Urban Martial Saint

Li Lianshan’s question made Ye Qing pause for a moment; indeed, it was an issue. The fact that these Buddhists are so devout to their sect shows that they are all very persistent individuals. Although Ye Qing had rescued these children, there was no guarantee that they wouldn’t come back to take the children away again.

”Can the parents of these children be found?” Ye Qing asked.

Li Lianshan replied, ”When they were first brought in, we already inquired. If there are no issues, we can return half of them home by tomorrow. The other half should be able to go home within three days. If we still can’t find their parents in three days, it might not be easy to find them at all.”

Li Lianshan also often got involved with affairs at the orphanage, so he was quite experienced with these matters.

Ye Qing slowly nodded and said, ”I injured that monk, so I estimate that within three days, he probably won’t come to Shenchuan City. Let’s do this: if we can’t find the parents of these children after three days, send them to Sha Men or to Chen San for temporary care.”

With the Bloody Monk overseeing Sha Men, even people as strong as the Five Uniques would have to think twice before causing trouble there. Leaving the children at Sha Men would be absolutely safe. As for Chen San, with the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance extending their influence to the Southern Six Provinces, Helian Tiehua has already entered the Southern Six Provinces, Ao Wuchang is personally overseeing Shenchuan City, and with Chen San’s formidable strength, those monks wouldn’t gain any advantage from Chen San either. Therefore, placing the children with them would also be safe. At the very least, during the time Ye Qing isn’t in Shenchuan City, Sha Men and Chen San can ensure these children won’t be taken by those monks.

”I think we should send them to Sha Men,” Li Lianshan said. ”Chen San is great, but that Aomuhan is too damn arrogant. While you’re not in Shenchuan City, he keeps causing trouble here. If the children are placed with Chen San, who knows what Aomuhan might do. Things are better with Sha Men, where we have a good relationship, especially now that Cui Panguan is managing Sha Men. He’ll definitely be able to take good care of these children.”

”Alright, let’s go with that,” Ye Qing nodded, staying with Sha Men could indeed put his mind at ease. However, the Bloody Monk was always someone who acted on his own whims, which still made Ye Qing a little wary of him. But he thought the monk likely wouldn’t be too harsh on these kids.

After working all night, Ye Qing and his companions first went back to rest. However, some people were destined to remain sleepless, like Boye and Weiye, these two monks.

The two monks, bringing the corpses of the elder and the young monk, first found a place to settle them, then contacted the other three elders to inform them of what had happened there.

The Four Great Elders of Brahmanism entered Huaxia and then dispersed to search for the Reincarnated True Buddha. Although there was competition among the elders, it was an internal competition. In dealing with external matters, these people were extraordinarily united. Upon learning that this elder was killed here, the other three great elders couldn’t sit still and rushed to Shenchuan City overnight while also contacting the Guardian of the Faith Elder, the Purple-robed Lama, to inform him of the incident.

The Four Great Elders held an extremely high rank within Brahmanism and had a high status. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been entrusted with the task of finding the Reincarnated True Buddha. Now, one elder had died in Huaxia, which was big news and would inevitably cause a sensation when reported back to Brahmanism. This incident will also undoubtedly accelerate the Purple-robed Lama’s entry into Huaxia, which plays into Ding Lianshun’s plan.

”Master, please go in peace!” Weiye knelt in front of the elder’s body and said solemnly, ”The three other elders are about to arrive in Shenchuan City. At that time, when the three elders join forces, they will surely destroy that person and avenge you. Also, the Venerable Purple-robed Elder is about to enter Huaxia. When the Venerable comes this time, he will definitely let the martial artists of Huaxia see the power of Brahmanism, showing them that there is always a sky beyond the sky, and someone stronger beyond individuals!”

Boye knelt beside him, frowning, not as agitated as Weiye. After a long silence, he suddenly said softly, ”Weiye, have you ever considered, what if the elder wasn’t killed by that person?”

