and failing to confine Ye Qing.

The eighteen monks bewildered by Ye Qing’s tactic couldn’t catch him, instead dropping several of their own under Ye Qing’s counter. The formation, thus, collapsed entirely. The leading monk was petrified; such an outcome exceeded his expectations, having never seen anyone dismantle the Eighteen Arhats Formation.

From afar, One-Eyed Ding Lianshun stood atop an abandoned warehouse, silently observing the melee within the site. Watching Ye Qing disarray the monks, he couldn’t help but smirk: ”The so-called Eighteen Arhats Formation is only a derivative from the Dalin Temple’s Ten Thousand Buddhas Formation; how can it compare with the Taoist Sect’s first great formation, the Tiangang Beidou Formation? Only the Ten Thousand Buddhas Formation or the Bodhi Grand Formation from Xiaolin Temple could stand against it!”

With this, Ding Lianshun sighed gently, muttering, ”Unfortunately, Dalin Temple’s talents have dwindled, Xiaolin Temple has vanished, and both the Ten Thousand Buddhas Formation and Bodhi Grand Formation have become history. However, if one could locate Guiguzi’s tomb, the complete Tiangang Beidou Formation might surface!”

His eyes gleamed with interest upon mentioning it, hinting at his strong desire for the Tiangang Beidou Formation.

Seeing Ye Qing utterly dismantle the Eighteen Arhats Formation, Ding Lianshun slowly shook his head, murmuring, ”These Brahman monks are really worthless. It seems only those three old fellows could handle him.”

Suddenly, Ding Lianshun seemed to hear something, quickly turning his head afar. After a moment’s silence, a cold smile emerged at his lips, murmuring quietly, ”So, you’ve finally arrived!”

With these words, Ding Lianshun swiftly leapt into the warehouse, as if avoiding someone.
