Urban Martial Saint

In this large truck, I saw two monks. Although these two monks were not the monk who appeared earlier outside the orphanage, their attire was the same as that monk from the orphanage, so there’s a high probability they’re from the same group. Hence, Ye Qing unhesitatingly rushed to the front of the truck to stop it.

Ye Qing got out of his car and walked to the side of the truck, just as a monk was stepping out.

”What are you doing, sir?” This monk spoke in awkward Huaxia language, clearly a foreigner.

Ye Qing knew the previous monk was also a foreigner, so upon hearing this monk speak, he was more certain that this monk was related to the one who abducted Broom Star.

”Do you know this monk?” Ye Qing took out a photo of Boye and showed it to the monk. For tracking purposes, he had specifically captured this image from surveillance video to facilitate asking passersby. Although the photo wasn’t very clear, Boye’s facial features were identifiable.

The monk looked slightly surprised when he saw Boye’s photo and glanced at the elder sitting inside the truck. The elder, sitting near the door, saw Boye’s photo and slightly frowned, saying, ”I don’t know him.”

Seeing the exchange of glances, Ye Qing knew they were lying. These two monks definitely knew Boye, and they were most likely involved in Broom Star’s abduction as well.

Ye Qing looked at the two and then at the large truck behind them, suddenly asking, ”What’s inside the truck?”

Both monks’ faces changed. The elder glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”These are supplies we brought from elsewhere.”

Seeing their change in expression, Ye Qing was aware there was certainly something suspicious inside the truck. So, he decisively walked towards the truck, saying, ”What supplies? Open it and show me.”

The young monk seemed a bit flustered, while the elder’s experience was obviously richer. He jumped down from the truck, saying, ”These are things from our Buddhist sect and cannot be opened casually for others to see. Besides, you’re not the police; what right do you have to inspect our goods?”

”Coincidentally, I happen to be the police.” Ye Qing casually took out his veteran’s card and showed it to them. The two monks couldn’t read, and seeing Ye Qing in a military uniform in the photo, they were bluffed into thinking he was indeed the police.

The young monk looked at the elder, not knowing how to handle such a situation. The elder, remaining relatively calm, furrowed his brow, saying, ”Officer, these are our sect’s secret goods, not to be opened casually. Moreover, there are some sariras from high monks inside, opening them in a place like this would be disrespectful to Buddha and could bring disaster.”

Monks and Taoists often use deity talk to fool people, the more he said it, the more Ye Qing suspected there was something off inside the truck, insisting on seeing the situation inside.

”Regardless of any supposed disaster, this is a routine check!” Ye Qing’s tone turned cold, saying, ”Please cooperate, or I’ll have to arrest you for obstructing a public official!”

The young monk shuddered with fear, knowing what was inside. If they got caught, both of them would surely face prison time.

The elder deeply furrowed his brows; Ye Qing’s insistence was starting to annoy him. He quietly signalled the young monk with his eyes, then smiled at Ye Qing, saying, ”Alright, alright, I’ll get the keys, just wait a moment.”

Saying this, the elder showed no intention of stepping back. At this time, the young monk standing behind Ye Qing suddenly reached out to grab Ye Qing around the neck. Meanwhile, the elder punched straight towards Ye Qing’s temple.

They had been in Huaxia for quite some time and it wasn’t their first encounter with the police. When being questioned before, they would knock the person out and flee, and now with Ye Qing alone, it would be easier to execute old tricks. However, Ye Qing was completely different from those police officers they had encountered before.

The young monk, behind Ye Qing, reached out attempting a sneak attack to grab Ye Qing’s neck. But before he could, Ye Qing seized his wrist, forcefully swung him in front, blocking the elder’s incoming punch.

The elder’s capability was considerable, noticing the punch almost hitting his disciple, he retracted his hand immediately.

”Oh, so you’re an expert!” The elder furrowed his brows, asking in a deep voice, ”You’re not a cop, who are you really?”

