Urban Martial Saint

After agreeing on the matter with Boss Zhou, Ye Qing quickly returned to the hotel.

It was still Little Zhang who drove him back. Along the way, Little Zhang was so excited that he could be described as dancing with joy. After all, if this wooden stick were sold for tens of millions, his share would be hundreds of thousands, which was a astronomical amount. Therefore, Little Zhang was especially respectful towards Ye Qing, followed him upstairs, and tended to Ye Qing diligently. If Ye Qing hadn’t plainly stated that he needed to rest, Little Zhang would have been reluctant to leave.

”Big brother, tomorrow morning, tomorrow morning, I’ll come to pick you up first thing in the morning,” Little Zhang said, waving to Ye Qing at the door: ”It’s settled, tomorrow morning, we’ll go together. By the way, big brother, what do you like to eat? Should I bring you something?”

”No need,” Ye Qing waved his hand and said directly, ”I’m tired, I need to rest now.”

”Alright, in that case, you should rest early, good dreams,” Little Zhang said, watching eagerly as Ye Qing closed the door. Still somewhat worried, he stood at the door for a while, carefully noting the room’s location as if he was afraid he might choose the wrong room tomorrow.

Ye Qing did not rest; he wasn’t tired at all. However, he noticed something unusual about the hotel, so he sent Little Zhang away first.

Ye Qing had always been meticulous in his work. When he entered the hotel, he specifically observed his surroundings. In doing so, he truly found something unusual.

The hotel wasn’t bad; there were video surveillance cameras in the corridors. Above one of these cameras, there was a small protrusion. Ye Qing noticed clearly that this protrusion was actually a small surveillance camera. Its position was well placed, accompanying the original camera to see everything in the corridor. The color of this small camera matched the original, making it almost indistinguishable even upon close inspection.

Ye Qing was specially trained in these matters during his time in the special forces, so he was particularly sensitive to such things. Moreover, he had become more cautious and observant over time, immediately spotting the small camera. When he left earlier, he checked, and it wasn’t there, meaning someone put it there after he left, targeting him specifically.

This didn’t surprise Ye Qing. Besides holding the Gold Silk Armor, he also had the wooden box’s key, which certainly attracted a lot of secret attention. Being tailed was expected. Conversely, if no one came after him, that would be a cause for concern.

The corridor’s camera was definitely meant to monitor his movements there, incapable of observing the room’s interior. However, given they could place a camera in the corridor, they likely had ways to monitor his room. So, upon closing the door, Ye Qing showed no sign of disturbance, calmly walking to the window and drawing the curtain.

Meanwhile, in a building across from the hotel, Handsome Fatty Wang was hiding in a room with two others. One man held a long telescope, spying on Ye Qing’s side. Seeing Ye Qing pull the curtains, the man put down the telescope and said, ”Damn, he closed the curtain, now we can’t see anything. Fat Wang, didn’t I say we should just unlock his room and put a camera inside? Then everything would be settled. Now we can’t see anything, how are we supposed to find out where he hid the Dragon Blood Wood?”

Handsome Fatty Wang sat there calmly and said, ”Rabbit, calm down, Fat Lord knows what’s going on. You don’t know Ye Qing, that bastard is sharper than a monkey. Entering his room to place a camera wouldn’t work, even touching his door wouldn’t fool him. Only by placing the camera further away can he not notice, understand?”

”I understand, but, placing the camera so far, what’s the use?” Rabbit shrugged and said, ”Look, now that kid’s holed up in his room, we have no clue what he’s doing, or where the Dragon Blood Wood is hidden. We’re like blind men here. They say, ’Know your enemy and yourself, and you will win every battle.’ We know nothing, how can we know anything about him? You even said, this kid can fight, if we can’t sneak the item out, are we going to grab it? He could probably take on all three of us at once, right?”

”I’m not fighting!” The other man immediately raised his hand and said, ”We’re tomb robbers, transitioning to stealing from people is already unrelated to our field. Fighting would just be robbery, lacking any technical skill!”

”Enough chatter, you two!” Handsome Fatty Wang waved his hand and said, ”You think Fat Lord wasn’t prepared? I’ve been playing the wits game with this kid many times, you think I don’t know him? I called you two for help just to make you rich. Relax, Fat Lord has already arranged everything.”

