Urban Martial Saint

As soon as these words were spoken, the Lin Family members immediately became noisy, and Old Lady Lin furrowed her brows even more.

”Zhao Shilin, watch your words!” Old Lady Lin banged her cane and angrily said, ”How has my Lin family ever been unreasonable in its dealings? How has my Lin family ever repaid kindness with ingratitude?”

”Speaking of reason, how could you, without any evidence, blame everything on Ye Qing? If not repaying kindness with ingratitude, then why drive Ye Qing to death?” Zhao Shilin coldly said, ”You old hag, you are old now, unable to discern right from wrong, just peacefully enjoy the remainder of your life. Why must you extend your reach so far, meddling in everything, and handle everything?

Acting without distinguishing black from white, only protecting your own family members, indulging them as they treat lives like dirt. What now? Are other people’s lives not lives? Are their lives worth less than those of the Lin family?”

Old Lady Lin trembled with anger, pointing at Zhao Shilin and angrily said, ”Mr. Zhao, make yourself clear. What do you mean by indulging our family members in treating lives like dirt? Which of the Lin family has treated lives like dirt?”

Zhao Shilin loudly said, ”It’s Lin Tianhao you’re protecting!”

Old Lady Lin angrily said, ”What has Tianhao done? Don’t slander him!”

”Am I slandering him?” Zhao Shilin coldly said, ”The things Lin Tianhao has done—are there a few people in Shenchuan City who don’t know, who aren’t aware? Only you, this old fool, are kept in the dark, yet you support him everywhere. If it hadn’t been for the Lin family’s support, Lin Tianhao would have been executed long ago, could he still be alive now?

Over these years, how many people has Lin Tianhao caused the death of, how many families has he turned destitute? Old thing, you still protect him? Do you know, the things you are doing, they will have consequences!”

Old Lady Lin, furiously enraged, said, ”Zhao Shilin, you must provide evidence when you speak. Tianhao was raised by me, I know best what kind of person he is. He has a good heart—how could he harm anyone? Zhao Shilin, don’t think that just because Tianhao’s father died early, you can falsely accuse Tianhao of these crimes. As long as I’m here, no one will bully him!”

”Yes, indeed no one dares to bully him. Who would dare to bully him? Doesn’t someone die under him every month!” Zhao Shilin coldly said, ”Go see for yourself, how many children he has abducted and forced into begging. How many healthy people he has turned into disabled, left to beg on the streets.

How many breadwinners, wanting to earn money for their families, he has crippled, leading to their families starving to death. How many families who have lost children, have been completely ruined by him. It’s because of your protection of Lin Tianhao that so many families have been harmed like this.”

”Don’t falsely accuse him; Tianhao would never do these things, I believe in him!” Old Lady Lin coldly said.

”Believe in him?” Zhao Shilin sneered and said, ”You old undying, how long has it been since you stepped outside, do you know what has happened out there? You know nothing and just believe in him with a single sentence? On what basis do you believe him? You just ask those people around you, see if they know what Lin Tianhao has been doing outside!”

Old Lady Lin turned to the people around her, who immediately shook their heads repeatedly.

Lin Zhen Nan slightly furrowed his brows and gravely said, ”Mom, I have also heard about some things Tianhao did outside recently. The things he did were indeed a bit too much!”

Old Lady Lin glared at Lin Zhen Nan and sternly said, ”I won’t listen to you; you’re biased against Tianhao. Yaqing, tell me, what exactly has Tianhao done outside?”

Lin Yaqing said, ”Mom, Tianhao is a good kid, how could he possibly do these things? He’s just doing business, and moreover, he’s doing quite well, everyone in our family knows this.”

Lin Fuyuan added, ”Yes, Tianhao’s business is doing very well. This kid is just a little young, and young people tend to be hot-blooded, it’s inevitable to have some disputes with others outside. That’s why there are quite a few rumors about him outside. Maybe Uncle Zhao has heard these rumors and that’s why he’s come here accusing us!”

”Yaqing, Fuyuan, how can you two talk like this!” Lin Zhen Nan yelled angrily.

”Brother, I’m just stating the facts!” Lin Yaqing looked innocent.

Lin Zhen Nan wanted to rage, but Old Lady Lin directly waved her hand and angrily said, ”Don’t speak.”

”Mom!” Lin Zhen Nan urgently said, but Old Lady Lin’s expression changed, and angrily said, ”You are the eldest son, it’s enough that you don’t support your own people, but you even slander your own family, are you trying to anger me to death?”

Lin Zhen Nan was instantly left speechless. Zhao Shilin just coldly smiled and said, ”Exactly, exactly, a nest of snakes and rats. No wonder Lin Yashi became mute, this is retribution!”

As these words came out, the Lin family members were even more uproarious, and Lin Fuyuan indignantly said, ”Uncle Zhao, can you watch your words. What has Yashi done to provoke you; why would you say that about her?”

”Zhao Shilin, we respect you as an elder, but don’t go too far!” Lin Yaqing was even more arrogant, angrily saying, ”This is the Lin family, not a place for you to run wild!”

”Run wild?” Zhao Shilin suddenly burst into laughter, walked straight into the Lin family, heading directly for Lin Yaqing.