”What do you mean by that?” Weiye glared at Boye and said, ”You saw it too at the time; only that car came over. Moreover, it was that person who drove away our car. If it wasn’t him who killed Master and Junior Brother, then who else could it be?”

”Seeing is believing!” Boye said, ”When a life is at stake, we cannot rely solely on conjecture; we need solid evidence to prove this matter.”

”Master is dead, and you’re talking about seeing is believing?” Weiye said angrily, ”Now neither of us saw it. How can we see to believe? According to you, since neither of us saw that he killed Master and Junior Brother, he can’t be considered the murderer, and we don’t need to seek revenge on him? Boye, do you not want revenge for Master?”

”Of course I want revenge for Master, but I still feel there’s something suspicious about this,” Boye stared at the two corpses in front of him and said, ”Think about it, if it really was that person who killed Master and Junior Brother, why were their bodies discovered two kilometers away? Their car was left at that location, so that person must have stopped Master’s car there. The battle would have happened by the car, why weren’t Master and Junior Brother killed by the car?”

These questions made Weiye slightly stunned, but he quickly waved his hand and said: ”What you said is not a problem, no need to ask! They must have run while fighting, ran two kilometers, Master and Junior Brother were too tired that they were eventually killed.”

”No, no!” Boye shook his head and said, ”Look closely, Master’s ribs are broken, shattered by a strong inner strength. But the fatal wound is the wound on Master’s neck. It’s narrow and deep, clearly caused by a sharp weapon swiftly cutting through. However, if you look at the rest of Master’s body, there are no other cuts from a sharp weapon. If this person really had a lethal weapon, why only use it for the last strike and not the earlier ones? Might it be that these were the acts of two different individuals? One only fought with fists and feet; the latter one used a weapon to kill.”

It must be said, Boye’s insight was extremely precise, and he quickly pinpointed the issue. As he said, Ye Qing had been battling with fists and feet against his Master, and it was Ding Lianshun who used the weapon later.

”Boye, what are you trying to do?” Weiye said, ”Now Master is dead, and you’re making excuses for the murderer; how is this fair to Master?”

Weiye is relatively stubborn, convinced that Ye Qing killed his Master, he directed all his hatred towards Ye Qing. He didn’t want to listen to Boye’s analysis, only convinced Ye Qing killed his Master.

Boye sighed, knowing Weiye’s character, and realized that nothing he said would change Weiye’s view. He couldn’t say more, or they would surely end up arguing with Weiye.

After a moment of silence, Boye said, ”However, the child I brought back today might just be the Reincarnated True Buddha we’ve been looking for!”

”Is this really the time to be concerned about that?” Weiye said angrily, ”Revenge for Master is the most crucial thing right now.”

”I do want to avenge Master, but I still think something’s not right,” Boye continued, ”Finding the Reincarnated True Buddha is crucial. Only by finding him quickly can Brahmanism stabilize and avoid internal strife. Avenging Master can be pursued in due course, but securing the Reincarnated True Buddha must be our clear priority!”

”Why do we still need to figure this out? It’s definitely that person who killed Master; we just need to take revenge on him. We can avenge Master first, then look for the Reincarnated True Buddha; it’s not going to delay anything!”

Despite what Weiye said, Boye sighed, knowing well Weiye’s stubborn nature. Regardless of the explanation, it was impossible to convince him that Ye Qing didn’t kill his Master.

At the same time, in a small forest near the sea in Shenchuan City, two monks were leisurely strolling through the woods. And from their relaxed demeanor, it seemed they might even burst out laughing.

Often these illegal immigrants are in one of two situations: either wanting to go elsewhere or leave the place. Usually, the people who hope to go elsewhere are poor and only want to earn more money. However, the second type is much more complicated; those who need to flee after committing a crime are the ones who often gather here. Among them are many hardened criminals who are currently on the run.