”What have you arranged?” The two asked simultaneously.

Handsome Fatty Wang chuckled, took out a signal receiver and headphones from his backpack, waved the items in his hand, and smiled, ”This, of course!”

”A bug?” The two were a bit surprised, not knowing what Handsome Fatty Wang intended with this.

”Unexpected, right?” Handsome Fatty Wang laughed, setting up the bugging device, ”Do you know where I put the bug?”

”Isn’t it in that kid’s room? Where else could it be?” Rabbit said with a smirk.

”Wrong!” Handsome Fatty Wang shook his head and said, ”It’s the room next to that kid!”

”Damn, you’re even more useless!” Rabbit said, ”We’re trying to see where he put the Dragon Blood Wood. Using a bug, we can’t hear anything in the first place. Plus, if you’re going to eavesdrop, why not place the bug in his room instead of the room next door? What do you want to hear exactly?”

”You guys just don’t get it.” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”Didn’t I just say, that kid’s sharper than a monkey’s mother. If I put the bug in his room, he’d definitely find it. But if I place it in the room next door, without touching his room, no matter how skilled he is, he won’t discover it.”

”He might not discover it, but our bug is pretty much useless then.” another man said.

”Who said it’s useless?” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”I specifically had someone send this back from abroad, it’s a high-tech product with a wide eavesdropping range and amplifying features. Forget about one wall, even through several walls, we can hear the sounds clearly. Placed in the room next door, we can hear everything that kid does in his room clearly, no problem at all!”

”Really? This thing is that high-tech?” The two nearby were full of astonishment. Rabbit scratched his head and said, ”But, what’s the use? We’re mainly trying to see where he put the Dragon Blood Wood, not to listen to him talk!”

”That’s not how you should think.” Handsome Fatty Wang shook his head and said, ”Even if we know where he put the Dragon Blood Wood, with this kid’s vigilance, we can’t possibly snatch it from his hands directly. To take the Dragon Blood Wood, we must use our brains, not brute force.”

”Use our brains? I’m quite good at that.” the man next to him laughed.

”Good at what?” Rabbit rolled his eyes at him, then turned to Handsome Fatty Wang and said, ”So what do you think we should do?”

Handsome Fatty Wang shook the headphones in his hand and said, ”It’s simple. First, figure out why this kid came to Tianfu City?”

Rabbit and the other man exchanged glances, confused, ”Why figure that out?”

”Hehe...” Handsome Fatty Wang smiled slightly and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, this kid came to Tianfu City to find someone. And if he’s really here to find this person, then our chance to take the Dragon Blood Wood increases greatly.”

”Who is he looking for?” both men asked curiously at the same time.

Handsome Fatty Wang looked at the two and said, ”Who do you think is the most valuable person for him to find here in Tianfu City?”

The two were silent for a moment and then simultaneously shouted, ”Master Craft?”

”Exactly!” Handsome Fatty Wang clapped his hands and said, ”It’s Master Craft. Here in Tianfu City, the most famous and worthiest person for him to find is this person.”

”Why is he looking for Master Craft?” Rabbit asked, puzzled.

Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”In this world, whoever looks for Master Craft, it must be for one thing.”

”To make a fake?” the man next to him widened his eyes and said in a deep voice, ”He... he wants to fake the Dragon Blood Wood?”

”Exactly!” Handsome Fatty Wang nodded slowly and said, ”That Ye kid is not stupid. Prince Wan Yan and Northern Martial Zen are looking for him, the whole world wants to kill him. Plus, so many people are trying to snatch the Dragon Blood Wood. With his skills, he can’t possibly guard the Dragon Blood Wood. But he doesn’t want others to take it either, so he comes to Tianfu City to find Master Craft to make a fake, letting people snatch the fake while he hides the genuine one. This way, people keep snatching back and forth, but what they get is always a fake. The real one stays with him, that’s his real purpose!”

”Wow, damn!” Rabbit slapped his thigh and said, ”Fat Wang, you’ve thought this through quite well. Luckily you mentioned this, otherwise, I wouldn’t know what that kid was up to here. If we went through all that trouble just to snatch a fake, I’d be pissed as hell!”