”Hmph!” Ye Qing snorted coldly, saying, ”You dare to snatch people from my orphanage and still not know who I am?”

”Your orphanage?” The elder was a bit stunned; of course, he didn’t know what place Ye Qing referred to. After all, they had taken too many children, he himself didn’t know whether they had been to Ye Qing’s orphanage.

”So you’re here to reclaim them?” The elder glanced Ye Qing up and down, said deeply: ”I advise you to leave soon, these kids will have a better chance if they come with me. Staying with you will only lead to a mundane life without any value or meaning. I’m taking them for their own good!”

”So by saying that, you admit it!” Ye Qing frowned, asking deeply: ”And just how many kids have you taken?”

”This isn’t called taking them; this is guiding them towards Buddha!” The elder said, ”Life is suffering, remaining in this sea of hardship, they can never be rescued. I’m taking them away to lead them to Buddha, letting them escape the sea of bitterness, as a mortal, you wouldn’t understand!”

”Enough with this nonsense.” Ye Qing waved a hand, saying, ”In simple terms, you’ve abducted many kids, haven’t you?”

”I said, this isn’t abduction!” The elder corrected.

”I don’t care what you call it, trying to take them away is child trafficking!” Ye Qing said sternly, ”I despise child traffickers the most in this life, shame that you are monks committing such despicable acts. If I don’t severely punish you today, there would be no justice!”

As Ye Qing spoke, he stepped forward and aimed a punch directly at the elder.

The elder had long been prepared; in fact, he was ready to strike as well. Thus when Ye Qing punched, he immediately rushed forward, clawed hands attacking Ye Qing’s arm.

Ye Qing slightly smiled, his punch was just a feint to test the elder’s prowess. The true technique lay in the other hand charging up, so the elder’s attempt to attack was in vain as he had no ability to counter Ye Qing’s other hand. Moreover, his attack exposed his shoulder with numerous openings, which is a cardinal sin in expert battles.

Ye Qing was well aware of this, so he didn’t evade, letting his arm be caught while he raised the other hand to hit the elder’s shoulder heavily. Yet halfway through, he sensed something was wrong. The elder, having grabbed Ye Qing’s arm, suddenly charged forward like a bullet, aiming his head at Ye Qing’s abdomen.

Though Ye Qing’s punch was swift, the monk’s full-force charge was faster. Ye Qing quickly pulled back his arm, raising his elbow defensively. To his surprise, the elder’s head was as hard as iron, breaking through the defense and hitting Ye Qing’s chest.

Fortunately, Ye Qing managed to deflect most of the force, but the impact still left his chest feeling tight, showing the power of the monk’s head. Before he could catch his breath, the monk charged in again, head aimed at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing tried to back away but his arm was firmly grasped, retreat was impossible. As for dodging, it was even harder given the monk’s unpredictable strikes, which Ye Qing had never encountered before. In a difficult evasion, Ye Qing blocked with his arm but still took a small loss as the elder struck once more.

The elder attempted a third attack using the same trick, and Ye Qing, having anticipated, punched heavily aiming at the elder’s head to repel him. Yet upon collision, Ye Qing’s fist throbbed with pain as if hitting stone, while the monk seemed unbothered, a curious phenomenon.

”You... is that Iron Head Skill?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

The elder remained silent, continued to charge at Ye Qing. Ye Qing didn’t dare to take it head-on, withdrawing with the elder to the side of the truck. As the elder once more aimed a headbutt, Ye Qing seized the moment, grabbed the elder by the neck, shifted aside, exposing the truck behind, directing the elder’s head into it.

The elder wasn’t foolish, realizing danger and wanting to stop. But Ye Qing had planned this, how could he allow an easy escape, pushing the monk’s neck forcibly. The combined force of Ye Qing’s push and the elder’s previous momentum led to an unavoidable crash into the metal truck body with a loud boom.