”What are you trying to do!” Lin Yaqing grew a bit frightened, hastily taking a step back.

Lin Fuyuan came over to stop Zhao Shilin, coldly saying, ”Uncle Zhao, this is the Lin family, please show some respect!”

”Respect your uncle!” Zhao Shilin raised his hand and gave Lin Fuyuan two fierce slaps across the face.

Zhao Shilin, a military man by profession, was older but still struck with great force. Two slaps caused Lin Fuyuan’s cheeks to swell up.

Lin Fuyuan was stunned by Zhao Shilin’s two slaps, and the members of the Lin family were also stunned.

Zhao Shilin didn’t pause, walking straight over and grabbing Lin Yaqing by the hair, pulling her down the stairs.

”Uncle Zhao!” Lin Zhen Nan hurried over to intervene, and the Lin family members all gathered around too.

”Get out of the way!” Zhao Shilin cursed loudly, and immediately thereafter, a group of soldiers in military uniforms burst through the door, separating all the Lin family members and even pushing Lin Zhen Nan aside.

”Zhao Shilin, you’ve got some nerve!” Old Lady Lin, furious, shouted, ”You bring all these people storming into my Lin house, what exactly do you think you’re doing?”

”What am I doing? I’m seeking justice for my grandson!” After saying this, Zhao Shilin slapped Lin Yaqing several times sharply, causing her to bleed from the mouth, before he finally stopped.

”This is what you owe my grandson!” Zhao Shilin said coldly.

”You madman!” Old Lady Lin screamed, ”Stop him, I don’t believe his men would dare to touch us!”

The members of the Lin family were also enraged by Zhao Shilin’s actions; several young men, including Lin Fuyuan’s son, Lin Tianyun, began to rush forward, yelling.

”Strike!” Zhao Shilin waved his hand and shouted, and the soldiers unceremoniously took down those who were at the front, kicking and punching them on the ground.

”Uncle Zhao, what on earth are you doing!” Lin Zhen Nan also got angry, yelling loudly, ”Uncle Zhao, order them to stop this instant!”

”Keep hitting!” Zhao Shilin showed no intention of stopping.

”You dare to attack the people of my Lin family!” Old Lady Lin was furious, pointing at Zhao Shilin and screaming, ”You... you bring so many people to storm into a residence and beat up ordinary citizens, I... I’m going to sue you!”

”Sue me, go ahead. I dare you to sue me!” Zhao Shilin was imposing as he shouted, ”Sue me once, I’ll come to your Lin house once more. I don’t believe that, with all your wealth, you can do anything to this old man. I want to see who dares to judge Zhao Shilin. Even if you take it to the Capital, I’m not afraid of you!”

Zhao Shilin had already retired and held no official position. His two sons were significant figures in the military, but they were relatively humble compared to the Lin family. However, Zhao Shilin’s confidence was not unfounded. Although he held no official position, he had been a personal bodyguard to a founding general for thirty years, practically considering him a brother.

After retiring, he settled in Shenchuan City but maintained close ties with the general’s family in the Capital. As long as the general was still alive, and even if he were not, his descendants would surely protect Zhao Shilin. Given the scale of this disruption, as long as nobody died, the Lin family couldn’t stir up much trouble!

Knowing Zhao Shilin’s background and realizing she could do nothing about him, Old Lady Lin could only point at Zhao Shilin, her voice trembling with rage, ”You... you bandit!”

”You bunch of hypocrites!” Zhao Shilin retorted undeterred.

Old Lady Lin was so angry that she trembled all over, clutching her chest, her face looking extremely unsightly.

Seeing his mother like that, Lin Zhen Nan was shocked, hastily pushing the people in front of him aside, and rushed to support Old Lady Lin.

Zhao Shilin glanced at the old lady, snorted coldly, and said, ”Undying old woman, don’t think you’re the only one who would protect her calf. Let me tell you, don’t mess with my Zhao family. If you slap a member of my Zhao family, I’ll return ten slaps!”

”Zhao Shilin, you... you’re completely unreasonable!” Old Lady Lin, clutching her chest, bellowed loudly.

”Reasonable?” Zhao Shilin suddenly glared, saying, ”My grandson came here with good intentions to deliver a message for you guys, did you reason with him? He was merely responsible for delivering a message, and that was for the good of your Lin family. Not only did you not thank him, but you also slapped him twice.

A slap is just a slap, but if my grandson had been fit and healthy, being reprimanded by his elders would have been acceptable. But now, he’s in a wheelchair, and you bastards...”

Zhao Shilin, enraged, suddenly turned around and kicked Lin Yaqing, shouting, ”Cheng Shuang is already injured like that, and you, wretch, you still hit him. I’ll chop off your two hands!”

Lin Yaqing, terrified out of her wits, screamed and turned to run. Zhao Shilin was about to chase her but was stopped by Lin Zhen Nan.

Lin Zhen Nan said sternly, ”Uncle Zhao, the matter with Cheng Shuang was our fault. You’ve hit and scolded, and you’ve vented your anger. We, the younger generation, were taught a lesson by you, and rightfully so. However, this is still the Lin family’s house, can you leave us some face?”
